  • Tyler Johnson: Deal with Spurs expires

Johnson's 10-day contract with the Spurs expired Sunday, Paul Garcia of ProjectSpurs.com reports. Johnson appeared in three games for San Antonio and averaged 2.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 17.7 minutes during his brief time with the team. He was with the 76ers on a 10-day deal before joining the Spurs, and he's now back to free agency.

  • Spurs' Tyler Johnson: Inks 10-day with Spurs

Johnson and the Spurs agreed Friday to a 10-day contract, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. Johnson had a 10-day with the Sixers in late December. He appeared in three games and averaged 3.7 points and 2.0 rebounds in 12.7 minutes. It would be surprising if he saw significantly more time with the Spurs.

  • Tyler Johnson: Parts ways with Sixers

The 76ers didn't re-sign Johnson (COVID-19 health and safety protocols) after his 10-day contract expired Saturday, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports. Johnson's entry into the protocols Thursday made it an easy decision for the 76ers to forgo re-signing him, given that he wasn't expected to be available for several games. Once he clears the protocols, Johnson's ample experience at the NBA level could allow him to find work with another team whose backcourt depth is tested by injuries or COVID-19-related absences.

  • 76ers' Tyler Johnson: Enters COVID-19 protocols

Johnson entered the league's health and safety protocols Thursday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. Johnson joined the 76ers on a hardship contract early last week, but he'll now be forced to isolate from the team. It's not yet clear whether he's tested positive for the virus or when he'll be able to return.

  • 76ers' Tyler Johnson: Joins Philly via hardship

Johnson signed a 10-day hardship contract with the 76ers on Monday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. Johnson played in 39 games for the Nets last season, averaging 5.4 points per game on 36.4 percent shooting from beyond the arc. The eighth-year pro will likely step right into a rotational role for Philadelphia, as Tyrese Maxey (quadriceps), Furkan Korkmaz (llness) and Shake Milton (COVID-19 protocols) all may be sidelined for Monday's contest against the Celtics.

  • Nets' Tyler Johnson: Starting for Kyrie

Johnson will start Thursday's game against Indiana, Alex Schiffer of The Athletic reports. With Kyrie Irving (groin) out, the Nets will roll out their 34th unique starting lineup of the season. Johnson will fill in at one guard spot, while Landry Shamet, Joe Harris, Kevin Durant and Jeff Green make up the rest of the starting five.

  • Nets' Tyler Johnson: Gets eight points in return

Johnson (knee) posted eight points (3-5 FG, 2-4 3Pt), two assists and a rebound across 16 minutes in Sunday's 128-119 win over the Suns. Johnson was back in action after missing 10 games with a knee injury. The Fresno State product is one of the better three-point shooters on the team, and as he eases back into action, he could help fill some of the void left by James Harden's (hamstring) extended absence. The Nets need a playmaker off the bench who can make shots off the ball, and Johnson seemingly fits that profile better than most of the team's reserve guards.

  • Nets' Tyler Johnson: Will play Sunday

Johnson (knee) will play Sunday against Phoenix, Alex Schiffer of The Athletic reports. Johnson will return as expected from a 10-game absence due to a sprained right knee. Johnson has averaged 16.8 minutes per game so far this season, but may not see quite that many minutes in his first game since April 4.

  • Nets' Tyler Johnson: Probable vs. Suns

Johnson (knee) is probable for Sunday's contest against the Suns, Alex Schiffer of The Athletic reports. After a 10-game absence, Johnson is likely to make his return and see backup guard minutes. However, he could be on a minutes limit in his first game back.

  • Nets' Tyler Johnson: Out Friday

Johnson (knee) is out Friday against the Celtics, Billy Reinhardt of NetsDaily.com reports. As expected, a sprained right knee will keep Johnson out for a 10th straight game. His next chance to play is Sunday against the Suns.

  • Nets' Tyler Johnson: Doubtful Friday

Johnson (knee) is doubtful for Friday's game against Boston, Billy Reinhardt of NetsDaily.com reports. Johnson has been sidelined for more than two weeks due to a sprained right knee, but he's trending in the right direction with the "doubtful" listing. Though it doesn't seem likely that he will play Friday, he could return by sometime next week.

