Giants' Duke Ihenacho: Out for preseason opener
Ihenacho will be sidelined for the Giants' preseason opener due to a hamstring injury, Art Stapleton of USA Today reports.
After logging 10 starts with the Redskins in 2016, Ihenacho signed with the Giants in May. He presumably sustained the injury at a recent practice. There is no current timetable for his return. The 28-year-old is competing for a role providing depth at free safety, so it will be advantageous for him to return sooner than later.

Giants' Duke Ihenacho: Placed on injured reserve
The Giants placed Ihenacho (knee) on injured reserve Friday, Michael Eisen of the team's official site reports.
Ihenacho's spot on the roster wasn't a guarantee, but a knee injury suffered during the team's third preseason was serious enough to end his season. Considering he's on a one-year deal, there's no guarantee the veteran will be with the club come 2018.

Giants' Duke Ihenacho: Participates in preseason contest
Ihenacho (hamstring) was back in the lineup for Monday's preseason contest with Cleveland, Dan Duggan of NJ.com reports.
Going into his sixth year, Ihenacho has always been a depth safety, which isn't changing this year. He's healthy again, however, and should be expected to be a significant special-teams contributor.

Giants' Duke Ihenacho: Will sign with Giants
Ihenacho will sign with the Giants on Thursday, the Record's Art Stapleton reports.
Ihenacho logged 10 starts with the Redskins last season, notching 66 tackles and two passes defensed throughout 15 total games. The veteran safety turns 28 years old in June, and he figures to provide depth at strong safety behind Landon Collins in New York.
