  • Predators' Cole Schneider: Re-signs with AHL team

Schneider signed Wednesday with AHL Milwaukee on a one-year contract.

Schneider will begin his second stint with Milwaukee after he spent the 2018-19 and 2019-20 campaigns with the Admirals, tallying 28 goals in 78 games over that span. He most recently suited up for AHL Texas in 2020-21 and potted 11 goals while dishing out 17 assists across 36 contests. The 30-year-old winger hasn't appeared at the NHL level since the 2016-17 season, when he skated in four games for the Sabres.

  • Predators' Cole Schneider: Off to Nashville

The Predators acquired Schneider from the Rangers on Monday in exchange for Connor Brickley.

Schneider has recorded 343 points in 465 career AHL contests. Despite having success at the lower level, he's only managed to play six NHL games in his pro career and has only a single assist to show for his efforts. Perhaps a change of scenery will afford Schneider another chance to earn an NHL gig, though the Preds have yet to announce their plans for AHL Hartford's former captain.

  • Rangers' Cole Schneider: Returned to AHL affiliate

The Rangers reassigned Schneider to AHL Hartford on Tuesday.

Schneider's demotion suggests Pavel Buchnevich (thumb) is likely nearing a return to the lineup. The 28-year-old forward will return to a prominent role with Hartford, where he's racked up eight goals and 17 points in 25 appearances this season.

  • Rangers' Cole Schneider: Summoned to parent club

Schneider was called up from AHL Hartford on Saturday, Colin Stephenson of Newsday reports.

The Rangers will be without Mats Zuccarello (groin) and Pavel Buchnevich (thumb) in the upcoming contest against the Panthers, so Schneider enters the picture as a reinforcement option from the left wing. The brawny skater from Williamsville, New York has compiled 135 goals and 200 assists over 454 games in the AHL, but he's only appeared in six games with a single helper representing his point total at hockey's highest level.

  • Rangers' Cole Schneider: Placed on waivers

Schneider was designated for waivers by the Rangers on Friday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.

Schneider was a long shot to make New York's roster coming out of camp. Instead, he's bound to return to the AHL, where he has logged 429 games and 318 points. The 28-year-old could earn the occasional promotion this year, but more likely will spent the majority of the season with the Wolf Pack.

  • Rangers' Cole Schneider: Heads to Big Apple

Schneider, whom the Rangers signed to a two-year, two-way, $1.3 million deal July 1, notched 24 goals and 39 assists with the AHL Roster in the Sabres' organization last season.

The undrafted winger should be excited for a clean slate, as the Sabres granted him only six NHL appearances in the past two years. Still, the two-way aspect of his new deal means that he's likely to continue shuffling between the AHL and NHL.

  • Sabres' Cole Schneider: Reassigned to AHL

Schneider was sent down to AHL Rochester on Saturday.

Schneider had played sparingly with the parent club, despite three forwards -- Nicolas Deslauriers (knee), Jack Eichel (ankle) and Tyler Ennis (groin) -- simultaneously injured. Over Schneider's four games with the Sabres, he was able to notch an assist with a plus-2 rating, proving capable of at least being a fill-in option when needed.

  • Sabres' Cole Schneider: Recalled from minors Saturday

Schneider was called up to Buffalo on Saturday.

It's tough to say how long Schneider's stint with the big club will last as he was granted only two games before being reassigned to AHL Rochester on Nov. 13. In those two games though, he managed an assist and four shots on goal while averaging just 7:49 of ice time, so maybe he will be able to cut out a role for himself on a struggling Buffalo squad this time around.

  • Sabres' Cole Schneider: Sent down Sunday

Schneider was sent to AHL Rochester on Sunday.

The 26-year-old was hot in the AHL before getting called up, and scored one goal in two limited appearances in the NHL, but he'll head back to the minors for the time being. If the Sabres are looking for a scoring boost, it could be Schneider who gets called up to give the team a shot.

  • Sabres' Cole Schneider: Called up to big club Wednesday

Schneider was recalled from AHL Rochester on Wednesday.

Schneider began the 2016-17 season with the Sabres' minor league affiliate but after tallying 15 points in his first 10 games, the 26-year-old was rewarded with a call up to the big club. The playmaking left winger will look to bolster the Sabres' offense as the team currently ranks second to last in goals scored (25) this season. In a corresponding roster move, Hudson Fasching was sent down to the minors.

  • Sabres' Cole Schneider: Inks two-way deal with Buffalo

Schneider signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Sabres on Thursday.

Schneider spent most of the 2015-16 campaign in the minors, but was highly productive, notching 42 points (17 goals, 25 assists) in 54 games with AHL Binghamton and 14 points (four goals, 10 assists) in 19 games with AHL Rochester. The 6-foot-1 winger's ability to rack up points in the minors would seem to suggest he could potentially develop into a solid offensive contributor in the NHL, but at 25-years-old, time is of the essence for Schneider. The New York native will likely get a chance to compete for an Opening Night roster spot in training camp.

  • Sabres' Cole Schneider: Reassigned to AHL Rochester

Schneider was sent back to AHL Rochester on Sunday.

A late bloomer, Schneider has dominated at the AHL level over the past four seasons, earning his first bid at NHL action. While he didn't notch a point in his first taste, the 25-year-old winger did put five shots on goal over the two contests. He'll now return to the minor league ranks but could find himself vying for an NHL roster spot to begin the 2016-17 campaign.

  • Sabres' Cole Schneider: Called up from AHL Rochester

Schneider, acquired in a trade from Ottawa earlier this season, was called up Thursday, The Buffalo News reports.

An unsigned free agent out of UConn, Schneider was a four-year star for Ottawa's AHL affiliate and will make his NHL debut Friday. Schneider will be a restricted free agent at the end of the season, so the Sabres want to see if the 25-year-old has anything to offer at the NHL level as a scoring winger. Since the team is out of the playoff race, helping the Williamsville native achieve his dream of playing for his hometown Sabres come true also doesn't hurt. Despite his scoring prowess in the minors, don't expect fireworks in the NHL, though the team is putting him in a position to succeed by deploying him on Ryan O'Reilly's right wing. It took two years for noted AHL scorer Johan Larsson to nail down a regular NHL job.

  • Sabres' Cole Schneider: Acquired by Buffalo in seven-player trade

Schneider is headed to Buffalo along with three other players in a trade made Saturday, reports the Democrat & Chronicle.

An undrafted player signed out of UConn, Schneider has been a very good player in the AHL with 112 points in 138 games over the past two seasons, and has 42 points in 54 games this season. However, clearly Senators general manager Bryan Murray doesn't see Schneider as part of their long-term plans, but it remains to be seen if he is part of the Sabres' long-term plans. There's a chance that he will get a late-season audition, but so far he's pegged as a depth forward. Schneider is also from nearby Williamsville, the same as Sabres prospect Justin Bailey.
