  • Predators' Tyson Barrie: Not expected to play Saturday

Barrie is expected to be a healthy scratch Saturday against the Rangers, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports. According to Friedman, Barrie has been granted permission to speak to other teams to try to find a fit for a trade. The 32-year-old blueliner has nine assists, 31 shots on goal and 22 blocked shots through 22 outings this season.

  • Predators' Tyson Barrie: Provides two assists Thursday

Barrie registered two assists in a 6-3 loss to Winnipeg on Thursday. Barrie also had a minus-1 rating and one shot in 17:45 of ice time. He has seven assists, 17 shots, an even plus-minus rating and six PIM in 13 contests this season. Barrie endured a cold stretch from Oct. 24-Nov. 7 in which he was limited to an assist over six outings, but perhaps his strong offensive performance Thursday will mark the start of a new hot streak.

  • Predators' Tyson Barrie: Picks up power-play assist

Barrie logged a power-play assist, three shots on goal, two hits, two blocked shots and two PIM in Thursday's 4-2 loss to the Kraken. Barrie had a surprisingly well-rounded effort in this contest, which also saw him snap a three-game point drought. The 32-year-old defenseman has done alright in a bottom-four role with power-play time, earning two of his five assists with the man advantage so far. He's added 16 shots on net, nine blocked shots, five hits, six PIM and a minus-2 rating over 10 appearances.

  • Predators' Tyson Barrie: Helpers keep coming

Barrie notched a second-period assist in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Sharks. Now with four helpers in his last four games, Barrie is off to a nice start with the Preds, playing primarily on the team's second defensive pairing. Although Barrie has yet to notch any points on the power play, he's currently averaging a healthy 3:57 on the man advantage, which bodes well for his PP production going forward. Keep him rolling.

  • Predators' Tyson Barrie: Earns first point of new campaign

Barrie produced an assist in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Bruins. The Predators acquired Barrie from the Oilers at the most recent trade deadline, and he racked up 12 points 24 games after the move. He's always been a supreme puck mover from the blue line, but Nashville's depth at the position has him starting out on the third pairing, albeit with responsibilities on the No. 1 power-play unit.

Barrie notched a goal and an assist in Saturday's 7-2 loss to the Kraken, giving him five points in his last five games. Barrie got off to a tough start with his new team after getting traded to the Preds at the trade deadline, scoring just two points in his first eight games. His helper Monday came at a key moment, as he set up Luke Evangelista's second goal of the game to tie the score at 3-3 late in the third period. • Predators' Tyson Barrie: Gets first goal with new team

Barrie scored a goal on four shots and added two hits in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Blackhawks. This was Barrie's second game as a Predator. He tallied on a deflected shot in the second period, and his goal stood as the game-winner as well as his first point since he was traded from the Oilers. The blueliner has 11 tallies, 33 helpers, 120 shots on net, 69 blocked shots and 45 hits through 63 outings between the two teams. With a weaker supporting cast and a smaller power-play role, it's tough to see Barrie finding the same level of offensive success in Nashville that he did in Edmonton, though he should maintain some fantasy relevance.

  • Predators' Tyson Barrie: Flipped in Ekholm deal

Barrie, along with Reid Schaefer, a 2023 first-round pick and a 2024 fourth-round pick, were traded from the Oilers to the Predators on Tuesday in exchange for Mattias Ekholm and a 2024 sixth-round pick, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports. Barrie's overall outlook will take a significant hit with the move, as the Predators already have Roman Josi to work on their first power-play unit. Barrie should still be a top-four option in Nashville, but it's tough to imagine him replicating anything close to the pace he's shown with 43 points in 61 outings with the Oilers this season.

  • Oilers' Tyson Barrie: Two helpers in Columbus

Barrie picked up two assists, one on the power play, in Saturday's 6-5 loss to the Blue Jackets. Both points came in the second period as the Oilers tried to rally from an early 4-0 deficit, although they ultimately fell short. Barrie extended his point streak to six games in the process, a stretch in which the veteran blueliner has three goals and eight points, including five points (one goal and four helpers) on the power play. He needs just two more points with the man advantage to reach 30 for the second time in his career, after he hit that mark in 2017-18 for the Avalanche.

The 31-year-old blueliner is up to 10 tallies, 31 helpers, 27 power-play points, 108 shots on net, 66 blocked shots, and a minus-4 rating through 59 outings. When his offense is humming, he's a strong play in fantasy given his significant power-play role.
