  • Brewers' Hedbert Perez: Hits first homer this season

Perez went 1-for-5 with a home run in Sunday's game with Single-A Carolina. Perez had a tough time at the Single-A level last season, and he has not done much early this year, tallying just three hits over 29 at-bats. However, all three of those have went for extra bases, and some struggles can be expected for a player who is nearly two years younger than league average. Perez is one of the better prospects in the Brewers' system, so don't be surprised if he takes off at some point.

  • Brewers' Hedbert Perez: Promoted to Low-A

The Brewers promoted Perez to Low-A Carolina on Monday. Perez's power seems to be ahead of schedule, as he hit six home runs with a .242 ISO and .575 SLG in 32 games in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League. His hit tool will be tested against full-season pitching, however, as he was pretty aggressive in the ACL, logging a 25.8 percent strikeout rate and 6.1 percent walk rate. Perez will be one of the youngest players at Low-A, so expectations should be tempered over the final weeks of the season.

  • Brewers' Hedbert Perez: Best game of young career

Perez went 5-for-6 with two home runs, two doubles, three runs and seven RBI in Thursday's game against the Arizona Complex League Diamondbacks. He now boasts a .368/.411/.632 slash line with four home runs and two steals on two attempts through 17 games for the Arizona Complex League Brewers. Perez doesn't turn 19 until next April and has thus far lived up to the massive hype surrounding him entering the season.

  • Brewers' Hedbert Perez: Makes stateside debut

Perez debuted for the Brewers Gold of the rookie-level Arizona Complex League on Friday, and he's 1-for-7 with a double, a walk and two strikeouts through two games thus far. This marks the much-anticipated pro debut for the highly regarded 18-year-old, and he'll be one to watch over the summer. Although he's considered to be very advanced for his age, Perez is still likely several years away from the majors, but Brewers fans and dynasty managers have plenty to dream on with him.
