  • Nuggets' Peyton Watson: Not expected to play

Watson (knee) is "not expected to play" against the Spurs on Wednesday, Bennett Durando of The Denver Post reports. The absence of Watson would leave the Nuggets extremely thin on the frontcourt, as head coach Michael Malone already announced he will sit all five of his usual starters. If Watson ends up being ruled out, Hunter Tyson and Spencer Jones would be in line to see more minutes.

  • Nuggets' Peyton Watson: Trending up for Denver

Watson had nine points (3-8 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-3 FT), five rebounds, three assists, two blocks and one steal over 21 minutes during Sunday's 116-111 win over the Rockets. Watson is trending in the right direction for Denver and is worth a look as a pickup in deeper fantasy leagues. Outside of a poor free-throw percentage lately, Watson has been solid over his last four games. In that span, he produced averages of 11.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.8 blocks and 1.3 three-pointers on 51.4 percent shooting from the field in 27.1 minutes. His minutes will likely remain healthy as long as Nikola Jokic (ankle) is still sidelined.

Christian Braun (foot), Jamal Murray (ankle) and Nikola Jokic (elbow) sat out Monday's game, but they are considered day-to-day. Watson (knee) is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game versus the Kings. After missing Denver's previous 13 outings due to a sprained right knee, Watson's questionable tag indicates that he is nearing a return to action. • Nuggets' Peyton Watson: Suffers head injury

Watson is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Magic due to a head contusion. The status of Watson for the rest of the game is uncertain, though it wouldn't be surprising to see the Nuggets take a cautious approach and shut him down for the night. Watson provided 10 points (3-5 FG, 4-5 FT), seven rebounds, five assists, two blocks and two steals over 35 minutes during Friday's 124-105 victory over Brooklyn. Watson took only five shot attempts, but he made solid contributions in secondary categories in the victory. The Nuggets have a lot invested in Watson, but many forget that he entered the league following limited action in the college ranks and is still considered a developmental project for the team. • Nuggets' Peyton Watson: Scores 18 points off bench

Watson totaled 18 points (6-8 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 4-5 FT), one rebound, two assists, one block and one steal across 26 minutes during Friday's 149-135 loss to the Cavaliers. The Nuggets were without Aaron Gordon (calf) for this matchup Friday, but Watson still came off the bench, although he took advantage of his minutes to deliver an efficient scoring outing. Watson has scored in double digits in just two of his last 10 appearances, however, so it's hard to trust him to deliver sustained fantasy production, especially if he continues to play off the bench going forward.

Watson is probable for Sunday's game against the Clippers with a right adductor strain. Watson has been dealing with an adductor strain for quite some time, but that hasn't prevented the third-year forward from making 10 starts in a row. The probable tag suggests he should remain in the starting unit, especially with Aaron Gordon (calf) listed as doubtful. Watson is averaging 12.3 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game since moving to a starting role.
