  • Mariners' Konner Wade: Back with Triple-A Tacoma

Wade re-signed with the Mariners on a minor-league deal Tuesday and debuted for Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday, tossing four innings and striking out five while allowing three runs (two earned) on three hits and three walks in a 7-4 win over El Paso.

Wade is back with the Seattle organization for a second straight season after he was unable to find work elsewhere upon electing free agency in November. The 31-year-old previously made seven relief appearances in the majors for Baltimore in 2021, but he'll face an uphill battle to resurface in the big leagues with Seattle.

  • Orioles' Konner Wade: Clears waivers Monday

Wade cleared waivers Tuesday and was assigned to Triple-A Norfolk, Nathan Ruiz of The Baltimore Sun reports.

The righty went unclaimed on waivers, likely due to his disastrous big-league debut June 26, when the Blue Jays shelled him for six runs on seven hits in 1.2 innings. Wade has pitched much better at Triple-A, though, with a 3.24 ERA in 33.1 innings, so he may earn another chance on the big-league roster this season if such success continues.

Wade allowed six runs on seven hits and a walk with one strikeout in 1.2 innings in a 12-4 loss to Toronto on Saturday.

The right-hander had a nightmarish major-league debut after relieving Keegan Akin with one out in the fifth inning. Wade allowed a three-run home run to Randal Grichuk, allowing one of Akin's inherited runners to score. Wade was then on the hook for all of Toronto's four-run rally in the sixth. The 29-year-old has seen time as a starter and a reliever in the minors, although it's been more of the latter with Triple-A Norfolk this year. He figures to be a low-leverage option out of the bullpen.
