After spending nearly 20 years on the staff at Creighton, Darian DeVries has rapidly scaled the college basketball head coaching ranks. He got his chance to lead a program with Drake in 2018, spent a season at West Virginia, and then was hired as the Indiana Hoosiers basketball coach last month. After piling up a 169-68 record over the last seven seasons, he'll embark on a journey to restore the Indiana basketball roster to its rightful place as one of college basketball's elite programs. The college basketball transfer portal opened less than a week after DeVries was hired and finding experienced players to help overhaul the Indiana basketball lineup has been a top priority.

Indiana basketball roster news
In the two weeks since the college basketball transfer portal opened, DeVries has secured three commitments. His son Tucker DeVries will follow his father to Bloomington after playing for him at Drake and West Virginia. DeVries also went to the well with DePaul point guard Conor Enright, who played two seasons for DeVries at Drake before deciding to take his talents to the Big East.
The third commitment came on Sunday from 6-foot-10 Davidson forward Reed Bailey. The skilled big man averaged 18.8 points, 6.1 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game last season. Another huge win for DeVries was shoring up the commitment of Class of 2025 signee Trent Sisley, a four-star prospect in the 247Sports composite rankings. The consensus top-100 prospect has impressive shooting touch at 6-foot-7 and can defend multiple positions because of his deceptive length. Get the latest Indiana basketball roster news at Peegs.com.
