  • Chiefs' Mike Danna: Back with Super Bowl champs

Danna has agreed to a three-year deal to remain with the Chiefs, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports. Danna -- whose deal is reportedly worth $24 million and includes $13 million guaranteed, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network -- established career highs last year by recording 6.5 sacks and 50 tackles in 16 regular-season games for Kansas City. With an extension now in place, the 26-year-old is set to continue in his starting defensive end role with the team that took him in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

  • Chiefs' Mike Danna: Inactive Sunday

Danna (rest) will not play in Sunday's matchup with the Chargers, Matt McMullen of the Chiefs' official site reports. The Chiefs are opting to rest Danna in favor of prioritizing his health for the playoffs. In his absence, the likes of Charles Omenihu, Felix Anudike-Uzomah, BJ Thompson and Malik Herring are all candidates to see extra snaps on the defensive line.

  • Chiefs' Mike Danna: Could be rested Sunday

Danna (rest) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Chargers. Despite being a full participant at practice Friday, Danna's availability for Week 18 is in question. If the Chiefs -- who have already earned the third seed in the AFC -- opt to rest Danna on Sunday, it could pave the way for Charles Omenihu to get more snaps.

  • Chiefs' Mike Danna: One sack in loss

Danna recorded four tackles and one sack in Sunday's 27-19 loss to the Packers. Danna recorded his first game with four or more tackles since Week 7 and came up with a big sack in the fourth quarter to force a Packers field-goal attempt. The 26-year-old played in 38 defensive snaps, which was fewer than both George Karlaftis (48) and Charles Omenihu (44). Danna has now compiled a career-high 6.5 sacks and 39 tackles on the season, but recently has been in a three-man rotation with Karlaftis and Omenihu, which should be monitored by IDP managers in the upcoming weeks.

  • Chiefs' Mike Danna: Another solid campaign in 2022

Danna racked up 27 tackles (nine solo), five sacks and two forced fumbles during the 2022 regular season. Danna's 2022 campaign largely aligned with his previous two, but he did finish with career-high totals for both tackles and sacks. He's entering the final season of his rookie contract in 2023 and should maintain a regular role in the lineup for the Chiefs once again.

  • Chiefs' Mike Danna: Full participant Thursday

Danna (calf) practiced fully Thursday. Danna had missed the team's last three games with a calf injury, but his ability to log a full session Thursday indicates he's moved past the issue. If the 257-pounder is indeed cleared for action against the Bills on Sunday, he'd likely serve as a rotational piece on the Chiefs' defensive line.

Danna (calf) was ruled inactive ahead of Monday's game against the Raiders. Danna will miss his third game in a row due to a lingering calf injury despite returning to practice in full last Thursday. With the 24-year-old out, expect Malik Herring and Carlos Dunlap to rotate in behind starting defensive ends George Karlaftis and Frank Clark.

  • Chiefs' Mike Danna: Remains out

Danna (calf) is out Sunday against the Buccaneers. Danna picked up the injury in Week 2 against the Chargers, and he was unable to play Sunday against the Colts. His ability to log limited practices Thursday and Friday at least signals that he may be available in Week 5 against the Raiders.

  • Chiefs' Michael Danna: Lands on IR

The Chiefs placed Danna (hamstring) on injured reserve Saturday, Adam Teicher of ESPN.com reports. The rookie fifth-rounder averaged 31 defensive snaps per game before the injury, so Taco Charlton could see an increased snap count with Danna on the sidelines. Danna will be eligible to return Week 8 against the Jets.
