Gaudreau scored for the first time in 2024 during Sunday's 4-3 win over the Sharks. Sunday's goal was Gaudreau's first tally since Dec. 31, and he had only two assists during that 23-game goal drought. It's been a brutal run for Gaudreau, who scored 19 goals and 38 points in 82 games last season. Neither campaign is likely indicative of his goal-scoring ability. Last season, he was more than four percent over his career shoot percentage average, and this season, he's more than four percent under that mark. Whether or not he ultimately regresses to the mean, it's hard to start a player shooting 5.5 percent with only four goals through 49 contests.... See More ... See Less

Wild's Frederick Gaudreau: Good to go
Gaudreau (upper body) will play Sunday versus San Jose, according to Jessi Pierce of NHL.com. After sitting out Saturday's 3-1 loss to the Blues, Gaudreau will replace Marcus Johansson (lower body) in the lineup versus the Sharks. The 30-year-old Gaudreau has three goals, 11 points and 72 shots on net in 48 contests this campaign.... See More ... See Less -
Wild's Frederick Gaudreau: Won't play Saturday
Gaudreau (upper body) won't be in the lineup Saturday against St. Louis. Gaudreau is considered day-to-day ahead of Sunday's matchup versus San Jose. He has 11 points, 72 shots on goal and 35 blocked shots across 48 outings this season. Mason Shaw will replace Gaudreau in the lineup versus the Blues.... See More ... See Less -
Wild's Frederick Gaudreau: Back at it
Gaudreau (upper body) will return to the lineup Tuesday against Washington, Joe Smith of The Athletic reports. Gaudreau is expected to return to a bottom-six role following his two-game absence. He's picked up three goals and 10 points through 34 contests this season.... See More ... See Less -
Wild's Frederick Gaudreau: Remains unavailable
Gaudreau (upper body) isn't expected to play Sunday versus the Hurricanes, per Joe Smith of The Athletic. Gaudreau will miss his second straight contest. It's unclear at this time if he will be available to return Tuesday versus Washington. Gaudreau has 10 points, 57 shots on goal and 27 blocked shots in 34 outings this season. Jake Lucchini will replace Connor Dewar, who sustained a lower-body injury in Friday's 6-4 win over Florida, in Sunday's lineup.... See More ... See Less -
Wild's Frederick Gaudreau: Out Friday
Gaudreau (upper body) will not play Friday against Florida, Joe Smith of The Athletic reports. As expected, Gaudreau will be absent after suffering an injury Thursday against the Lightning. The 30-year-old has just one point over his last nine games and 10 through 34 appearances this season. Minnesota's next game is Sunday in Carolina.... See More ... See Less -
Wild's Frederick Gaudreau: Suffers upper-body injury
Gaudreau is doubtful for Friday's game in Florida after suffering an upper-body injury in Tampa Bay on Thursday, Joe Smith of The Athletic reports. Gaudreau suffered the injury on his first shift of the third period and did not return. Patrick Maroon replaced him on the third line for the remainder of the game and should line up alongside Ryan Hartman and Marcus Foligno on Friday. Adam Raska is likely to enter the lineup and see fourth line minutes. Gaudreau has three goals, seven assists and 57 shots on goal in 34 games this season.... See More ... See Less -
Wild's Frederick Gaudreau: Two-point effort in loss
Gaudreau scored a power-play goal and added an even-strength assist in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Jets. His one-timer from the faceoff circle gave the Wild a 2-1 lead early in the third period, but it didn't hold up. It was Gaudreau's first multi-point performance of the season. His spot on the third line limits his fantasy ceiling, but the veteran center is on a bit of a heater with two goals and six points over the last eight games. Even though he only skates on the second unit, half of that production has come with the man advantage.... See More ... See Less -
Wild's Frederick Gaudreau: Lights lamp against Vancouver
Gaudreau scored his second goal of the season in Saturday's 2-1 shootout win over the Canucks. The veteran center opened the scoring late in the first period by redirecting a slick feed from Marcus Foligno past Casey DeSmith. Gaudreau didn't collect his first point of the season until late November, but he's since found a bit of a groove with two goals and four points in the last nine games while holding down a spot on Minnesota's second power-play unit.... Wild's Frederick Gaudreau: Tallies first of the season
Gaudreau scored a goal on three shots in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Blues. Gaudreau put the Wild ahead 2-1 late in the first period, beating Jordan Binnington with a wrist shot through traffic. It's the first point in 10 games this season for Gaudreau, who missed 10 games with an upper-body injury earlier in the campaign. The 30-year-old center tallied 19 goals and 38 points in 82 games last year. Gaudreau should primarily skate in a bottom-six role with the Wild while also seeing time on the second power-play unit.... See More ... See Less -
Wild's Frederick Gaudreau: Good to go
