  • Red Wings' Ville Husso: Remains week-to-week

Husso (lower body) is still week-to-week but should return before the end of the regular season, according to Ansar Khan of MLive.com on Wednesday. Husso hasn't been in net since Feb. 13. He has a 9-5-2 record, 3.55 GAA and .892 save percentage in 19 appearances in 2023-24. Detroit figures to continue to lean heavily on Alex Lyon during Husso's absence.

  • Red Wings' Ville Husso: At practice Monday

Husso (lower body) participated in practice Monday for the first time since getting hurt against Edmonton on Feb. 13, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports. While Husso is practicing, head coach Derek Lalonde told Ansar Khan of MLive.com that the goalie isn't much closer to return and remains week-to-week. Considering he has made just one appearance in goal over the Red Wings' last 30 contests, fantasy managers probably shouldn't be expecting him to be immediately thrust into the crease or to supplant Alex Lyon as the No. 1 option for Detroit even when he's cleared to play.

Husso is week-to-week with a lower-body injury. Husso suffered the lower-body injury just 8:48 into Tuesday's 8-4 loss to Edmonton. It was his first game with the Red Wings since Dec. 18 due to a different lower-body injury. Husso has a 9-5-2 record, 3.55 GAA and .892 save percentage in 19 appearances in 2023-24. James Reimer is projected to primarily back up Alex Lyon during Husso's absence.

  • Red Wings' Ville Husso: Hurt in Tuesday's game

Husso was hurt when the Oilers scored their first goal in Tuesday's game, Jason Gregor of Sports 1440 Edmonton reports. Per the team, Husso sustained a lower-body injury. Husso was replaced by Alex Lyon immediately following Leon Draisaitl's tally. This was Husso's first game since Dec. 18, but he lasted just 8:48, stopping six of seven shots. If Husso has aggravated a previous lower-body injury, Lyon and James Reimer will likely take over as the goaltending duo for the Red Wings.

Husso will protect the road goal versus the Oilers on Tuesday. Husso will get his first action since Dec. 18 after missing time with a lower-body injury and an illness. Husso (illness) is set to be available for Saturday's home game versus Vancouver, per Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press on Thursday. Husso has a 9-5-2 record, 3.53 GAA and .893 save percentage in 18 contests this season. Husso (illness) is not expected to be in the lineup for Wednesday's home matchup against Ottawa, according to Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press. • Red Wings' Ville Husso: Finishes AHL conditioning stint

Husso (lower body) completed his conditioning stint with AHL Grand Rapids on Saturday. Husso earned a 25-save shutout Friday in his lone start during the conditioning stint. He hadn't played with the Red Wings since Dec. 18 because of the lower-body injury, so his time in the AHL helped shake off the rust. Alex Lyon is expected to start in Saturday's home game versus Vegas, but Husso is an option to dress as the backup netminder.

  • Red Wings' Ville Husso: Perfect in Grand Rapids

Husso was 9-5-2 with a 3.53 GAA and an .893 save percentage in 18 appearances with the Red Wings before his injury. He could return to Detroit as early as Wednesday versus Ottawa, but it is more likely he will come back after the All-Star break and for now may get in extra playing time with the Griffins. Upon his return to the Red Wings, Husso will back up Alex Lyon.

  • Red Wings' Ville Husso: Placed on injured reserve

Husso (lower body) was put on injured reserve Wednesday. Husso was injured during Monday's game, so this move is likely retroactive to that date. • Red Wings' Ville Husso: Tough loss to Carolina

Husso stopped 37 shots in Thursday's 2-1 loss to the Hurricanes. The 28-year-old netminder made only one real mistake on the night, but it proved costly -- Husso came out of his crease to try and handle a dump-in attempt in the second period, only to whiff on the puck completely. It bounced off the end boards and slid right in front of the net, gifting the game-winning goal to Jordan Staal. It's just the second time in his last 12 starts that Husso has allowed fewer than three goals, and over that stretch he's stumbled to a 3.75 GAA and .888 save percentage despite a 6-4-2 record. With Alex Lyon's hot streak having faded and James Reimer still trying to find his form, however, Husso figures to remain Detroit's No. 1 goalie by default, at least for now.

  • Red Wings' Ville Husso: Facing Hurricanes

Husso will patrol the home crease versus Carolina on Thursday, Red Wings' host Carley Johnston reports. Husso was a little shaky in his last start Tuesday against St. Louis, surrendering four goals on 37 shots, but he still came away with a victory thanks to fantastic offensive support from his teammates. The 28-year-old netminder will attempt to pick up his 10th win of the season in a home matchup with a Hurricanes squad that's averaging 3.00 goals per game on the road this year, 18th in the NHL.

Husso stopped 33 shots in Tuesday's 6-4 win over the Blues. Facing the club that selected him in the fourth round of the 2014 NHL Draft, Husso had a bit of a shaky second period but bounced back in the third as Detroit scored three unanswered goals to put the game away. The 28-year-old netminder has just one regulation loss in his last six starts, going 4-1-1 over that stretch, but his 3.84 GAA and .881 save percentage during that time aren't making a strong case for more playing time.
