  • Celtics' Yam Madar: Could play in finale

    Madar (groin) may have a chance to return to action Tuesday against the Kings, MassLive.com reports. Madar was held out of Saturday's game due to a groin injury, but he was able to go through Monday's light session, so there's a chance that the rookie guard could return to action for Tuesday's championship game. "We didn't go hard today but he practiced," Celtics Summer League head coach Joe Mazzulla said. "He's doing a great job in his treatment sessions and trying to get ready. He's eager to play. We'll see how he responds to today's practice. It's something we'll talk about in the morning as well."

  • Celtics' Yam Madar: Out Saturday

    Madar is out for Saturday's Summer League contest against the 76ers due to a strained right groin, Jared Weiss of The Athletic reports. Madar has appeared in three Summer League games, and he's averaged 4.7 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 15.7 minutes. His next chance to play arrives Tuesday.

  • Celtics' Yam Madar: Will play for Celtics this season

    Madar will join the Celtics this season after spending 2020-21 overseas playing in Israel. Madar was selected with the 47th overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft and spent last season overseas with Hapoel Tel Aviv, where he averaged 16.5 points, 5.1 assists, 2.9 rebounds and 1.2 steals in 32.4 minutes. Madar will presumably be fighting for depth guard minutes with Kris Dunn, Tremont Waters and Carsen Edwards.
