Zadina (lower body) isn't with the Sharks for their two-game road trip, ending his 2023-24 campaign, Curtis Pashelka of The San Jose Mercury News reports Monday. Zadina will end the year by missing the final five games of the campaign due to his lower-body issue. Prior to getting hurt, the 24-year-old had managed a lone point in his last 13 appearances. Despite the recent slump, Zadina scored a career-high 13 goals, though it came with a career-worst minus-44 rating.... See More ... See Less

Sharks' Filip Zadina: Not ready to return Saturday
Zadina (lower body) is feeling better but won't return for Saturday's game against Minnesota, per Curtis Pashelka of The San Jose Mercury News. The fact that Zadina is making progress in his recovery does leave the door open for him to return before the end of the campaign. The Sharks will play against Edmonton on Monday and conclude the season with a contest versus Calgary on Thursday. The 24-year-old forward has 13 goals and 23 points over 72 outings in 2023-24.... Sharks' Filip Zadina: Won't play Tuesday
Zadina (lower body) won't play Tuesday versus the Flames. Zadina was announced as unavailable just before warmups. The 24-year-old winger has 23 points and a minus-44 rating over 72 contests. It's unclear if he'll be able to play Thursday versus the Kraken.... See More ... See Less -
Sharks' Filip Zadina: Capitalizes on turnover
Zadina scored a goal on two shots and blocked two shots in Saturday's 4-0 win over the Blues. The Blues coughed up the puck in their own zone, and Zadina got to it before anyone else to tally the opening goal. He snapped an eight-game slump with his goal Saturday. The 24-year-old winger is up to 13 tallies, 23 points, 131 shots on net, 53 hits and a minus-40 rating through 68 appearances. Zadina has mainly seen bottom-six minutes in his first year with the Sharks, but he's had some bursts of production anyway.... See More ... See Less -
Sharks' Filip Zadina: Two goals in defeat
Zadina scored a pair of goals in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to Philadelphia. Both of Zadina's markers came on the power play -- he beat Samuel Ersson with a backhander to get San Jose on the board in the final minute of the first period before deflecting a Luke Kunin feed to tie the game 2-2 in the second. The 24-year-old Zadina has four goals in his last six contests. He's up to 12 goals, a new career high, and 22 points through 59 outings this season.... See More ... See Less -
Sharks' Filip Zadina: Pots goal in overtime loss
Zadina scored a goal on two shots and went minus-2 in Tuesday's 7-6 overtime loss to the Stars. Zadina has 10 goals on the year, five of which he's scored in the last nine contests. The winger is up to 20 points, 104 shots on net, 43 hits and a minus-29 rating through 56 outings. There are still flaws in his game, but Zadina has shown some growth in the second half of the campaign while logging middle-six minutes.... See More ... See Less -
Sharks' Filip Zadina: Tallies in shootout loss
Zadina scored a goal on two shots, added two PIM, levied two hits and went plus-2 in Saturday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Stars. Zadina has four goals and two assists over his last seven outings. The 24-year-old has spent the last four games in a second-line role, and while he's had mixed results, it's encouraging that he's still getting those looks. The winger has 19 points, 100 shots on net, 42 hits and a minus-25 rating through 54 appearances in his first year with the Sharks, giving him a chance to top his career high of 24 points from 2021-22 with the Red Wings.... Sharks' Filip Zadina: Career night in win
Zadina scored two goals, dished two assists and went plus-3 in Thursday's 6-3 win over the Flames. This was Zadina's first career four-point game. He set up the Sharks' first two goals, which came off turnovers by the Flames, and then he scored twice in 37 seconds in the third period. Prior to Thursday, Zadina had picked up just one assist over his previous nine outings. The 24-year-old has 17 points, 84 shots on net and a minus-23 rating through 48 contests. He'll need to find some consistency to be an option for most fantasy managers.... See More ... See Less -
Sharks' Filip Zadina: Collects two assists
Zadina registered a pair of assists, five shots on goal and a minus-2 rating in Saturday's 7-4 loss to the Canucks. Zadina has four points over his last three games. He's spent the last two full contests in a top-line role, and the increased playing time has had an instant impact on his success. For the season, Zadina has 10 points, 50 shots and a minus-23 rating over 29 appearances. The 24-year-old could be an asset in deeper formats as long as he maintains his larger role.... See More ... Sharks' Filip Zadina: Benefits from top-line move
Zadina scored a goal on six shots in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Coyotes. Zadina scored after scooping up a loose puck early in the third period. This was Zadina's first game on the Sharks' top line and he made the most of the opportunity alongside Tomas Hertl and William Eklund. Zadina has three points over his last six games and eight points, 45 shots and a minus-21 rating through 28 outings overall.... See More ... See Less -
