  • Rangers' Dustin Harris: Hits in three straight starts

Harris started in left field and went 2-for-3 with a double and was caught stealing in Friday's 3-0 loss to the Dodgers. Harris made a third consecutive start in left field, as Josh Smith (thumb), who was the primary fill-in for the injured Wyatt Langford (oblique) against right-handers, remained unavailable. Harris has hit safely in all three starts, going 5-for-11 with two doubles and two runs scored. Depending on Smith's status, Harris could find himself in the lineup for a fourth straight game Saturday with the Dodgers scheduled to throw righty Roki Sasaki.

  • Rangers' Dustin Harris: Starts in left field

Harris started in left field and went 1-for-4 with a run scored in Wednesday's 3-1 win over the Angels. Harris got the start in place of Josh Smith (thumb), who has been part of a platoon in left field while Wyatt Langford (oblique) is on the 10-day injured list. It's been Smith against right-handers and Kevin Pillar against lefties. Harris is 2-for-8 with a double and a home run in four games since being called up.

  • Rangers' Dustin Harris: Homers in loss

Harris started in left field and went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Sunday's 3-1 loss to Seattle. The Rangers rested Marcus Semien, which led to Josh Smith covering second base and gave Harris is first start since being called up. The lefty hitting outfielder could see more opportunities in left field with Wyatt Langford (oblique) on the injured list, but Smith is the primary fill-in.

  • Rangers' Dustin Harris: Receives call to majors

The Rangers recalled Harris from Triple-A Round Rock on Wednesday. Harris will give Texas some extra coverage in the outfield while Wyatt Langford (oblique) is on the injured list, though the 25-year-old won't necessarily be a direct replacement for Langford in the everyday lineup. Kevin Pillar will draw the start in left field in Wednesday's game against the Cubs, and he, Harris, Josh Smith and Ezequiel Duran could all be in the mix for playing time while Langford is out. Harris received a brief cup of coffee with the Rangers last September but otherwise spent the entire 2024 campaign at Round Rock, with whom he slashed .272/.355/.391 with 10 home runs and 35 stolen bases across 562 plate appearances.

  • Rangers' Dustin Harris: Shines against Angels

Harris went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double and three RBI in Sunday's win over the Angels. Harris' first career hit was a two-run double in the seventh inning. He then belted his first MLB homer in the ninth. It was Harris' second appearance for the Rangers, and before his late-September promotion, he'd posted a .749 OPS through 131 games for Triple-A Round Rock.

  • Rangers' Dustin Harris: Recalled from Triple-A

The Rangers recalled Harris from Triple-A Round Rock on Tuesday. Harris will reach the majors for the first time in his career after spending the entire season with Round Rock, slashing .272/.355/.391 with 53 RBI across 486 plate appearances. Most of his starts this season have come as an outfielder, but he may be asked to handle third base occasionally until Ezequiel Duran returns from paternity leave.

  • Rangers' Dustin Harris: Healthy again in spring training

Harris (oblique) came off the bench and played two innings at first base Saturday in the Rangers' 7-1 loss to the Dodgers in Cactus League play. Harris hadn't appeared in a Cactus League game since Feb. 28 due to a sore oblique, but he looks like he'll head into the regular season with a clean bill of health after he was available to play Saturday. He'll open the 2024 campaign at Triple-A Round Rock after the Rangers optioned him Tuesday.

  • Rangers' Dustin Harris: Optioned to minor-league camp

The Rangers optioned Harris (oblique) to Triple-A Round Rock on Tuesday. Harris received an invite to big-league camp as one of the organization's top prospects and went 3-for-10 with a double and two RBI through five games, but he's been sidelined by an oblique issue for the past week. The 24-year-old didn't have a realistic chance of making the Opening Day roster regardless of the injury, and he'll now shift over to minor-league camp.

  • Rangers' Dustin Harris: Likely done for season

Harris (wrist) won't require surgery but isn't expected to return to action for Double-A Frisco this year, Jeff Wilson of RangersToday.com reports. The 23-year-old landed on the shelf with a sprained left wrist Aug. 10, and he isn't expected back with the RoughRiders in 2022. One of the Rangers' top prospects, Harris should finish the year with a .259/.346/.485 slash line with 18 home runs, 68 RBI and 19 stolen bases in 86 games at Double-A. He could still be available to play in the Fall League.

  • Rangers' Dustin Harris: Cool start in Double-A

Harris has a six-game hitting streak going at Double-A Frisco, but he's still sitting on a modest .258/.294/.290 line to open the campaign. The power he showed in the minors last year has yet to make an appearance in Double-A, and Harris is also sitting on career-worst walk and strikeout rates (6.1 and 29.4 percent, respectively) early on. That said, his spectacular 2021 results -- .327/.401/.542 with 20 homers and 25 steals in 110 games across Low-A and High-A -- certainly earned him some patience. There's no need to downgrade his stock based on these early returns.
