Williams missed out on Tampa Bay's initial 53-man roster, but he's been brought back to the team's practice squad Thursday. The Arizona product rushed for 372 yards and five touchdowns during his final collegiate season in 2023.

DJ Williams: Waived by Tampa Bay
Williams was waived by the Buccaneers on Tuesday, Scott Smith of the team's official site reports.
The running back signed with the Bucs as an undrafted free agent in May. Williams played for Auburn, Florida State and Arizona during his college career, spending his last two seasons with Arizona and rushing for 748 yards and eight touchdowns.

Buccaneers' DJ Williams: Gets extended look Saturday
Williams rushed 10 times for 29 yards and brought in his only target for six yards in the Buccaneers' 17-14 preseason win over the Bengals on Saturday night.
Williams came into the game on the first drive of the second half and tied Sean Tucker for a team high in carries on the night. The undrafted rookie from Arizona is battling Tucker for a reserve running back role behind the projected top duo of Rachaad White and Bucky Irving, and he should be in line for another solid allotment of playing time in a preseason road matchup against the Jaguars on Saturday night.
