Fehoko suffered the injury Monday and wasn't expected to miss too much time. The third-year pro is working to maintain his depth role in the Cowboys' receiving corps after appearing in five games last season and catching three balls on four targets for 24 yards.

Fehoko could be ahead in the battle for the fourth wide receiver spot on the Cowboys' depth chart after OTAs, Patrik Walker of the team's website reports.
A fifth-round pick out of Stanford in 2021, Fehoko has only three catches through his first two NFL seasons, but he got some run in OTAs on the first team with Dak Prescott under center and showed sharp routes and sticky hands. Given his 6-3, 220-pound frame, Fehoko could be the most logical candidate to handle the role previously filled by Noah Brown as a core special teamer, run blocker and secondary target -- a role Brown turned into 43 catches for 555 yards and three TDs last year. Heading into mandatory minicamp, 2022 third-round pick Jalen Tolbert appears to be Fehoko's primary competition for the WR4 spot.

The Cowboys designated Fehoko (shoulder) to return from injured reserve Thursday, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.
Fehoko was placed on injured reserve with a shoulder injury back on Oct. 15, but Thursday now accounts as the second-year wide receiver's first opportunity to resume practicing and possibly join Dallas' active roster prior to Sunday's divisional-round matchup against the 49ers. If Fehoko is eventually promoted prior to this weekend's contest, he likely won't top 10 offensive snaps.

Fehoko caught two of five targets for eight yards and a touchdown in Friday's preseason game against the Seahawks.
The 2021 fifth-round pick wasn't exactly consistent in this contest, but the same could be said for the entire Dallas passing game, as a patchwork offensive line couldn't give the team's quarterbacks many clean pockets. Fehoko was on the other end of a one-yard TD toss from Will Grier in the second quarter on a designed rollout though, and overall he has looked much more comfortable heading into his second NFL campaign. Fehoko will be competing with Jalen Tolbert, Noah Brown (toe), Dennis Houston and KaVontae Turpin for snaps and targets behind CeeDee Lamb (foot) in Week 1, as that group of unproven wideouts tries to secure spots on the depth chart before Michael Gallup (knee) and James Washington (foot) return to action.

Cowboys' Simi Fehoko: Impressing in practice
Fehoko has been one of the Cowboys' standout players in practice over the last few days, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.
The 2021 fifth-round pick didn't see a target as a rookie and was used only sparingly on special teams, but Fehoko seems a lot more comfortable heading into his second NFL season, and his athleticism has been showing up in camp. There are plenty of snaps and targets up for grabs at wide receiver in Dallas behind CeeDee Lamb and rookie Jalen Tolbert to begin the season, with Fehoko, Noah Brown, Dennis Houston, T.J. Vasher and KaVontae Turpin all jockeying for position on the depth chart. At the moment, Fehoko appears to be the one with the most momentum heading into Saturday's preseason opener against the Broncos.
