Reds' Shea Spitzbarth: Inks MiLB deal with Cincy
Spitzbarth signed a minor-league contract with the Reds on Tuesday.
The 28-year-old righty will likely report to Triple-A, where he held a 3.27 ERA and 1.32 WHIP through 44 innings last season as part of the Tigers' farm system. Spitzbarth has major-league experience with Pittsburgh in 2021, but he will have some work to do in the minors before the Reds think about giving him another shot in the bigs.

Tigers' Shea Spitzbarth: Signs with Tigers
Spitzbarth signed a minor-league contract with the Tigers on Thursday, Emily Waldon of The Athletic reports.
Spitzbarth let go by the Pirates in early November, but he'll have a chance to carve out a role in the Tigers' minor-league system to begin the 2022 season. The 27-year-old made 42 appearances at the Triple-A level last year and posted a 2.12 ERA and 1.21 WHIP in 46.2 innings.

Spitzbarth was outrighted to Triple-A Indianapolis on Saturday.
Spitzbarth made his big-league debut at age 26 this season, allowing two runs in five innings of relief. He spent the bulk of the year in Indianapolis, where his 2.12 ERA wasn't backed up by his 21.5 percent strikeout rate and 11.0 percent walk rate.

Spitzbarth was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis on Friday.
Spitzbarth spent nearly a month with the minor-league club, and he posted a 5.68 ERA and 1.74 WHIP in 6.1 innings across six appearances since his demotion. He's recorded a 4.50 ERA across four major-league appearances this year, and he'll rejoin the Pirates' bullpen ahead of the final series of the 2021 campaign.

Spitzbarth's latest stint on the big-league roster lasted just two days. He gave up a run while recording just two outs Sunday against the Cubs in his lone appearance. He'll make way for Dillon Peters (back), who returns from the injured list to start against the Tigers.

Pirates' Shea Spitzbarth: Back with Pirates
Spitzbarth was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis on Sunday, Rob Biertempfel of The Athletic reports.
The 26-year-old has been at Triple-A since mid-August and will rejoin the big-league club Sunday with JT Brubaker (shoulder) and Duane Underwood (shoulder) headed to the injured list. Spitzbarth has covered only 3.1 frames in the majors this season but has a 1.56 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 34:17 K:BB over 40.1 innings at Indianapolis.

The Pirates optioned Spitzbarth to Triple-A Indianapolis on Sunday, Alex Stumpf of DKPittsburghSports.com reports.
Spitzbarth was designated as Pittsburgh's 27th man ahead of Saturday's doubleheader with the Brewers and was never expected to be long for the active roster. The right-hander reliever pitched in the second game of the twin bill, giving up a solo home run to Avisail Garcia in his lone inning of work in the Pirates' 6-0 loss.

The righty has appeared in two games for the Pirates this season, throwing 2.1 scoreless innings with three hits, a walk and no strikeouts. Spitzbarth may be called upon in relief Saturday night after three Pirates relievers were used in the afternoon win.
