Preseason has arrived in NWSL with voluntary reporting, and rosters are taking serious shape. The CBA and NWSL rules allow teams the flexibility to hold a 6-8 week preseason camp no later than Feb 6, and some clubs have already released their preseason rosters, locking in their player pool to build on for the regular season.
Chicago Red Stars, OL Reign, and Washington Spirit are just a few clubs that have announced their preseason rosters, while others are still making moves in the offseason. Angel City FC recently signed Kaitlyn Johnson on a two-year deal out of the free agency market. A six-year veteran of the league, Johnson joins the club after one season with San Diego Wave FC.
"I'm so excited to play at BMO Stadium, feeling the environment and community that has already grown in one year," said Johnson in a club statement. "I want to bring championships and trophies to Angel City and to LA. I've had pretty good success at home in LA in high school, and in college at USC, so to hopefully bring one to Angel City would be a big accomplishment."

The free agency list is nearly depleted after Johnson's recent signing with Angel City FC. There are only 10 free agents remaining, down from the initial 45 eligible player list. The NWSL regular season officially begins on March 25.
