Edmonton released Peters from his professional tryout agreement Saturday and assigned him to AHL Bakersfield.
Peters signed a one-year AHL extension for the 2023-24 season with the Condors in April. The 27-year-old blueliner earned eight goals and 19 points in 49 contests with Bakersfield last campaign.

Peters was cut from Stars training camp on Wednesday.Peters is tagged as an offensive-minded blue liner, but he hasn't had much chance to show it in juniors, taking a step backward in his 17-year-old season, then missing most of last season with an injury. He's joining a new team this year and is slated to serve as captain, which should aid his development.