  • Nets' Tyler Johnson: Cleared for running

Brooklyn head coach Steve Nash said Sunday that Johnson (knee) has resumed running, but the guard has yet to gain clearance for scrimmage work, Alex Schiffer of The Athletic reports. Johnson has been sidelined since April 4 with a sprained right knee. The Nets haven't provided a clear timeline for Johnson's return, but he looks unlikely to be available at any point during the team's upcoming four-game week.

  • Nets' Tyler Johnson: Out indefinitely

Johnson (knee) will undergo rehab and strength training on his right knee and is without a timetable to return, Chris Milholen of Nets Daily reports. While it looks as though Johnson has avoided a serious injury, he could be set for a multi-week absence as he battles discomfort in the knee. The journeyman guard has averaged 20.9 minutes per game since the start of March, and though he's not much of a fantasy asset, Johnson typically fills valuable minutes off the bench behind James Harden and Kyrie Irving. In his absence, the Nets will lean more heavily on Bruce Brown and Landry Shamet (ankle).

  • Nets' Tyler Johnson: Will not play Monday

Johnson (knee) will not play Monday against the Knicks, Billy Reinhardt of Nets Daily reports. A right knee issue forced Johnson out of Sunday's loss to the Bulls, and it will cost him at least one game as Brooklyn plays on the second night of a back-to-back. The good news for the Nets is that James Harden (hamstring) will return from a two-game absence.

  • Nets' Tyler Johnson: Leaves Sunday's game

Johnson was helped to the locker room in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game against Chicago with a strained right knee, freelance sports writer Mike Mazzeo reports. Johnson posted two points (1-2 FG), one rebound and one assist in 14 minutes off the bench before he had to exit the game. The injury looked to be of the noncontact variety, so Johnson's status for Monday's game against New York is certainly in question.

  • Nets' Tyler Johnson: Scores 15 points off bench

Johnson scored 15 points (5-7 FG, 5-7 3PT), secured three rebounds and dished one assist in 22 minutes during Thursday's 111-89 win over the Hornets. The 28-year-old guard has been a consistent shooter (36.1 percent from deep) off the bench during his tenure in the NBA, and the Nets have a plethora of playmakers that create open shots for shooters. Johnson's scoring outburst did come in the absence of James Harden (hamstring), although the extra shooting space could just as easily be contributed to the low-post presence of LaMarcus Aldridge who was making his Nets debut. Thursday's scoring total marked the first time Johnson scored double-digit points in the last seven games, and it was the fourth time all year. If Johnson can stay healthy, expect more efficient three-point shooting from the ex-Fresno State Bulldog.

  • Nets' Tyler Johnson: Back to bench

Johnson will come off the bench Friday against the Pistons, Billy Reinhardt of NetsDaily.com reports. With James Harden (neck) making his return and starting, Johnson will resume his usual role off the bench. Across his past 12 games as a reserve, he's averaged 6.0 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 19.0 minutes.

  • Nets' Tyler Johnson: Quiet in starting role Wednesday

Johnson scored seven points (2-7 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 3-4 FT) with two rebounds in 24 minutes during Wednesday's blowout loss to Utah. Stepping into the starting lineup for the second time this season (thanks to a slew of injuries for Brooklyn) did nothing for Johnson's fantasy appeal, as he continued slumping from long range. Over the last four games, he's gone just 2-for-13 from downtown; not coincidentally, he hasn't cracked the 10-point mark in any of those contests.

  • Nets' Tyler Johnson: Starting Wednesday

Johnson will start in Wednesday's game against the Jazz, Malika Andrews of ESPN.com reports. With Kyrie Irving (personal) and James Harden (neck) ruled out, Johnson will make his second start of the season Wednesday night. He's averaging 5.2 points and 1.8 rebounds while shooting 40.0 percent from three-point range in 15.5 minutes per game this season. Johnson and Bruce Brown are likely to handle the majority of the point guard duties for the Nets as long as Irving and Harden are sidelined.

  • Nets' Tyler Johnson: Scores 15 points in strong showing

Johnson amassed 15 points (4-9 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 5-6 FT), four rebounds and two steals in 31 minutes during Wednesday's 124-115 victory over Indiana. Johnson stepped into a larger role after Kyrie Irving (groin) was ruled out earlier in the day, scoring in double digits for just the third time this season. His role typically sees him play fewer than 20 minutes per game, making nights such as this pure outliers.
