Michigan State owns the second-longest streak of NCAA Tournament appearances (25), but a 4-5 start to the season, including a loss to James Madison, seemingly put that in jeopardy. The Spartans (17-10) have bounced back nicely since then and currently find themselves projected to be in the field, albeit without a lot of room to spare. They'll look to solidify their status on Sunday as they host the Ohio State Buckeyes (15-12) on CBS and Paramount+. The Buckeyes are just one week removed from stunning then-No. 2 Purdue in the first game for interim head coach Jake Diebler.

Tipoff is set for 4 p.m. ET at the Breslin Center in East Lansing, Mich. The latest Michigan State vs. Ohio State odds from SportsLine consensus list the Spartans as 10-point favorites, while the over/under for total points scored is 138. College basketball picks for Michigan State vs. Ohio State

Before tuning into the Ohio State vs. Michigan State game, you need to see the college basketball picks from SportsLine's advanced computer model. The model simulates every Division I college basketball game 10,000 times. It enters Week 16 of the 2023-24 season on a 136-89 roll on all top-rated college basketball picks dating back to last season, returning nearly $2,500 for $100 players. It is also off to a sizzling 25-13 start on top-rated spread picks this season. Anyone following has seen huge returns.

For Ohio State vs. Michigan State, the model projects the Buckeyes to cover the spread as 10-point underdogs. The Spartans are coming off a 78-71 loss at home against Iowa on Tuesday. Michigan State managed just 33 points in the first half of that matchup. Another stagnant offensive performance on Sunday will be detrimental to a team favored by such a large margin.

The Spartans also suffered a 68-56 setback in their last home game against Ohio State. Guard Bruce Thornton scored 21 points for the Buckeyes in that victory and he's been red hot for Ohio State in recent weeks. Thornton has scored 22 or more points in three of his last four games and he's projected to lead the Buckeyes in scoring again on Sunday, helping Ohio State cover the spread nearly 60% of the time. Stream the game here.
