Red Wings' Daniel Sprong: Signs with Detroit
Sprong (upper body)) signed a one-year, $2 million contract with Detroit on Saturday, Jeff Marek of Sportsnet reports.
Sprong broke out in 2022-23, scoring 21 goals and 46 points in 66 games with Seattle. However, he didn't receive a qualifying offer from the Kraken, which allowed the Red Wings to add him as an unrestricted free agent. Sprong should slot in as a middle-six forward during the 2023-24 campaign.

Daniel Sprong: Not given qualifying offer
Sprong (upper body) wasn't given a qualifying offer by the Kraken on Friday and will become an unrestricted free agent, Chris Johnston of TSN reports.
Sprong had his best season in the NHL in 2022-23, scoring 21 goals and adding 25 assists. He averaged only 11:25 of ice time in 66 games and at the age of 26, he should catch on with another NHL team next season.
