  • Maple Leafs' Tyler Bertuzzi: Six goals in last seven games

Bertuzzi scored twice Thursday in a 5-1 win over Washington. Bertuzzi scored his first on an odd play on clean ice just 18 seconds into the second period. He banked a shot off Charlie Lindgren from behind the net to push the Leafs up 2-0. That goal stood as the winner. In the third, Bert topped off the scoring on another odd play when he knocked down a pass attempt from a Caps defender who was skating out from behind the net. He then wired a shot into a gaping net with Lindgren out of position. Bertuzzi has six goals (eight points) in his last seven games, a stark contrast to his one-goal-in-32 games span from the end of Nov. to the middle of Feb.

  • Maple Leafs' Tyler Bertuzzi: In Sunday's lineup

Bertuzzi (illness) will play Sunday against the Hurricanes, David Alter of The Hockey News reports. Bertuzzi was absent for Saturday's tilt with Edmonton but will limit his absence to one game. The veteran winger has 34 points in 67 games this season, including eight goals and 12 points over his last 13 appearances.

  • Maple Leafs' Tyler Bertuzzi: Not playing Saturday

Bertuzzi (illness) won't play Saturday versus the Oilers, David Alter of The Hockey News reports. Bertuzzi scored a goal Wednesday in a 7-3 win over the Capitals, but he saw limited ice time in that contest. He then missed Friday's practice and ultimately won't play Saturday after being labeled a game-time decision. It's unclear if he'll be ready to go Sunday versus the Hurricanes.

  • Maple Leafs' Tyler Bertuzzi: Game-time decision

Bertuzzi (illness) will be as game-time decision Saturday against Edmonton, per David Alter of The Hockey News. Bertuzzi briefly took part in Saturday's morning skate after skipping Friday's session. He logged 14:19 of ice time in Wednesday's 7-3 win over Washington despite feeling under the weather, so perhaps he will be able to play again. Bertuzzi has generated nine goals and 13 points over his past 16 outings.

  • Maple Leafs' Tyler Bertuzzi: Not practicing Friday

Bertuzzi (illness) missed practice Friday, David Alter of The Hockey News reports. Bertuzzi was feeling under the weather Wednesday in the Maple Leafs' 7-3 win in Washington, but he managed to score his 15th of the season. Bertuzzi has 34 points in 67 games this season, including five goals and an assist on the power play. He's considered day-to-day ahead of Saturday's game versus Edmonton.

  • Maple Leafs' Tyler Bertuzzi: Adds goal in rout

Bertuzzi brushed twine in Wednesday's 7-3 win over the Capitals. Bertuzzi dumped the puck into the cage with relative ease thanks to Auston Matthews' trickery on a no-look backhand pass. Last season, Bertuzzi struggled with injuries, managing 30 points (eight goals, 22 assists) through 50 games between the Red Wings and Bruins, but he's missed just one game in 2023-24 for a team currently ranked ninth in the NHL with 87 points. Bertuzzi sporting only six power-play points while sharing the ice with Matthews is a bit of a head scratcher -- especially since the Buds have a 26.0 conversion rate on the man advantage -- though he's mixed it up a bit defensively based on 40 blocked shots and 78 hits.

  • Maple Leafs' Tyler Bertuzzi: Snags helper in OT win

Bertuzzi registered an assist in Wednesday's 2-1 overtime win over the Sabres. The Maple Leafs were on the board first thanks to a tic-tac-toe sequence that started with some quick passes between Max Domi and Bertuzzi, who set up William Nylander's 34th goal of the season. While this counts as Bert's first point of March, he's impressively strung together six goals and two assists over the last 10 contests. Fantasy mangers rolling with the top-six winger undoubtedly would prefer that he'd have more than six power-play points by now, but there's still hope for gain in that area since he's on the No. 1 man-advantage unit with NHL goal leader Auston Matthews.

  • Maple Leafs' Tyler Bertuzzi: Hat trick best birthday gift

Bertuzzi notched a hat trick Saturday in a 4-3 win over the Avalanche. Bertuzzi celebrated his 29th birthday in style with his first multi-goal game since Oct. 14, 2021, which came as a member of the Red Wings. He scored twice on the power play, including the game-winner at the 17:09 mark of the third period. Bertuzzi also got himself into the record books as the first player in Maple Leafs history to score a hat trick on his birthday. It was a great night for the edgy winger, but he's still working himself back from a big hole from a fantasy perspective. He has 110 shots, 64 hits, 10 goals and 16 assists through 56 games this season.

  • Maple Leafs' Tyler Bertuzzi: Records helper

Bertuzzi posted an assist, three shots on goal and two blocked shots in Thursday's 7-3 win over the Golden Knights. Bertuzzi helped out on the first of Max Domi's goals. The 28-year-old Bertuzzi has picked up just three points over nine outings in February despite seeing steady middle-six minutes. Overall, the winger has 23 points, 106 shots on net, 63 hits, 32 blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating over 55 appearances.

  • Maple Leafs' Tyler Bertuzzi: Back at practice Friday

Bertuzzi (personal) is at practice Friday, Mark Masters of TSN reports. Bertuzzi missed Wednesday's game versus the Jets as his wife gave birth to their child. He is ready to return as the Maple Leafs head to Winnipeg to play the second half of a home-and-away series. Bertuzzi has been a bit of a disappointment this season after signing a one-year contract in the offseason, scoring only six goals while adding 14 assists in 45 games.

