Burroughs scored a goal on four shots, doled out six hits, blocked three shots, added two PIM and went plus-2 in Thursday's 3-1 win over the Kraken. Burroughs snapped a 23-game point drought with the tally, which was his first career game-winner. The 28-year-old defenseman is up to eight points, 77 shots on net, 71 PIM, 221 hits and 127 blocked shots through 70 contests. The Sharks have given him a steady role for the first time in his career, but his physicality is his best contribution for fantasy purposes, as his offense remains limited.... See More ... See Less

Sharks' Kyle Burroughs: Draws assist in win
Burroughs posted a power-play assist, three hits, two blocked shots and a minus-2 rating in Thursday's 6-3 win over the Flames. Burroughs has two helpers over his last three games. He assisted on the first of Luke Kunin's two goals in this contest. Burroughs has moved around the Sharks' lineup a lot this season, but it appears he's stuck in a bottom-four role for now. He's at seven points, 50 shots on net, 128 hits, 88 blocked shots, 51 PIM and a minus-27 rating through 46 appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Sharks' Kyle Burroughs: Snags helper in overtime loss
Burroughs notched an assist, four hits and three blocked shots in Wednesday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Ducks. Burroughs was scratched Tuesday, but he checked back in with Ty Emberson (upper body) out. Burroughs picked up two points over nine outings in January, but he doesn't appear to be a lock for the lineup anymore. The 28-year-old defenseman has a career-high six points with 48 shots on net, 51 PIM, 85 blocked shots, 108 hits and a minus-24 rating over 44 appearances overall this year.... See More ... Sharks' Kyle Burroughs: Good to go
Burroughs (lower body) will be back in the lineup Tuesday against Toronto, per Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now. Burroughs is slated to play alongside Calen Addison following a two-game absence. The 28-year-old Burroughs has produced four assists, 39 shots on goal, 73 blocked shots and 87 hits across 36 appearances this season.... See More ... See Less -
Sharks' Kyle Burroughs: Not playing versus Toronto
Burroughs (lower body) will not play Saturday versus the Maple Leafs, Max Miller of The Hockey News reports. Burroughs will miss a second game with the injury. Nikita Okhotyuk will replace Burroughs in the lineup for this contest. The Sharks' next game is a rematch in Toronto on Tuesday.... See More ... See Less -
Sharks' Kyle Burroughs: Has lower-body injury
Burroughs will miss Thursday's game against Winnipeg because of a lower-body injury, per Max Miller of The Hockey News. Burroughs has four assists, 36 PIM, 87 hits and 73 blocks in 36 contests this season. Marc-Edouard Vlasic will draw into the lineup after being scratched for San Jose's previous four games. Burroughs is day-to-day, so he might be able to return Saturday versus Toronto.... See More ... See Less -
Sharks' Kyle Burroughs: Hands out helper
Burroughs notched an assist, two shots on goal, two PIM, four hits and four blocked shots in Sunday's 5-4 shootout loss to the Golden Knights. Burroughs has picked up an assist in three of the last four contests. The 28-year-old defenseman is likely benefiting from the Sharks scoring at least four goals in all five of their games in December -- some of that offense is trickling down to the physical blueliner. He's at four assists, 31 shots on net, 33 PIM, 55 blocked shots and 57 hits through 27 outings overall. Burroughs' defensive skill set should help him stay in a top-four role.... See More ... Sharks' Kyle Burroughs: Gets on scoresheet with assist
Burroughs notched an assist, two hits, two blocked shots and five PIM in Wednesday's 7-1 loss to the Kraken. Burroughs fought Brandon Tanev in the second period after a run-in at the blue line. In the third, Burroughs was credited with the secondary helper on Mike Hoffman's goal. The assist was Burroughs' first point in 18 outings with the Sharks this season. The 28-year-old blueliner has added 23 shots on net, 22 PIM, 33 his, 34 blocked shots and a minus-11 rating while filling a top-four role in most contests.... See More ... See Less -
Sharks' Kyle Burroughs: Signs with San Jose
Burroughs signed a three-year, $3.3 million contract with the Sharks on Saturday, Dan Murphy of Sportsnet reports. Burroughs drew into 48 games with the Canucks last season, picking up five points, 62 PIM, 165 hits and 84 blocks while averaging 17:22 of ice time per contest. The 2013 seventh-round pick will likely produce similar totals as a rotational, bottom-pairing option for San Jose in 2023-24.... See More ... See Less -
Canucks' Kyle Burroughs: Collects two helpers
