Diamondbacks' Kendall Graveman: Reinstated from IL
The Diamondbacks activated Graveman (hip) from the 15-day injured list Friday.
Graveman's one-month stint on the injured list comes to an end Friday, as he'll rejoin Arizona's bullpen in place of Jalen Beeks (back), who's headed to the IL himself. Graveman has allowed eight runs in 8.1 innings across nine appearances with the Diamondbacks this season.

Diamondbacks' Kendall Graveman: Activation pending
Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Friday that Graveman (hip) will be activated from the injured list, Jack Sommers of SI.com reports.
Graveman has been on the shelf since June 9 due to a right hip impingement and began a rehab assignment earlier this week. He threw a scoreless inning with the Diamondbacks' rookie-level Arizona Complex League squad Tuesday. Jalen Beeks (back) is headed to the injured list in a corresponding move.

Diamondbacks' Kendall Graveman: Beginning rehab assignment Tuesday
Graveman (hip) will make a rehab appearance in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League on Tuesday, MLB.com reports.
Graveman is working his way back from his second injury of the season, after a right lumbar strain suffered in spring training kept him from making his 2025 debut with Arizona until mid-May. He was most recently placed on the injured list June 9 due to a right hip impingement, but after facing live hitters Friday without issue, Graveman will move on to the final phase of his recovery program. He'll likely remain on assignment in the minors throughout the week before potentially returning from the IL coming out of the All-Star break.

Diamondbacks' Kendall Graveman: Throws live BP
Graveman (hip) threw a live batting practice session Friday, MLB.com reports.
Graveman's session was overshadowed by the hitter he threw to -- rehabbing outfielder Corbin Carroll (wrist) -- but the reliever's activity carries significance. Arizona's bullpen ranks 28th in the majors with a 5.18 ERA, and the team's relief corps has had recent meltdowns in the latter innings of losses. Graveman battled a back injury and missed the first six weeks of the season before a right hip impingement shut him down early in June.

Diamondbacks' Kendall Graveman: Throws bullpen
Graveman (hip) threw a bullpen session Friday, Alex Weiner of Arizona Sports reports.
This was Graveman's most significant activity since he was placed on the 10-day injured list with a hip impingement earlier this month. Arizona manager Torey Lovullo said the right-hander felt good following the session, and the team will monitor his recovery from it.

Diamondbacks' Kendall Graveman: Back on IL with hip injury
The Diamondbacks placed Graveman on the 15-day injured list Monday, retroactive to June 8, due to a right hip impingement.
Graveman's hip injury may have played a part in his disastrous outing in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Reds, when he allowed six runs on five hits and one walks in one inning. It's the second time he'll be on the IL, with a back injury preventing him from making his season debut until May 13. Christian Montes De Oca was recalled from Triple-A in a corresponding move.

Diamondbacks' Kendall Graveman: Makes return from IL
The Diamondbacks reinstated Graveman (back) from the 15-day injured list Monday.
Arizona designated lefty Jose Castillo for assignment to open up a spot in the bullpen for Graveman, who missed the first month and a half of the season while recovering from a right lumbar strain. Graveman had previously missed the entire 2024 campaign while on the mend from right shoulder surgery, but he checked out healthy after tossing 3.1 scoreless innings across his three minor-league rehab appearances. Prior to his shoulder surgery, Graveman found success as a setup man and occasional stopgap option at closer, but he may have to settle for a middle-relief role initially with Arizona coming off a lengthy absence from big-league action. The back end of the Diamondbacks bullpen is highly unsettled, however, so Graveman could move up in the pecking order quickly if he excels in his first few relief appearances.

Diamondbacks' Kendall Graveman: Could be activated this week
Graveman (back) rejoined the Diamondbacks on Sunday and could be activated from the 15-day injured list during the upcoming week, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.
Graveman completed a three-appearance minor-league rehab assignment Friday, and all signs point to him being activated at some point during the series against the Giants that kicks off Monday. Though the back end of the Arizona bullpen is unsettled, Graveman is unlikely to immediately factor into the closer mix and will likely work in a setup role or in middle relief.

He's been on the 15-day injured since the start of the season after experiencing back discomfort during a bullpen session in early March.
