Johnson is signing with the Steelers' practice squad Monday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Johnson was selected in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the Eagles, but he was unable to garner a roster spot after missing much of training camp due to an appendectomy. Johnson (appendix) was waived by the Eagles on Tuesday, Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports. Johnson missed the end of training camp due to an appendectomy, which may have been a factor in him missing out on a roster spot. The 25-year-old was a sixth-round pick by Philadelphia in the 2022 Draft and played in 16 games with the team as a rookie, featuring mostly on special teams. Johnson (shoulder) has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Giants, Zach Berman of The Athletic reports. Johnson suffered an apparent shoulder injury during the first half of Sunday's contest versus New York, and it's since been revealed that he won't re-enter the game.
