Jake Paul vs. Andre August -- Round 1: Paul came out bouncing and throwing a hook and a few soft jabs trying to judge range. Paul stepped in and landed a left and a right but still hadn't sat down on any power. A Paul jab snapped August's head back and he chased that with a body shot. August did connect with a good right hand but Paul took it well and landed one of his own. Paul continued to ride the jab, using the strike to not only connect to the head but set up right hands to the body. August landed another right but Paul blasted him with an uppercut and August crashed to the canvas. August did not beat the count and was sent stumbling into the ropes when he did rise after the fight was waived off. Official result: Jake Paul def. Andre August via KO, Round 1.

Paul made quick work of August with a nasty uppercut that knocked him out cold
On Friday night, for the first time in his professional boxing career, Jake Paul took on an opponent who was not a big name from the world of other sports, entertainment or mixed martial arts when he faced unheralded boxer Andre August in Orlando. Paul did what was expected of him in the bout, scoring a first-round knockout with a crushing uppercut.
August entered the fight with a 10-1-1 record as a professional boxer, though only one of those fights came in the past four years. He wasn't an exciting opponent on paper, though he wasn't an unusual level of opponent for a fighter in their ninth professional bout, as was the case for Paul.
Paul quickly got to work with his jab, using that tool to set up body shots and overhand rights. The jab set-up paid off quickly as he followed the straight left with a right uppercut that clipped August on the chin and sent him crashing to the canvas. August could not beat the referee's count and stumbled badly into the ropes when he stood after the referee had waved off the fight at the 2:32 mark of Round 1.
"I said first-round knockout all week," Paul said after the fight. "I manifested this. This is the power of manifestation. I said I needed to bring back the old 'Problem Child,' I've been too nice to these guys letting them go to the later rounds. ... I don't know what I proved tonight, you know. I'm just going to do me. This is part of the process, the next step to becoming world champion. ... All I wanted to do was give y'all a knockout for Christmas."
Paul said he'd have an announcement on the next step of his career in the coming week but refused to provide any specific details.
"More boxing prospects," Paul said. "More experience. More time in the ring under the bright lights. If the big money fights come, I've got smoke for them too."
Paul is now 8-1 in his career and picked up his second consecutive win since dropping a narrow split decision to Tommy Fury. The knockout was his first stoppage win since his rematch with Tyron Woodley, a stretch of three fights, after four knockouts in his first five professional fights.

The undercard saw a new champion crowned as Franchon Crews-Dezurn outpointed Shadasia Green to claim the WBC super middleweight title. The win could set up a rematch with Savannah Marshall, who also narrowly outpointed Crews-Dezurn in July to become undisputed champion in the division. Plus, Yoenis Tellez delivered a late contender for knockout of the year with his brutal stoppage of Livan Navarro in the 10th round.

Paul and August are in the ring, not much more of a wait before the two throw down in the main event.
With Crews-Dezurn's win over Green, the only fight left on the night is Jake Paul taking on Andre August in a fight designed to get Paul some experience against a "real" "professional" "boxer." Any misstep here basically ends Paul's boxing career immediately.

Shadasia Green vs. Franchon Crews-Dezurn -- Green is just not able to do anything as the sixth round ends. Crews-Dezurn has been better both inside and at distance. Green looks lost and needs to fight a fight-changing shot or she's going to lose on a wide decision -- much wider than the broadcast team is making things seem.
Shadasia Green vs. Franchon Crews-Dezurn -- Green is known as a big puncher and has a high knockout percentage for women's boxing but she's struggling to land many clean shots through three rounds that could set up such a finish. Crews-Dezurn is pushing forward and smothering the power for the most part. Neither woman has really grabbed control of the fight but Green certainly isn't getting the space to do the work she wants to do.
Shadasia Green (13-0, 11 KO) vs Franchon Crews-Dezurn (8-2, 2 KO) is up next. It's a 10 round women's super middleweight bout for the vacant WBC title and WBA interim title.
Official result: Yoenis Tellez def. Livan Navarro via KO, Round 10. A good fight for Tellez to get experience and ring time. Navarro was game throughout, though Tellez was simply the better fighter. When Tellez could have cruised in the final rounds, he never took his foot off the gas and that led to a brutal left hook right on the chin that sent Novaro down and out as his head went off and under the bottom rope.
Yoenis Tellez vs. Livan Navarro: Navarro is game and is still in there trying to win, but through six rounds, it's becoming increasingly all Tellez. Tellez is also mixing in some nasty body work but Navarro keeps doing what he can to survive round after round.
Yoenis Tellez vs. Livan Navarro: A competitive fight through three rounds between Cuban fighters. Tellez turned the tide in a big way in Round 3, scoring a knockdown and nearly dropping Navarro again late in the round before the bell sounded.
