Pageau (undisclosed) exited Wednesday's game versus the Penguins after sustaining an injury in the first period, Stefen Rosner of NHL.com reports. The Islanders are likely taking a cautious approach with the two-way center in the last game before the postseason. Pageau will wrap up the regular season with 33 points while playing in all 82 games for the first time since 2016-17.... See More ... See Less

Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Two points including GWG
Pageau scored the game-winning goal and added an assist in Thursday's 3-2 victory over the Panthers. The 31-year-old center jumped on a loose puck and slid it past Anthony Stolarz midway through the second period, giving the Isles their first and only lead of the game. Pageau's last multi-point performance came March 2, and on the season he's produced 10 goals and 30 points in 72 contests. He's also tied his career high with 175 hits, and his 72 blocked shots has him seven back of matching his personal best in that category as well.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Garners assist in win
Pageau notched an assist and two hits in Thursday's 7-2 win over the Sharks. Pageau set up Noah Dobson's goal 19 seconds into the game. With a goal and three assists over three games in March, it's already been a more productive month for Pageau than February was -- he had just two points over 10 outings last month. The 31-year-old center is up to 26 points, 76 shots on net, 156 hits, 58 blocked shots and a minus-6 rating through 62 appearances. He should continue to log middle-six minutes as a strong defensive center.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Surfaces with two helpers
Pageau earned two assists in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Bruins. The helpers are nice and all, but Pageau still has only 24 points through 60 games as a middle-six contributor with a role on the secondary man-advantage unit. It doesn't help that in this campaign, he's averaging only 1.22 shots per game compared to a 1.76 rate between eight years with the Senators and five years running for the Isles. Pageau does have a goal and five assists shorthanded in 2023-24, but it comes at the expense of a single power-play point. All told, Pageau is best viewed as an option in deep leagues.... Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Deals assist in win
Pageau recorded an assist, two shots on goal and two hits in Thursday's 6-2 win over the Lightning. Pageau has three points over his last five games. The center set up Noah Dobson's opening tally in the first period of this one. Pageau remains on the third line with the Islanders' forward group at nearly full health. The 31-year-old has managed 21 points, 63 shots on net, 109 hits, 50 blocked shots and a minus-11 rating through 51 outings while seeing time in all situations.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Nets lone goal in loss
Pageau scored a goal and added six hits in Saturday's 3-1 loss to the Predators. Pageau got a piece of a Noah Dobson shot and tipped in the Islanders' lone goal with eight minutes left in the third period. The tally snapped a six-game slump for Pageau since his four-point eruption versus the Capitals on Dec. 29. The center has moved down to the fourth line in recent contests due to the absence of Casey Cizikas (lower body). Pageau has been less effective than usual with five goals, 18 points, 52 shots on net, 87 hits and 43 blocked shots through 42 appearances this season.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Erupts for four points
Pageau recorded two goals and two assists in Friday's 5-1 victory over Washington. After opening the scoring in the second period, Pageau picked up three points in the final frame, setting up a pair of Julien Gauthier goals before extending the Islanders' lead to 5-0 with a second tally, doubling his season total. The 31-year-old Pageau had gone eight games without a goal prior to Thursday's contest, recording just three assists in that span. He's up to four goals and 17 points through 35 games in a middle-six role this year.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Overtime hero Saturday night
Pageau scored the game-winner in overtime in a 3-2 victory over the Kings on Saturday. He slid a backhand five-hole on Cam Talbot just 13 seconds into the extra period to complete the Islanders' comeback win. It was Pageau's first overtime goal since Nov. 7, 2019, which came as a member of the Senators. Unfortunately, his two goals and 10 points in 26 games this season don't make him much of a fantasy force.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Earns helper versus Sharks
Pageau picked up a power-play assist in a 5-4 lose to San Jose on Tuesday. It was the first power-play point of the season for Pageau. After a slow start to the campaign, the veteran center appears to be discovering his offensive game, having notched four points in his last six contests, including his first goal of the year.... Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Two assists in loss