Sharks' Filip Zadina: Registers helper Sunday
Zadina notched an assist and three shots on goal in Sunday's 5-4 shootout loss to the Golden Knights. The helper was Zadina's first point in three games since he returned from an upper-body injury. The 24-year-old winger has seen bottom-six minutes since his return, so his lack of production isn't surprising. He's at six points, 35 shots on net and a minus-19 rating through 23 appearances in his first season with the Sharks. That's roughly in line with the seven points in 30 games Zadina generated with the Red Wings in 2022-23.... See More ... See Less -
Sharks' Filip Zadina: Ready to return
Zadina (upper body) will be activated from injured reserve ahead of his return to the lineup Tuesday versus the Islanders, per Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now. Zadina, who has missed the past five games, has picked up three goals, two assists and 30 shots on net over 20 outings this season. He is projected to occupy a spot on the fourth line in his return to the lineup.... See More ... See Less -
Sharks' Filip Zadina: Lands on IR
Zadina (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Monday. Zadina sat out Saturday's 4-3 win over Vancouver after he was injured in Friday's 3-2 shootout loss to Montreal. He will miss at least the next three contests, starting with Monday's matchup against Washington. Zadina has three goals, two assists and 30 shots on net over 20 outings this season. In a corresponding move, Justin Bailey was added to the Sharks' roster after signing a one-year, two-way contract.... See More ... See Less -
Sharks' Filip Zadina: Dealing with upper-body issue
Zadina left Friday's game against Montreal due to a "nagging" upper-body injury, Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now reports. Zadina put one shot on net while logging just 4:14 of ice time Friday. The 23-year-old has yet to miss a game this season but it sounds like he's been playing through a minor issue for some time. His status for Saturday's matchup with the Canucks is still unclear.... Sharks' Filip Zadina: Exits Friday's game
Zadina won't return to Friday's game against Montreal after sustaining an undisclosed injury. Zadina logged just 4:14 of ice time before exiting the contest. Going into Friday's action, he had three goals and five points in 19 outings. Kevin Labanc (upper body) isn't playing Friday but was able to participate in the pregame warmups, so if Zadina isn't available Saturday versus Vancouver, then perhaps his exit will correspond with Labanc's return.... Sharks' Filip Zadina: Contributes two assists
Zadina notched two assists in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Blues. Zadina helped out on both of Mike Hoffman's tallies in the contest as the wingers found some chemistry on the third line. This was Zadina's first multi-point effort of the season. The 23-year-old has three goals, two helpers, 23 shots on net and a minus-15 rating over 17 appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Sharks' Filip Zadina: Nets game-winner
Zadina scored a goal in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Oilers. Zadina tallied at 1:53 of the third period, and his goal stood as the game-winner. The 23-year-old snapped a nine-game point drought with the tally. He's at three goals, 20 shots on net and a minus-13 rating through 13 appearances this season. He played on the third line Thursday, but he's bounced around the lineup a bit as head coach David Quinn has searched for any chemistry among his forwards.... See More ... See Less -
Sharks' Filip Zadina: Strikes on power play
Zadina scored a power-play goal and added two PIM in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Hurricanes. Zadina tied the game at 2-2 with a quick response to Jaccob Slavin's shorthanded marker in the second period. The goal was Zadina's second in three games this season. The 23-year-old has added eight shots on net and a minus-2 rating. He saw just 14:13 of ice time in this contest, though it's unclear if that's an indication Zadina may be losing his grip on a first-line role.... See More ... See Less -
Sharks' Filip Zadina: Scores in San Jose debut
Zadina scored a goal on four shots in Thursday's 4-1 loss to the Golden Knights. Zadina's goal may have been about the only bright spot for the Sharks in this game. The 23-year-old was signed by the Sharks after he agreed to terminate his contract with the Red Wings. Zadina figures to get a larger opportunity in San Jose than he was ever afforded in Detroit, but how much that translates into production remains to be seen. He never posted more than 24 points in any of his five seasons with the Red Wings, but he's off to a solid start in 2023-24.... See More ... See Less -
Sharks' Filip Zadina: Ready to rock
Zadina (undisclosed) is expected to play in Tuesday's preseason matchup versus Vegas, Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now reports. Zadina has been brought along slowly since suffering an injury Sept. 27 against Anaheim. He is slated to play alongside Nico Sturm and Alexander Barabanov in Tuesday's contest. Zadina is projected to be a middle-six forward for the Sharks this campaign.... See More ... See Less
