Panthers' Aleksi Heponiemi: Signs in Switzerland
Heponiemi signed a one-year contract with EHC Biel of Switzerland's National League on Friday, George Richards of Florida Hockey Now reports.
Heponiemi appeared in 25 games over three years during his time in the NHL, scoring twice and adding four assists over that span. He spent most of his time with AHL Charlotte over the last two seasons. Heponiemi had 12 goals and 31 assists in 62 AHL games in 2022-23. The Panthers gave Heponiemi a qualifying offer in June, so they will retain his NHL rights for the time being.

Heponiemi was reassigned to AHL Charlotte on Wednesday, George Richards of Florida Hockey Now reports.
With Anton Lundell (upper body) set to return to the lineup against New Jersey on Wednesday, the Panthers are no longer in need of Heponiemi's services up front. Heponiemi, who's picked up three points through 10 top-level appearances this campaign, will likely continue to bounce between levels throughout the season.