Pageau posted two assists and one shot in the Islanders' 7-4 loss to the Avalanche on Tuesday. Pageau picked up helpers on goals by Simon Holmstrom and Cal Clutterbuck. This performance marked the first points for Pageau this season as he looks to get on track offensively. He should continue to play on the third line and second power-play unit.... See More ... Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Good to go
Pageau (illness) took part in Monday's intrasquad scrimmage, per Stefen Rosner of The Hockey News. Pageau had been dealing with an illness prior to getting back on the ice. He notched 13 goals, 40 points and 175 hits in 70 games last season.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Battling illness
Pageau is day-to-day with an illness, coach Lane Lambert told Andrew Gross of Newsday on Friday. Pageau missed Friday's practice, but there's no reason to expect he'll miss Opening Night. He scored 13 goals and 40 points in 70 outings last season.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Mirrors output from last season
Pageau earned an assist in Saturday's 4-0 win over the Flyers. Pageau's apple puts him at 39 points (13 goals, 26 assists) on the season, matching his total from last season in nine fewer games. The Isles utilize Pageau on the power play and penalty kill, so his opportunities should remain plentiful, especially with the team currently tied with the Panthers for the first wild-card playoff spot out of the Eastern Conference.... Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Extends point streak to four games
Pageau registered two assists in the Islanders' 7-2 victory over Toronto on Tuesday. Pageau missed 12 straight games due to an upper-body injury, but he's been making up for lost time since returning March 14 by providing two goals and six points over his last four contests. The 30-year-old is up to 12 goals and 35 points in 60 outings this season. He's just four points shy of his 2021-22 total despite playing in 17 fewer games.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Slides assist in win
Pageau provided an assist, two shots on goal, three blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Wednesday's 6-3 win over the Ducks. Pageau reached the 20-assist mark when he set up Zach Parise's third-period tally. With a goal and an assist in two games since returning from an upper-body injury, Pageau is right back in good form after slumping prior to his absence. He has 31 points, 100 shots on net, 144 hits, 52 blocked shots and a minus-7 rating through 58 contests.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Gets goal in return
Pageau scored a goal and blocked two shots in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Kings. Pageau returned to the lineup after missing 12 games with an upper-body injury. His 13:39 of ice time suggests he'll be eased back into action, especially since this was the first half of a back-to-back. The Islanders should appreciate having their all-situations center back in action. He's at 11 goals, 30 points, 98 shots on net, 143 hits, 49 blocked shots and a minus-9 rating through 57 appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Removed from IR
Pageau (upper body) was activated from injured reserve ahead of Tuesday's game against Los Angeles, according to the NHL media site. Pageau was listed as a game-time decision following Tuesday's morning skate, per Andrew Gross of Newsday, but it's expected that he will return to the lineup against the Kings following a 12-game absence. Pageau has registered 10 goals, 29 points, 97 shots on net and 142 hits in 56 contests this campaign.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Misses practice Monday
Pageau (upper body) didn't practice Monday, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports. Pageau missed practice Monday due to personal reasons. Coach Lane Lambert stated after practice that Pageau could still play Tuesday as the team begins a three-game road trip in Los Angeles against the Kings. If Pageau needs another day, then perhaps he will return Wednesday in Anaheim. Pageau has missed the last 12 games due to the injury. When deemed healthy enough to play, he should return to his usual role, centering the third line.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Not playing Saturday
Pageau (upper body) will not play Saturday versus Washington, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports. Pageau has missed the last 11 games with the upper-body injury. He has 10 goals and 29 points in 56 games this season, but he had not found the back of the net in his last 17 games before the injury.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Remains day-to-day
Pageau (upper body) is still considered day-to-day and won't be in action versus Pittsburgh on Thursday. Pageau will miss his 11th consecutive game due to his upper-body issue but is making strides in his recovery. Prior to getting hurt, the 30-year-old center was stuck in a 17-game goal drought, though he did garner six helpers over that stretch.... See More ... See Less
