Fitzpatrick, who agreed to a one-year deal with the Crunch in July, posted an 11-3-1 record with a 2.25 GAA and a .921 save percentage in 17 ECHL contests for Florida last season. The 25-year-old netminder doesn't have any NHL experience yet.

Making AHL San Antonio would be a huge stride for Fitzpatrick's development, but he'll be battling Jordan Binnington, who is coming off an excellent season with AHL Providence. Fitzpatrick still has junior eligibility and Binnington does not, so returning Fitzpatrick to Canada could keep both goalies on the ice.

The 19-year-old netminder has spent each of the last three campaigns in junior hockey, posting numbers that don't pop off the stat sheet. So far this season, Fitzpatrick owns just an .899 save percentage and 3.46 GAA with the Sherbrooke Phoenix of the QMJHL, but should receive more advanced tutelage at the AHL level of play. A second-round pick in 2016, it's still too early to count on Fitzpatrick anytime soon, especially with 26-year-old Jake Allen manning the crease for the Blues on a nightly basis.
