Kylian Mbappe's X account was apparently hacked overnight on Wednesday, with the Real Madrid forward's name put to a series of posts that included digs at Lionel Messi, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City.

Mbappe and his management team appear to have regained control of the account with all the offending posts deleted, including what appeared to be a crypto scam related to an MBAPPE token. The account also waded into some of the more vitriolic internet debates, posting: "Cristiano Ronaldo is the greatest football player of all time. The midget [Lionel Messi] is NOT my goat."

Whoever had control of his account appeared to be a Manchester United fan with posts stating "Manchester is Red" and "Yo @ManCity... lool baited I'm going to @ManUTD. 2028 LET'S RUN IT UP ON A FREE TRANSFERRRR."

Those posts were swiftly deleted, neither Mbappe nor his management have acknowledged the hack, which also saw posts laughing at Tottenham and Chelsea. With normality restored the 25 year old's 14.4 million followers on X are now treated to a post celebrating his first silverware with new club Real Madrid, the Super Cup in which he scored his first goal since leaving Paris Saint-Germain, the second in a 2-0 win over Europa League winners Atalanta.

Mbappe has failed to find the net in his first two La Liga games, a 1-1 draw in Mallorca and 3-0 victory over Real Valladolid.
