Isa Abdul-Quddus: Will be waived by Dolphins
Abdul-Quddus (shoulder) will be waived by the Dolphins due to a failed physical, Joe Schad of the Palm Beach Post reports.
Abdul-Quddus suffered nerve damage in his neck and shoulder prior to being placed on injured reserve in December. At this point it is unclear if he'll ever play again. Neck injuries are not taken lightly and he'll have to make a full recovery in order for teams to look at signing the safety. Miami may need to prioritize the safety position in free agency and the draft now that the team will be without Abdul-Quddus, who was second with 78 tackles in 2016.

Dolphins' Isa Abdul-Quddus: Injury worse than originally thought
According to head coach Adam Gase, Abdul-Quddus' shoulder injury is more serious than originally thought, Joe Schad of the Palm Beach Post reports.
Abdul-Quddus was placed on injured reserve back in December, and since then has stated that he suffered a stretched nerve in his neck. Neck injuries are not taken lightly in the NFL, as Gase went on to state that the seventh-year safety has been in the rehab process and could continue to be for the next couple of months. Abdul-Quddus was second on the Dolphins with 78 tackles over 15 contests in 2016, so if he is forced to miss extended time, Miami may need to look at free agency or the upcoming draft to assess its needs in the back end of the secondary.

Dolphins' Isa Abdul-Quddus: Placed on injured reserve Wednesday
Abdul-Quddus (shoulder) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday, Joe Schad of the Palm Beach Post reports.
Abdul-Quddus suffered the shoulder injury in the Week 16 win over the Bills and was spotted in a sling in the locker room afterward, so the Dolphins quickly determined he wouldn't be available for the regular-season finale or the playoffs. Because Reshad Jones (shoulder) previously landed on IR as well, the Dolphins now will be without both of their starting safeties going forward. Abdul Quddus, who finishes the season with 77 tackles, two interceptions and one sack in 15 games, will be replaced on the 53-man roster by safety A.J. Hendy, who was signed from the practice squad in a corresponding move.
