Rockies' Chad Stevens: Latches on with Rockies
The Rockies signed Stevens to a minor-league contract Dec. 9.
Stevens reached the big leagues for the first time in 2025, going 2-for-13 at the plate during a five-game cup of coffee with the Angels. Slated to turn 27 in February, Stevens had a strong .290/.375/.480 batting line at Triple-A Salt Lake in 2025 and is capable of playing all four infield positions as well as the outfield corners.

The Angels outrighted Stevens to Triple-A Salt Lake on Tuesday.
He's no longer on the 40-man roster but will remain in the organization. Stevens had a cup of coffee with the Angels earlier this season but has spent most of the season with Salt Lake, where he's slashed .288/.369/.489 with 18 homers and 20 steals.

Angels' Chad Stevens: DFA'd by Halos
The Angels designated Stevens for assignment Sunday.
The infielder received his first taste of the majors earlier this season and went 2-for-13 with seven strikeouts in five games before being sent back to Triple-A Salt Lake on July 8. Stevens has an .858 OPS with 18 home runs and 20 steals in 116 games with Salt Lake this season, but the Angels didn't deem the 26-year-old worthy of retaining a spot on the 40-man roster.

Stevens started in all five games that he was in the majors for following his selection Thursday, the day that also marked his big-league debut. Angels' Chad Stevens: Drawing fourth straight start
Stevens will start at third base and bat ninth in Sunday's game against the Blue Jays, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
Since calling Stevens up from Triple-A Salt Lake on Thursday, the Angels have been giving the 26-year-old regular playing time in the infield while Christian Moore (thumb), Yoan Moncada (knee) and Chris Taylor (hand) are all on the shelf. Stevens will pick up his fourth straight start Sunday after going 1-for-8 with four strikeouts through his first three big-league games. He'll likely see his opportunities dwindle once the Angels' infield gets healthy.

Angels' Chad Stevens: Selected to MLB roster
The Angels selected Stevens' contract from Triple-A Salt Lake on Thursday.
Stevens has been with Triple-A Salt Lake all season, slashing .307/.383/.542 with 14 homers, 43 RBI and 48 RBI through 298 plate appearances, and he'll now get his first look in the majors following Christian Moore's (thumb) move to the injured list. The 26-year-old Stevens will make his MLB debut Thursday as the Angels' starting second baseman, though Kevin Newman figures to be the favorite to start at the keystone most days for the Halos going forward.