Gaudreau (upper body) will be activated from long-term injured reserve ahead of his return to the lineup Sunday against Toronto, Sarah McLellan of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. Gaudreau is good to go after sitting out the past 10 games. He hasn't earned a point in six appearances this season. Gaudreau, who could occupy a middle-six role in Sunday's contest, has been credited with nine shots on goal, one blocked shot and three hits this campaign.... See More ... See Less -
Wild's Frederick Gaudreau: Moves to LTIR
Gaudreau (upper body) was placed on long-term injured reserve Monday. Gaudreau, who is retroactive to Oct. 24, will be eligible to play Sunday against Toronto. According to Michael Russo of The Athletic, putting Gaudreau on LTIR allows the Wild to bring a 23rd player for the team's trip to Sweden for the Global Series. It also provides Minnesota with some flexibility in case Jesper Wallstedt has to play due to an injury or illness to Marc-Andre Fleury or Filip Gustavsson.... See More ... See Less -
Wild's Frederick Gaudreau: Back on ice
Gaudreau (upper body) skated Sunday and could return Nov. 19 against Toronto, Jessi Pierce of NHL.com reports. Gaudreau has missed eight straight games after being held without a point in his first six appearances. He'll travel with the Wild to Sweden and expects to return Nov. 19 barring any setbacks.... Wild's Frederick Gaudreau: Remains out Thursday
Gaudreau (upper body) won't play Thursday versus the Rangers, per the NHL media site. Gaudreau hasn't played since Oct. 26 because of the injury. He has no points, a minus-2 rating and nine shots in six contests this season. When Gaudreau is ready to return, he will likely serve in a middle-six capacity and occupy a spot on the second power-play unit.... See More ... See Less -
Wild's Frederick Gaudreau: Yet to start skating
Gaudreau (upper body) still isn't skating, Jessi Pierce of NHL.com reports, indicating the forward will remain out of the lineup against New Jersey on Thursday. Gaudreau shouldn't be expected to suit up versus the Devils and probably is a long shot to play in Saturday's clash with the Rangers as well. Prior to his three-game absence, the veteran center was mired in a six-game pointless streak during which he registered just nine shots.... See More ... See Less -
Wild's Frederick Gaudreau: Not on trip
Gaudreau is dealing with an upper-body injury and did not travel with the Wild to Philadelphia for the start of the team's three-game road trip. Gaudreau has yet to record a point in six contests this season. He saw 15:23 of ice time in Tuesday's 7-4 win over the Oilers, so it's unclear when he got hurt. Jujhar Khaira was called up from AHL Iowa and will likely replace Gaudreau in the lineup during the road trip.... See More ... See Less -
Wild's Frederick Gaudreau: Practicing on opening day of camp
Gaudreau, who underwent abdominal surgery over the summer, practiced with the Wild on Thursday, per Sarah McLellan of the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Gaudreau skated alongside Kirill Kaprizov and Mats Zuccarello as part of Minnesota's Group A skate. Gaudreau isn't likely to start the regular season as part of that unit, but he'd certainly be worth keeping a close eye on if he did. The 30-year-old forward had 19 goals and 38 points in 82 outings in 2022-23.... See More ... See Less -
Wild's Frederick Gaudreau: Set to undergo surgery
Gaudreau will undergo surgery on an abdominal injury he dealt with for the last four months of the season, Sarah McLellan of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. At this point it isn't clear if Gaudreau will be ready for training camp in September. He picked up 19 goals and 38 points through 82 regular-season contests before adding three goals through six playoff appearances this season.... See More ... See Less -
Wild's Frederick Gaudreau: Scores goal in loss to Dallas
Gaudreau provided a goal in Minnesota's 4-1 loss to Dallas in Game 6 on Friday. Gaudreau found the back of the net midway through the third period, but that merely reduced Dallas' lead to 3-1. Minnesota has been eliminated from the playoffs, in large part because the Wild managed just three goals over the final three contests of the first-round series, though Gaudreau did his part, supplying two of the tallies in that span. He finished with three goals and three points in six postseason games overall this year. That's pretty solid considering Gaudreau finished the regular season with 19 markers and 38 points in 82 outings.... See More ... See Less -
Wild's Frederick Gaudreau: Provides two goals in loss
Gaudreau supplied two goals in a 4-3 overtime loss to Nashville on Thursday. Gaudreau scored in each of the first and second periods, tying the game at 1-1 and then 2-2 with his markers. He found the back of the net six times over his final 10 outings of the 2022-23 campaign. Thanks in part to that strong finish, Gaudreau recorded 19 goals in 82 contests this season, which surpassed his previous career high of 14, set in 2021-22. The 29-year-old also contributed 19 assists, 138 shots, 42 hits and 52 blocks this year.... See More ... See Less
