  • Tigers' Blair Calvo: Healthy again at Single-A

Calvo (shoulder) has made two relief appearances through Single-A Lakeland's first three games, allowing one earned run on two hits and two walks while striking out four batters over three innings.

Calvo had a brief cup of coffee in the big leagues with the Rockies in 2023, but he has yet to resurface in the majors since being acquired by the Tigers in July of that year. He opened the 2024 season at Double-A Erie but made just three appearances before undergoing surgery in May to address a torn labrum in his right shoulder. Calvo has seemingly made a full recovery from the procedure, but he'll need to prove himself in the lower levels of the minors before returning to Erie.

  • Tigers' Blair Calvo: Out for season

Calvo (shoulder) was placed on the full-season injured list by Double-A Erie on Friday after undergoing surgery to repair his right shoulder labrum, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Calvo made three relief appearances for Erie before suffering a shoulder injury in late April. The 28-year-old righty will miss the rest of 2024 but could compete for a spot in the bullpen next season if he's fully recovered.

  • Tigers' Blair Calvo: Moved off 40-man roster

The Tigers outrighted Calvo to Triple-A Toledo on Sunday.

After being acquired from the Rockies on June 18, Calvo never made any appearances at the big-league level for Detroit before being moved off the 40-man roster. Calvo will continue to pitch in relief at Toledo, with whom he's compiled an 8.88 ERA, 2.23 WHIP and 30:26 K:BB over 25.1 innings.

  • Tigers' Blair Calvo: Acquired by Detroit

Calvo was traded from the Rockies to the Tigers on Sunday in exchange for cash considerations.

Calvo was designated for assignment by Colorado on Thursday but will join Detroit's 40-man roster a few days later. The right-hander was optioned to Triple-A Toledo to begin his time with his new club, but it's possible he provides bullpen depth for the Tigers at some point.

  • Rockies' Blair Calvo: Dropped from 40-man roster

Calvo was designated for assignment by the Rockies on Thursday.

This move clears out 40-man roster space for Jorge Alfaro, who is joining the Rockies on Thursday. Calvo made his MLB debut last month and retired all three batters he faced, but the 27-year-old has posted a rough 7.43 ERA in 23 innings this season at the Triple-A level.

  • Rockies' Blair Calvo: Optioned to Triple-A

Colorado optioned Calvo to Triple-A Albuquerque on Wednesday.

Calvo retired all three batters he faced while making his major-league debut Tuesday out of the Rockies' bullpen, but he'll get the boot for Dinelson Lamet (back) ahead of Wednesday night's game against the Diamondbacks.

  • Rockies' Blair Calvo: Recalled to bullpen

Colorado recalled Calvo from Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday.

Calvo holds a rough 8.50 ERA in 18 innings of work this season at the Triple-A level, but the Rockies are desperate for fresh arms. The 27-year-old will presumably operate in a low-leverage relief role as he gets his first taste of MLB action.
