  • Giants' Makai Polk: Staying with Big Blue

Polk signed a reserve/future contract with the Giants on Monday. Polk signed with the Ravens as an undrafted free agent in May, though he didn't survive the team's final roster cuts and was eventually cut from the team's practice squad Sept. 27. The 21-year-old then immediately signed with the Giants' practice squad, and he received his first elevation ahead of Saturday's divisional-round loss to the Eagles. While he did not see any action during this contest, Polk now will have a chance to carve out a more significant role ahead of the 2023 season.

  • Giants' Makai Polk: Earns first career elevation

The Giants elevated Polk from the practice squad Friday to the active roster for Saturday's divisional-round matchup against Philadelphia, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. Polk, an undrafted rookie out of Mississippi State, spent the majority of the 2022 campaign on the Giants' practice squad but was never elevated to the active roster. Per Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site, Polk's elevation is likely a reward for his time and work on the practice squad, which suggests the wideout isn't expected to see many snaps during the playoff matchup.

  • Makai Polk: Joins Giants' practice squad

The Giants signed Polk to their practice squad Wednesday, Michael Eisen of Giants.com reports. Polk was waived from Baltimore's practice squad Tuesday, but he's already found another opportunity with a different team just one day later. The undrafted rookie out of Mississippi State has good length and played well for the Ravens during the preseason, and with the Giants' wide receivers room dealing with a rash of injuries including Sterling Shepard's (knee) recently torn ACL, Polk arguably has a viable path to his NFL debut.

  • Makai Polk: Let go Tuesday

Polk was cut from the Ravens' practice squad Tuesday. Polk joined the team in the spring as an undrafted free agent out of Mississippi State. After failing to make the 53-man roster, he was signed to the practice squad. He'll now work to earn another opportunity in the NFL.

  • Makai Polk: Added to Ravens' practice squad

Polk joined Baltimore's practice squad Wednesday, Ryan Mink of the Ravens' official site reports. Polk went unclaimed on waivers after being waived Tuesday, so the Ravens added him to the practice squad. He'll be in contention to join the 53-man roster should injuries strike at wide receiver.

  • Makai Polk: Does not make cut

Polk has been waived by the Ravens, Ryan Mink of the team's official website reports. Polk was considered a fringe candidate to make the Ravens' final roster but was ultimately unable to make enough of an impression at camp. Assuming he clears waivers, he will have a chance to revert to Baltimore's practice squad.

  • Ravens' Makai Polk: Sees targets decrease Sunday

Polk caught his lone target for a 19-yard gain in Sunday's preseason game against the Cardinals. Polk saw a whopping eight targets in the preseason opener but was significantly less involved Sunday despite playing 44 percent of the offensive snaps. He caught his lone target, but even that rang hollow as Jeff Zrebiec of the Athletic notes Polk could have turned his reception into a big gain or even a touchdown with better awareness. The Mississippi State product gets one more chance to impress in the preseason with the finale coming Saturday against the Commanders.
