  • Pacers' Enrique Freeman: Helped to locker room

    Freeman needed assistance walking to the locker room during Thursday's preseason game against the Cavaliers after suffering an apparent right knee injury, Tony East of SI.com reports. Freeman couldn't bend his knee much on his way off the floor and likely headed to the locker room for further evaluation to determine the severity of the injury. Freeman finished the game with nine points (3-6 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), nine rebounds, an assist and a block across 16 minutes off the bench.

  • Pacers' Enrique Freeman: Signs two-way deal

    Freeman and the Pacers agreed on a two-way contract Thursday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. Freeman, who spent five years at Akron, was the 50th overall pick in the 2024 Draft. It's not surprising that he was signed to a two-way contract. He'll spend the majority of the season in the G League getting developmental minutes.

    The Pacers selected Freeman with the No. 50 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, Dustin Dopirak of The Indianapolis Star reports. Freeman spent five years at Akron before declaring for the NBA Draft. In 2023-24, he averaged 18.6 points, 12.9 rebounds, 1.7 blocks and 1.6 assists in 35 games. While Freeman has shown impressive rebounding abilities for a 6-foot-7 forward, there is no obvious path for playing time right out of the gate.