  • Maple Leafs' Tyler Bertuzzi: Designated to non-roster list

Bertuzzi (personal) was placed on the non-roster list Tuesday, according to Jonas Siegel of The Athletic. The Maple Leafs activated Ryan Reaves (lower body) from injured reserve in a corresponding move. Bertuzzi, who is away from the team to be with his wife to await the birth of their child, probably won't be available to play Wednesday against Winnipeg. He has picked up six goals, 20 points, 84 shots on net and 39 hits in 45 contests this campaign.

  • Maple Leafs' Tyler Bertuzzi: Missing from practice

Bertuzzi was not in attendance for Tuesday's practice while awaiting the birth of his child, David Alter of The Hockey News reports. Bertuzzi should be considered a question mark heading into Wednesday's matchup with Winnipeg. The winger is currently stuck in a 13-game goal drought during which he registered just 17 shots, though he did chip in six assists along the way. If Bertuzzi is available against the Jets, he should retake his place in a top-six role.

  • Maple Leafs' Tyler Bertuzzi: Snags helper in loss

Bertuzzi posted an assist and two PIM in Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Red Wings. Bertuzzi was able to get on the scoresheet against his former team -- he now has three points over two games versus Detroit this season. The winger hasn't scored in nine games, but he has five assists in that span. For the season, he's at 19 points, 83 shots on net, 37 hits, 22 PIM and a plus-7 rating across 41 appearances.

  • Maple Leafs' Tyler Bertuzzi: Snaps eight-game point drought

Betuzzi had three assists Saturday in a 7-0 win over Pittsburgh. It's been a long season for Bertuzzi, who has struggled offensively in Toronto. The points were his first in nine games. Bertuzzi has five goals, seven assists, 59 shots and 28 hits in 28 games this season. He hasn't been able to offer much fantasy value despite playing regularly as a top-six forward for the Maple Leafs, but games like this are a good reminder that he is capable of contributing much more.

  • Maple Leafs' Tyler Bertuzzi: Looks like fit on second line

Bertuzzi scored a goal Saturday in a 3-2 loss to the Penguins. Bertuzzi scored from the right post on a rebound following a John Tavares shot at 3:59 of the first period. He has found a home on the Leafs second line with William Nylander and Tavares, and he looks more comfortable with each passing game. Bert brings some fantasy value, but not as much as one would think. His edgy game is tailor made for the postseason, but he doesn't ring up the number of hits or PIM as you would think. Bertuzzi's fantasy merit will rise if he continues to build chemistry on the second line, but he needs to covert more at even strength. He has three goals and six points in his past seven outings.

  • Maple Leafs' Tyler Bertuzzi: First multi-pointer of season

Bertuzzi picked up two apples in a 5-2 win over the Canucks on Saturday. The first one was a primary helper on Matthew Knies' first-period goal. Bertuzzi then got a secondary helper on William Nylander's second-period snipe. It's his first multi-point effort this season. Bertuzzi has taken some heat this season for appearing to be disengaged and struggling to find a fit in blue and white. But he has three points (one goal, two assists) in his last three games, so perhaps he's turning the corner.

  • Maple Leafs' Tyler Bertuzzi: Snaps slump with tally

Bertuzzi scored at even strength in Wednesday's 6-3 loss to the Senators. Bertuzzi's ice time has been volatile as he's struggled in his first season with the Maple Leafs. He's lit the lamp just three times and has a single helper between 13 games, but Bert also tied William Nylander with a game-high five shots Wednesday, which likely only complicates matters for fantasy mangers that had grown impatient with the former. Bertuzzi's best season took place in 2021-22, when he sniped his way to 30 goals and added 32 assists for the Red Wings, but the Leafs are using him in the defensive zone more often than he was in Detroit, or even his 22 games in Boston last season.

  • Maple Leafs' Tyler Bertuzzi: Nets power-play goal

Bertuzzi scored a power-play goal on two shots in Thursday's 4-1 win over the Stars. Bertuzzi struck at 5:08 of the third period to give the Maple Leafs a two-goal lead. The 28-year-old winger has showed some signs of life with a goal and an assist over his last two games. He's at three points, 15 shots on net, 10 PIM, seven hits and a plus-3 rating through seven contests overall.

  • Maple Leafs' Tyler Bertuzzi: Plays through injury Thursday

Per Mark Masters of TSN, Bertuzzi (undisclosed) could be missing from the Toronto lineup Saturday when the Maple Leafs face the Lightning. Bertuzzi played injured Thursday in a 3-1 loss to the Panthers. The winger has one goal in four games with Toronto this season. The Maple Leafs recalled Pontus Holmberg on Friday in case Bertuzzi is unable to go Saturday. Confirmation on Bertuzzi's status against Tampa Bay should surface prior to puck drop.

  • Maple Leafs' Tyler Bertuzzi: First goal with new team

Bertuzzi scored a goal Saturday in a 7-4 win over the Wild. Bertuzzi swatted in a bumper pass from Calle Jarnkrok from in tight while on the power play. He was plus-3 on the night and was on the ice for Auston Matthews' second straight hat trick. Bertuzzi's confidence is starting to grow, and he's looking to get back to the heights of his career-best 62-point season in 2021-22.