Burroughs notched two assists, two shots on goal, five hits and a fighting major in Thursday's 5-4 overtime win over the Coyotes. Burroughs' toughness was on full display, as he fought Coyotes defenseman Josh Brown in the third period. Burroughs snapped an 18-game point drought in the season finale, and he ended the campaign with two goals and three helpers in 48 appearances. The 27-year-old added 62 PIM, 165 hits, 84 blocked shots, 47 shots on net and a minus-4 rating.... See More ... See Less -
Canucks' Kyle Burroughs: Extends point drought
Burroughs is up to 15 consecutive games without finding the scoresheet. Burroughs has two goals and an assist through 44 games this season. His limited fantasy value comes from his 55 PIM, 155 hits and 77 blocks.... See More ... See Less -
Canucks' Kyle Burroughs: Pockets helper Monday
Burroughs notched an assist and five hits in Monday's 4-3 shootout win over the Predators. The helper was Burroughs' first point since he scored a goal Nov. 27 in San Jose. In that span, the defenseman sat out 25 games as a healthy scratch, and he went empty in 15 contests. The 27-year-old has three points, 96 hits, 49 blocked shots, 37 PIM, 29 shots on net and a minus-10 rating through 29 appearances, providing more toughness than scoring in a bottom-four role.... See More ... See Less -
Canucks' Kyle Burroughs: Stuck in press box
Burroughs has been a healthy scratch during the past eight games. With the Canucks blue line getting healthier, Burroughs finds himself as the odd one out. He's played 17 games this season, posting two goals, 15 shots, 30 PIM, 56 hits, 36 blocks, and a minus-10 rating. It's safe to keep him off your fantasy roster until he sees regular playing time again.... See More ... See Less -
Canucks' Kyle Burroughs: Finds back of net
Burroughs notched a goal and a fight during Saturday's loss to the Flyers. The tally marks Burroughs' second career NHL goal. The 27-year-old has 49 games under his belt, playing a more physical role. Don't expect him to contribute offensively on a regular basis, but he will help with PIM and hits.... See More ... Canucks' Kyle Burroughs: Lands on injured reserve
Burroughs (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Friday, per CapFriendly. As of Monday, Burroughs is considered week-to-week with the injury. Phil Di Giuseppe was called up from AHL Abbotsford in a corresponding move. Burroughs is unlikely to play again in February, though fantasy managers don't need to track the physical defenseman's recovery closely.... See More ... See Less -
Canucks' Kyle Burroughs: Labeled week-to-week
Burroughs is considered week-to-week with an upper-body injury, Brendan Batchelor of Sportsnet 650 reports. Burroughs was forced out of Saturday's matchup with Anaheim after just 1:04 of ice time and will now be sidelined for at least the next four games based on the team's timeline. Depending on how long the 26-year-old Vancouver native is expected to be out, the team could opt to put him on injured reserve in order to clear a roster spot.... See More ... See Less -
Canucks' Kyle Burroughs: Exits Saturday's contest
Burroughs (undisclosed) won't return to Saturday's game versus the Ducks. Burroughs was hurt on just his second shift of the game. The Canucks didn't specify the nature of his injury. The 26-year-old should be considered day-to-day until further information is available. Brad Hunt would likely replace Burroughs in the lineup if he has to miss any time.... See More ... See Less -
Canucks' Kyle Burroughs: Activated off IR
Burroughs (leg) was removed from injured reserve Tuesday. Burroughs has missed the last five games with a leg injury. His last appearance was in a 3-1 loss to St. Louis on Jan. 23. The 26-year-old has averaged 13:04 of ice time and recorded three points over 31 appearances this season. He was held without a point over his five most recent performances.... See More ... See Less -
Canucks' Kyle Burroughs: Out until early February
Burroughs (leg) won't return before the All-Star Break, Farhan Lalji of TSN reports. Burroughs missed Tuesday's game versus Edmonton and will miss at least four more while he recovers from the leg injury. The defenseman's meager production (three points in 31 games) has led to a reduction in playing time this month, so he doesn't figure to be a staple in Vancouver's defense corps once healthy.... See More ... See Less -
Canucks' Kyle Burroughs: Dealing with leg injury
Burroughs was seen using a medical scooter after Tuesday's game versus the Oilers, Jeff Paterson of TSN 1040 Vancouver reports. Burroughs has been in and out of the lineup in January, most recently playing in a 3-1 loss to the Blues on Sunday. It's unclear when he suffered the injury, but he may need to miss some time to recover. Ashton Sautner and Brad Hunt will compete for playing time as long as Burroughs is out.... See More ... Dan Rusanowsky@DanRusanowsky1D agoEvery game and every point is important. One way to look at today: DET had a 4-0 lead on SJ on Dec. 7th. #SJSharks roared back to win in OT on a goal by Mikael Granlund. That one point lost actually cost DET the playoffs. Other ways to calculate it but that’s one way.
