Buccaneers' Dennis Houston: Inks deal with Tampa Bay
Rotowire
The Bucs signed Houston to a reserve/future contract Tuesday.
Houston spent last summer with the Giants but was cut with an injury settlement in August. He latched on with Tampa Bay's practice squad in October and spent the remainder of the season there. Houston will get a chance to earn a longer look this upcoming offseason. He hasn't appeared in a regular-season contest since 2022 with Dallas.

Dennis Houston: Waived/injured by Giants
Rotowire
The Giants waived/injured Houston (undisclosed) on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Houston had been dealing with a hand injury since the beginning of August, but he was able to suit up for Saturday's preseason contest against the Texans. It's unclear whether he's currently dealing with the same injury or a separate one, but he will now go on waivers. If Houston goes unclaimed, then he would revert to the Giants' injured reserve and be forced to miss all of 2024 unless the two sides reach an agreement on an injury settlement.

Giants' Dennis Houston: Returns to action
Rotowire
Houston (hand) did not catch his lone target during Saturday's preseason loss at the Texans.
Houston had been missing time with a hand issue, but he's now apparently back in playing shape. However, he's probably on the outside looking in at a spot on the Giants' final 53-man roster for 2024.

Giants' Dennis Houston: Dealing with hand injury
Rotowire
Houston did not participate in Tuesday's joint practice with the Lions due to a hand injury, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.
The severity of the injury isn't clear, but it puts Houston's availability for the Giants' first preseason game against the Lions on Thursday in jeopardy. His only playing time in the NFL came with the Cowboys in 2022, when he caught two passes for 16 yards in two regular-season games. Houston spent all of 2023 on the Giants' practice squad and signed a reserve/future contract with Big Blue in January in the hopes that he can catch onto the 53-man roster at the conclusion of training camp.

Giants' Dennis Houston: Active roster bound
Rotowire
The Giants elevated Houston to their active roster Saturday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
The 24-year-old wideout's elevation could be an indication that Wan'Dale Robinson (quadriceps, questionable) is leaning toward not suiting up Sunday. Houston most recently appeared in an NFL game in 2022 with the Cowboys, and he'll likely get the chance to contribute to the Giants' special teams unit in Week 17.

Dennis Houston: Doesn't make final cut
Rotowire
Houston was waived by the Cowboys on Tuesday, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Houston spent the majority of last season on Dallas' practice squad, and there's a good chance the 24-year-old returns there again. The Western Illinois product did suit up twice in 2022 for the team though, recording two catches on six targets for 16 yards.

Dennis Houston: Goes to waivers
Rotowire
Dallas waived Houston on Tuesday, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.
The undrafted rookie out of Western Illinois earned a spot on the Cowboys' 53-man roster with an impressive offseason, but with Michael Gallup (knee) nearing a return, Houston was let go. Unless he's claimed by another team during the current waiver period, he'll become an unrestricted free agent, though he could find a spot on a practice squad.

Cowboys' Dennis Houston: Two grabs Friday
Rotowire
Houston caught two of three targets for 25 yards in Friday's preseason game against the Seahawks.
The undrafted rookie free agent out of Western Illinois caught passes from two different quarterbacks on the night, connecting with Will Grier on an eight-yard reception late in the first quarter before helping set up the eventual game-winning touchdown in the fourth quarter with a 17-yard catch from Ben DiNucci. The fact that Houston was still on the field that late in the contest suggests he's on the roster bubble, but he's been impressing the coaching staff since OTAs and has helped his case with some strong work on special teams. If Houston does make the Week 1 roster, he'll be fighting with Jalen Tolbert, Noah Brown (toe), Simi Fehoko and KaVontae Turpin for snaps and targets behind CeeDee Lamb (foot) in a patchwork receiving corps that will eventually get reinforcements in the form of Michael Gallup (knee) and James Washington (foot).
