Rays' Chandler Simpson: Nabs steal No. 25
Simpson went 2-for-5 with a stolen base in Wednesday's 7-3 win over the Tigers.
He was also caught stealing, giving Simpson a 25-for-31 showing on the basepaths through his first 50 big-league contests. The 24-year-old speedster has also hit safely in eight straight games to begin July, pushing his slash line to .310/.341/.351. While his lack of power does limit his overall upside, Simpson's steals are likely to have an outsized impact on fantasy pennant races in the second half.

Rays' Chandler Simpson: Swipes 23rd bag
Simpson went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored Wednesday against the A's.
Simpson has started eight of nine games since being recalled June 24. He's hit .345 across 29 at-bats, while striking out only 3.2 percent of the time. Simpson has also unsurprisingly been aggressive on the basepaths, logging four stolen bases on five attempts to bring his total on the season to 23 in only 44 games.

Rays' Chandler Simpson: Idle against lefty
Simpson is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Athletics, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
The left-handed-hitting Simpson was included in the lineup in the Rays' most recent matchup with a southpaw starter (the Royals' Kris Bubic) last Tuesday, but the rookie outfielder will hit the bench for Monday's seres opener while the Athletics send lefty Jacob Lopez to the hill. Christopher Morel, Jake Mangum and Jose Caballero will serve as the Rays' starters in the outfield from left to right.

Rays' Chandler Simpson: Flashing wheels in return to majors
Simpson went 2-for-4 with a walk, a run scored, an RBI and a stolen base in Saturday's 11-3 win over the Orioles.
He was also caught stealing, but Simpson has picked up where he left off on the basepaths since returning to the Rays roster Tuesday. The 24-year-old is batting .316 (6-for-19) with a triple and two stolen bases in five games since his promotion, and on the season he's gone 21-for-25 on steal attempts in his first 40 MLB contests.

Rays' Chandler Simpson: Call-up on tap
The Rays are expected to recall Simpson from Triple-A Durham prior to Tuesday's game in Kansas City, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Kameron Misner has already been optioned to Durham, and his roster spot will be filled by Simpson. The speedy Simpson slashed .285/.315/.317 with 19 steals in 35 games earlier this season with the Rays and should see regular playing time in the outfield, at least against right-handers. Simpson should be scooped back up in fantasy leagues where he was dropped, particularly for managers in need of aid in the stolen base category.

Rays' Chandler Simpson: Return to majors official
The Rays recalled Simpson from Triple-A Durham on Tuesday.
The 24-year-old speedster was optioned to Durham in late May after posting a .285/.315/.317 slash line with no homers, 19 steals, 11 RBI and 17 runs in his first 35 big-league games, and he'll receive another look with the Rays following the demotion of Kameron Misner. Simpson delivered offensively in his first taste of the majors, but he provided poor defense with minus-5 DRS and minus-3 OAA in just 284 defensive innings. He'll provide fantasy managers with a strong average and stolen-base production, though the defense could result in some playing time limitations if he doesn't improve in the field.

Rays' Chandler Simpson: Sent to Triple-A
The Rays optioned Simpson to Triple-A Durham on Friday, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports.
The 24-year-old speedster enjoyed a strong start to his big-league career with a .285 batting average, 19 steals, 11 RBI and 17 runs in his first 35 games, but he's being demoted Friday with Jake Mangum (groin) making his return from the injured list. It's likely only a matter of time before Simpson rejoins the Rays this season, but for now he'll return to Durham, where he may focus on improving his defense after posting minus-5 DRS and minus-3 OAA in 284 outfield innings.

Simpson's now stolen nine bases in his last 11 games, improving to 16-for-19 in steal attempts this season. The rookie outfielder has also been swinging the bat well, going 17-for-50 (.340) in his last 15 contests. Overall, Simpson is slashing .286/.312/.319 with 11 RBI and 16 runs scored through his first 126 plate appearances this year.

Rays' Chandler Simpson: Racking up stolen bases
Simpson went 2-for-5 with an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base Sunday against the Blue Jays.
Simpson was out of the lineup for three straight games due to injuries to his hand and face to begin the week, but that hasn't deterred him from being aggressive on the basepaths. After Sunday's performance, he has at least one stolen base in six of his last eight games. Simpson has seven total steals in that span, bringing his total to 14 across 31 games.
