Johnson was placed on the practice squad injured list Saturday.
Johnson has spent the majority of his season on the Dolphins' practice squad, but he now will be week-to-week with an undisclosed injury. The 31-year-old has not yet suited up for a game this year and had three tackles in 2022 with Seattle and 32 in 2021 with Denver.

Dolphins' Alexander Johnson: Headed to Miami
Johnson agreed to terms with the Dolphins on Thursday.
The veteran linebacker will join his third team after spending the last five seasons with the Broncos and Seahawks. Johnson appeared in only one game last year, spending most of his time on Seattle's practice squad. Throughout his career, the 31-year-old tallied 252 tackles, 11 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks in 39 appearances. Expect the Tennessee product to compete for a depth role on Miami's defense ahead of the coming season.

Seattle signed Johnson to its practice squad Wednesday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Johnson lands a practice-squad deal with Seattle two weeks after working out for the team. The undrafted linebacker logged 32 tackles, two sacks and one fumble recovery for Denver last year before suffering a season-ending pectoral injury in Week 6. Now that he's healthy, he'll look to work his way onto Seattle's 53-man roster.

Broncos' Alexander Johnson: Moved to IR
Johnson (pectoral) was moved to injured reserve Tuesday.
The linebacker suffered a season-ending pectoral injury in Week 6 versus the Raiders, so the move to the IR was an expected one. Johnson finishes his 2021 campaign with 32 tackles, two sacks, three pass deflections and a fumble recovery. Justin Strnad and Micah Kiser will operate as the Broncos' top inside linebacker options moving forward.

Broncos' Alexander Johnson: Tears pec, out for season
Johnson suffered a torn pectoral muscle during Sunday's loss to the Raiders and will be sidelined for the rest of the season, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.
The Broncos were bracing for the worst after sending Johnson in for an MRI on Monday, and as feared, his 2021 campaign is over. Denver now has lost both of its top insider linebackers to torn pecs, as Josey Jewell previously went on injured reserve after Week 2. Johnson is expected to undergo surgery to address the injury soon, and the Broncos' depth in the middle will be further challenged in the short term with Baron Browning (concussion) also ruled out for a Week 7 matchup with the Browns. Expect Justin Strnad and Micah Kiser to serve as the team's starting inside linebackers Thursday.

Johnson (chest) has been ruled out of Sunday's game against the Raiders.
Johnson is now the third Broncos linebacker ruled out for the game, as depth options Baron Browning (concussion) and Andre Mintze (hamstring) are also out. Micah Kiser should take over at inside linebacker in the meantime.

Johnson set a season high with eight tackles against the Ravens. The 29-year-old linebacker is coming off a 124-tackle season, but he has gotten off to a slow pace to start the 2021 campaign. Johnson posted five solo tackles, two sacks and a pass breakup in Sunday's 26-0 win over the Jets.
Johnson has underwhelmed in the tackling department this season with just 12 tackles through three games after piling up 124 stops last year. He has never produced more than 1.5 sacks in a season, so Sunday's performance should be considered more of a fluke than anything sustainable. Fantasy managers who invested in Johnson may want to hold for now, especially with the run-heavy Ravens coming to town in Week 4.

The Broncos placed a second-round tender on Johnson on Tuesday, Ryan O'Halloran of The Denver Post reports.
This move was expected, as it offers the Broncos the right of first refusal if Johnson receives an offer sheet on the open market. Johnson will receive $3.3 million in base salary in 2021 unless a better offer comes around, though that seems unlikely given that the other team would forfeit a second-round pick to the Broncos by signing him. Johnson led the team with 124 tackles last season, and he's poised to be a full-time starter again next year.

The Broncos are expected to place a second-round tender on restricted free agent Johnson, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports.
Johnson's base salary for a one-year deal will now be set at $3.3 million, as Denver takes an initial step toward retaining its leading tackler from a season ago. Additionally, should Johnson leave town for an offer the Broncos prove unwilling to match, a second-round pick will be coming back Denver's way. GM George Patton still may aspire to add an effective coverage linebacker to the fold during free agency or the draft. With the second-round tender commitment to Johnson, it becomes more taxing to pry away one of the team's surest run stoppers.

Johnson finished the 2020 season with 124 tackles, four tackles for loss, a sack, two forced fumbles and six passes defensed.
Johnson had big shoes to fill after the Broncos made the surprise decision to move on from Todd Davis. He ended up filling in admirably, leading the team in tackles for the first time in his career while also helping out in the passing game and delivering some big hits. His ability to fill up the stat sheet makes him a strong fit for Vic Fangio's scheme, which relies on athletic inside-linebacker play. He figures to try to repeat his performance in 2021 as -- with little depth behind him -- the team is likely to tender him at a competitive level.

Johnson made eight tackles (seven solo) and forced a fumble in Sunday's 31-3 loss to the Saints.
Johnson popped the ball out of Latavius Murray's hands on the Saints' second offensive drive to record his second forced fumble of the year. The 28-year-old linebacker also reached the eight-tackle threshold for the sixth time in seven games, continuing to provide fantasy managers a solid floor. Johnson has 92 tackles through 11 games, sitting just one stop shy of tying his career high in the category.
