  • Evan Fitzpatrick: Cut loose from PTO

Fitzpatrick was released from his professional tryout with the Lightning on Saturday and returned to AHL Syracuse.

Fitzpatrick, who agreed to a one-year deal with the Crunch in July, posted an 11-3-1 record with a 2.25 GAA and a .921 save percentage in 17 ECHL contests for Florida last season. The 25-year-old netminder doesn't have any NHL experience yet.

  • Panthers' Evan Fitzpatrick: Signed then waived

Fitzpatrick signed a contract with the Panthers on Thursday and was subsequently placed on waivers, per Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.

In the highly likely event he passes through waivers unclaimed, Fitzpatrick will join Florida's AHL affiliate. He's gone 8-3-0 while posting a 2.68 GAA and a .907 save percentage with the ECHL's Florida Everblades this season.

  • Panthers' Evan Fitzpatrick: Sent to AHL

Fitzpatrick was reassigned from the taxi squad to AHL Charlotte on Saturday.

Fitzpatrick signed a one-year, two-way deal with the Panthers on Jan. 14. He's been a pro since 2018-19 but has yet to make his NHL debut, spending most of his time in the ECHL. In 10 games with ECHL Greenville this season, Fitzpatrick has put up a 2.54 GAA and .911 save percentage.

  • Panthers' Evan Fitzpatrick: Signs with Panthers

Fitzpatrick signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Panthers and was added to the taxi squad Friday.

Fitzpatrick has yet to make his NHL debut. The 23-year-old may receive a call-up to backup Sergei Bobrovsky in light of Jonas Johansson (COVID-19 protocols) and Spencer Knight's (COVID-19 protocols) absences.

  • Panthers' Evan Fitzpatrick: In camp on tryout

Fitzpatrick agreed to a professional tryout agreement with the Panthers ahead of training camp, per CapFriendly.

Selected by the Blues in the second round of the 2016 NHL Draft, Fitzpatrick has yet to make his NHL debut. With both Sergei Bobrovsky and Spencer Knight under contract for the upcoming season, Fitzpatrick's best hope will be to earn a two-way deal that will see him primarily playing in the minors.

  • Evan Fitzpatrick: Not issued qualifying offer

Fitzpatrick will not receive a qualifying offer from the Blues on Monday and will become an unrestricted free agent, Jeremy Rutherford of The Athletic reports.

Fitzpatrick played in just three games this past season for AHL Utica in which he went 2-0-0 with a 1.65 GAA and .930 save percentage. With Jordan Binnington locked up long term and Colten Ellis and Joel Hofer in the system, it seems Fitzpatrick was the odd man out, though he could still sign a minor-league contract to remain loosely tied to the organization.

  • Blues' Evan Fitzpatrick: Headed back to minors

The Blues demoted Fitzpatrick back to AHL San Antonio on Saturday, Jim Thomas of The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Fitzpatrick saw a brief promotion from the minors following a couple of good games with AHL San Antonio, but he will now return to get some more seasoning at a place where the 20-year-old can receive ample playing time. Jordan Binnington was recalled to replace Fitzpatrick on the active roster.

  • Blues' Evan Fitzpatrick: Makes leap to big club

The Blues recalled Fitzpatrick from AHL San Antonio on Sunday.

The move pushed Jordan Binnington back down to minors. Fitzpatrick has clearly impressed the Blues coaching staff in his first pro season, as he started out with ECHL Tulsa and won November's Rookie of the Month award. He was promoted to San Antonio when the Blues released backup goalie Chad Johnson and appeared in two games, recording a .913 save percentage. The 20-year-old likely won't make a start, but Allen has been pulled plenty of times this season to open the door for Fitzpatrick to make his NHL debut.

  • Blues' Evan Fitzpatrick: Will push for AHL role

Fitzpatrick will compete for the No. 2 role with AHL San Antonio, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.

Fitzpatrick is coming off an up-and-down 2017-18 in the Canadian juniors, but he ended it on a high note with QMJHL/Memorial Cup championships. The 20-year-old netminder was a huge part of Acadie-Bathurst Titan's playoff run, as he notched a .925 save percentage and 2.10 GAA to win 16 of 20 games. Making AHL San Antonio would be a huge stride for Fitzpatrick's development, but he'll be battling Jordan Binnington, who is coming off an excellent season with AHL Providence. Fitzpatrick still has junior eligibility and Binnington does not, so returning Fitzpatrick to Canada could keep both goalies on the ice.

  • Blues' Evan Fitzpatrick: Posts shutout in Memorial Cup Championship

Fitzpatrick stopped all 28 shots he faced to help lead QMJHL Acadie-Bathurst to a 3-0 win over WHL Regina in the 2018 Memorial Cup Championship on Sunday.

After having shockingly little work over the course of the first two periods, Fitzpatrick turned aside 17 shots he faced in the final frame to help lead the Titan to victory. A perennial underachiever throughout the early part of his QMJHL career, Fitzpatrick got a new lease on life following his trade to Acadie-Bathurst in early January. With Fitzpatrick historically being long on potential and short on performance, the Blues are hoping this strong playoff run will help turn his career around. The 20-year-old goalkeeper should open next season with St. Louis' AHL affiliate in San Antonio.

  • Blues' Evan Fitzpatrick: Leads squad to championship

The Acadie-Bathurst Titan won a QMJHL Championship with Fitzpatrick in net.

The Blues' 2016 second-round pick (56th overall) started every playoff game and posted a 16-4 record while accruing an outstanding .925 save percentage, 2.10 GAA and two shutouts. This is the last year of Fitzpatrick's junior eligibility, but he'll have a few more games when Acadie-Bathurst fights for the Memorial Cup -- a trophy awarded to the top team out of the OHL, QMJHL and WHL -- later in May. It's no secret that the Blues struggled in the crease during 2017-18, and Fitzpatrick slumped in the beginning of this season as well, posting a .874 save percentage for Sherbrooke Phoenix before being traded. Therefore, Fitzpatrick will play with AHL San Antonio next season and battle for starts behind two-year veteran Ville Husso.

  • Blues' Evan Fitzpatrick: Agrees on three-year ELC

Fitzpatrick has agreed to terms on a three-year entry level contract with the Blues.

The 19-year-old netminder has spent each of the last three campaigns in junior hockey, posting numbers that don't pop off the stat sheet. So far this season, Fitzpatrick owns just an .899 save percentage and 3.46 GAA with the Sherbrooke Phoenix of the QMJHL, but should receive more advanced tutelage at the AHL level of play. A second-round pick in 2016, it's still too early to count on Fitzpatrick anytime soon, especially with 26-year-old Jake Allen manning the crease for the Blues on a nightly basis.
