Johnson was let go by the Saints in August with an undisclosed injury, but his recent workout with Atlanta indicates he's moved past the issue. The 316-pound defensive lineman last suited up for the Texans in 2021, where he collected 23 tackles and one fumble recovery across 12 games played.

    Johnson (undisclosed) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports. Johnson was released by the Saints Thursday only to re-sign with the team Monday. In his fourth year with Minnesota, Johnson had a larger role and earned much more playing time, allowing him to compile a career high in tackles. While the defensive tackle saw a notable increase in his usage in 2020, the defensive tackle's rookie contract is now up, so he may be wearing a different uniform next season.
