Nationals' Stephen Nogosek: Gets minors deal from Washington
Nogosek signed a minor-league contract with the Nationals on Tuesday.
The pitcher made the announcement himself on his X account. Nogosek, 29, has posted a 5.02 ERA and 57:23 K:BB across 57.1 innings covering parts of four major-league seasons. The right-handed reliever is likely headed to Triple-A Rochester to begin his 2024 campaign.

Diamondbacks' Stephen Nogosek: Gets minor-league deal from Arizona
Nogosek signed a minor-league contract with the Diamondbacks on Friday, Andrew Parker of Beyond the Monster reports.
Nogosek elected free agency after declining an outright assignment by the Mets earlier this week and has quickly found a new home. Per Parker, Nogosek will report to Triple-A Reno on Monday and his deal contains multiple opt-outs.

Nogosek was dropped from the Mets' 40-man roster Friday after he posted an inflated 6.52 ERA and 1.60 WHIP with 17 strikeouts over 19.1 innings with New York. He'll now either report to Triple-A Syracuse, get claimed by another team or be released outright, the first of which seems most likely. Mets' Stephen Nogosek: Rough outing at altitude
Nogosek (0-1) took the loss Sunday as the Mets were downed by the Rockies, coughing up five runs on four hits -- including two home runs -- and a walk over one inning of relief.
Coors Field was working its magic Sunday as the two teams combined for 21 runs, and Nogosek took the worst of it, serving up long balls to Charlie Blackmon and Ryan McMahon in the fifth inning plus doubles to bottom-of-the-order hitters Ezequiel Tovar and Austin Wynns for good measure. Nogosek added nearly two full runs to his ERA with the poor performance, as it jumped from 4.43 to 6.33, but he's been struggling all season and has been tagged for runs in eight of his 11 appearances.

Mets' Stephen Nogosek: Brought back from IL
The Mets reinstated Nogosek (elbow) from the 15-day injured list Monday.
New York optioned right-hander Jose Butto to Triple-A Syracuse on Sunday to open up a spot on the 26-man active roster for Nogosek, who is back with the big club after a minimum-length stay on the shelf due to a left elbow bruise. Nogosek will be available for Monday's doubleheader with Atlanta after he checked out fine following rehab appearances with Syracuse and Double-A Binghamton between which he covered three total innings.

Imaging taken after the game was negative. Nogosek was replaced by Dennis Santana after giving up one run on four hits and striking out two in an inning of relief, and the long reliever sports a 2.84 ERA and 8:3 K:BB through his first 6.1 innings this season. Nogosek gave up one run on three hits and a walk over 3.1 relief innings while striking out five in Sunday's loss to the Marlins.
The 28-year-old righty replaced Carlos Carrasco in the fifth inning with the Mets already down 6-1, and Nogosek delivered a solid performance over 52 pitches (34 strikes), His long-relief role doesn't afford much fantasy upside, but he does have a 1.69 ERA and 6:3 K:BB through his first two appearances and 5.1 innings.

Nogosek is a favorite for one of the open jobs in the Mets' bullpen, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.
The 28-year-old right-hander is out of minor-league options and was effective in a long-relief role last season, working 22 innings over 12 appearances with a 2.45 ERA. It's not an assignment that would carry a lot of fantasy value, but using Nogosek as a long man would allow the Mets to keep pitchers like David Peterson and Tylor Megill stretched out as starters at Triple-A rather than working shorter stints in the majors.

Nogosek (1-1) picked up the win in the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Nationals, allowing three hits over 2.2 scoreless innings of relief. He struck out six without walking a batter.
