The Giants placed Pinnock (toe) on the injured reserve list Saturday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. Pinnock sustained a toe injury in Week 17 against the Rams. He was ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Eagles on Friday and was placed on IR one day later. In his third year in the NFL, Pinnock registered career highs with 85 tackles (59 solo), including 2.0 sacks, six passes defended and two interceptions while adding two forced fumbles and a defensive touchdown over 16 games.... Giants' Jason Pinnock: Ruled out for season finale
Pinnock (toe) won't play in Sunday's season finale against the Eagles, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports. The toe injury that knocked Pinnock out of the Week 17 loss to the Rams will also keep him from playing Week 18. The 24-year-old safety will finish his third NFL season with 85 tackles (59 solo), including 2.0 sacks, along with two forced fumbles and six passes defensed. The latter total includes two interceptions, one of which Pinnock returned 102 yards for a touchdown.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Jason Pinnock: Unavailable Wednesday
Pinnock (toe) was considered to be a nonparticipant at the Giants' walk-through Wednesday. Pinnock suffered a toe injury in New York's narrow loss to the Rams in Week 17, forcing him to exit the contest in the first quarter, so his absence Wednesday isn't a major surprise. The safety will have two more chances to practice this week ahead of the Giants' final contest of the year Sunday versus the Eagles.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Jason Pinnock: X-rays clear on foot
Charlotte Carroll of The Athletic reports that Pinnock was seen wearing a walking boot following Sunday's 26-25 loss to the Rams, and the safety told reporters after the game that X-rays came back clear. Pinnock sustained the foot injury in the first quarter and did not return to the contest. He'll have an MRI on Monday to determine the severity of the issue but told reporters that he was feeling alright. Pinnock finished Sunday's contest with two tackles.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Jason Pinnock: Secures team's lone sack Week 15
Pinnock recorded eight tackles (seven solo), including a sack, in Sunday's loss to the Saints. Pinnock tied for the team lead in stops, with one of his tackles being a sack of Derek Carr in the second quarter. It was the safety's second sack of the season and New York's only sack of the contest. Through 14 games, Pinnock has tallied a career-high 77 stops (54 solo) along with a forced fumble and two interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Jason Pinnock: Picks off Love in Week 14
Pinnock logged four total tackles (all solo), two pass deflections and one interception in Monday night's 24-22 win over the Packers. The 24-year-old intercepted a Jordan Love deep ball down the left sideline late in the second-quarter, giving New York its second takeaway of the first-half. Pinnock's second pick of the year tied him for the Giants' leader on the season, and he's now fourth on the team in pass deflections as well (six total). Expect the Pittsburgh product to continue causing problems for opposing quarterbacks as the year goes on.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Jason Pinnock: Returning to New York with team
Pinnock (abdomen) was taken to a local hospital after exiting Sunday's wild-card win over the Vikings but will fly back to New York with the team, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports. Pinnock was carted off the field in the fourth quarter of Sunday's matchup, but it's encouraging that he'll be able to travel with the team after being examined at a local hospital. However, his status for the NFC divisional round against the Eagles isn't yet known.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Jason Pinnock: Suffers shoulder injury
Pinnock departed Sunday's game in Philadelphia due to a shoulder injury, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. Before he picked up the health concern in the third quarter, Pinnock tallied four tackles. The safety/special teamer will yield reps to some combination of Dane Belton, Landon Collins and Tony Jefferson alongside Xavier McKinney.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Jason Pinnock: Career-high nine tackles in loss
Pinnock totaled nine tackles (eight solo) in Sunday's 48-22 loss to the Eagles. It was a busy tackling day for the Giants' safeties, as Philadelphia consistently got into the second level on the ground, averaging 8.2 yards per carry on 31 attempts. Pinnock set a new single-game career high for tackles while notching at least five for only the second time this season.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Jason Pinnock: Shines with increased opportunity
Pinnock tallied four tackles (three solo) and was credited with 1.5 sacks Sunday in a Week 10 win over the Texans. Pinnock came into Week 10 having played almost entirely on special teams over his five contests, but he was thrust into a larger role after Xavier McKinney was placed on IR with a hand injury. Pinnock made his presence felt early in the contest, splitting a sack with Dexter Lawrence on Houston's first offensive series. He added a full sack with under a minute left in the contest and logged two solo tackles in between. Pinnock's contributions in the win should earn him continued opportunities moving forward, especially while McKinney remains out.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Jason Pinnock: Good to go for Week 8
Pinnock (ankle) is active for Sunday's game against the Seahawks, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports. Pinnock is slated to suit up Sunday against Seattle, after he missed each of the Giants' previous two contests due to an ankle injury. The second-year pro has played primarily on special teams thus far in 2022, and that likely won't change in Week 8.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Jason Pinnock: Out again Week 7
Pinnock (ankle) is officially inactive for Sunday's game at Jacksonville, Paul Schwartz of the New York Post reports. The 23-year-old was considered questionable with the ankle injury and will end up sitting out a second straight game. Pinnock's absence shouldn't affect New York's defense since he's played only a single defensive snap this year.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Jason Pinnock: Won't play in Week 2
Pinnock (shoulder) has been ruled out for Sunday's contest against the Panthers. Pinnock was limited at practice all week and won't be available for Week 2. He played exclusively on special teams, so his absence shouldn't impact the Giants defense, though Dane Belton will be the only healthy safety behind Julian Love and Xavier McKinney.... See More ... Jets' Jason Pinnock: Lands on COVID-19 list
Pinnock (illness) was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Thursday, Aaron Wilson of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports. Pinnock reportedly tested positive for the virus, so he will miss Sunday's Week 10 matchup against Buffalo. The move won't affect the Jets' defense much on the field, as Pinnock has only been active for four games and has played primarily on special teams in his rookie season.... See More ... See Less
