Joseph (undisclosed) was waived from injured reserve Saturday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports. Joseph began training camp on the non-football injury list, but he was ultimately cleared to participate a few days later. • Bears' Michael Joseph: Clears NFI list

Joseph (undisclosed) was taken off the active/non-football injury list Tuesday, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports. Joseph appears healthy enough to start practicing again and will likely take the field sometime this week. Excluding former All-Pro Eddie Jackson and this year's second-round pick Jaquan Brisker, the 27-year-old Joseph will fight for a roster spot with fellow safeties DeAndre Houston-Carson, newly acquired Dane Cruikshank and rookie Elijah Hicks. Joseph, who has spent his entire four-year career in Chicago, made his NFL debut last season after the team elevated him from the practice squad in Week 15.

The Bears waived Joseph (thumb) with an injury designation Wednesday, NFL reporter Aaron Wilson reports. Joseph missed time in training camp due to a broken thumb, and it appears that the Bears are content to move on, at least for this season. • Bears' Michael Joseph: Not practicing Monday

Joseph (thumb) did not practice Monday, Larry Mayer of the Bears' official site reports. Joseph was listed on the injury report with a broken thumb, but it is unknown when the injury actually occurred. So far there is no indication of moving the 2018 undrafted free agent to injured reserve, but he will surely be limited if he tries to play through the pain. Joseph re-signed with Chicago in April and has spent his entire career with the Bears organization.
