  • Malcolm Hill: Pelicans waive him

The Pelicans waived Hill on Saturday, Keith Smith of Spotrac reports. Hill is among several players that New Orleans waived before Saturday's deadline, and if he goes through waivers unclaimed, then he'd have to report to the franchise's G League affiliate, the Birmingham Squadron. The Pelicans signed Hill to a training camp deal on Oct. 1, but ultimately, he didn't show enough in the preseason to earn a roster ahead of Opening Night next week.

Hill checked in third in scoring on the night for the Bulls while posting his third double-digit point tally in four games this season. The 27-year-old forward's 54.5 percent shooting was a season high as well, but his pair of boards did represent his lowest figure in that category thus far on the campaign.

  • Bulls' Malcolm Hill: Back with Windy City

Hill amassed 19 points (5-13 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 3-3 FT), six rebounds and four assists in 35 minutes during Saturday's 105-96 loss to the Charge. He spent the last three weeks with Chicago but failed to make an appearance during that 13-game span. He's tallied 68 seconds of playing time in three appearances for Chicago on the year, and the return to Windy City should provide some extended playing time for the 27-year-old.

Hill signed a two-way contract with the Bulls on Wednesday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. Hill played 16 games last season for the Bulls last season, averaging 3.4 points and 1.8 rebounds in 10.4 minutes. The 26-year-old spent almost all of January and February in the NBA after latching on with the Bulls on Jan. 13. He is averaging 17.7 points, 7.1 boards, 3.1 assists and 2.4 three-pointers over seven G League games with Windy City.

  • Bulls' Malcolm Hill: Registers G League double-double

Hill tallied 16 points (7-16 FG, 2-8 3Pt), 13 rebounds, four assists and two steals over 30 minutes Wednesday in a 117-108 win over Greensboro. This was Hill's second game of the G League regular season, as he has spent much of his time in 2022 at the NBA level. The 26-year-old was one of two Windy City players to post a double-double in Wednesday's win, and he tied for the team lead with 13 boards. Hill has averaged only 11.6 minutes per contest in his 17 NBA games during the campaign, so his time in the G League is giving him a more extended opportunity to showcase his skills.

  • Bulls' Malcolm Hill: Clip and dip

Hill posted eight points (3-3 FG, 2-2 3Pt) and two rebounds over two minutes during Monday's 127-124 loss to Phoenix. Hill has spent most of this season as a three-and-D wing in the G League, averaging 16.8 points on 40.0 percent shooting from beyond the arc. He is nonetheless unlikely to build a larger role in Chicago.
