Quick made 24 saves in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Bruins. The veteran goalie won his third straight start with another rock-solid performance, and both pucks that got past him came with heavy traffic in front of the net. Quick has made seven appearances since the All-Star break, going 6-1-0 with a 2.45 GAA and .920 save percentage, giving the Rangers little downgrade in the crease when Igor Shesterkin needs a breather.... Rangers' Jonathan Quick: Gets starting nod versus Bruins
Quick will be between the pipes for Thursday's road clash with Boston, Arthur Staple of The Athletic reports. Quick has registered a 6-1-0 record and 2.45 GAA in his last seven outings but continues to see minimal usage behind Igor Shesterkin. Despite playing in just 23 games for the Rangers this season, the 38-year-old Quick has still picked up 15 wins while sporting his best GAA (2.46) since 2017-18 when he was with the Kings.... Rangers' Jonathan Quick: Picks up win No. 15
Quick stopped 34 shots in Saturday's 7-4 win over the Penguins. Pittsburgh grabbed a 1-0 lead early in the first period, but the Rangers had firm control of the game heading into the third, and Quick made some big saves late to make sure the Penguins couldn't put together a comeback. Quick has taken a back seat to Igor Shesterkin of late, but the veteran backup has won six of his last seven starts dating back to Jan. 27, going 6-1-0 with a sharp .922 save percentage. Saturday's win was Quick's 15th of the season and the 390th of his career, moving him ahead of Dominik Hasek into 16th place on the NHL's all-time list.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Jonathan Quick: In net Saturday
Quick will guard the road net Saturday against the Penguins, Vince Z. Mercogliano of USA Today reports. Quick has won five of his last six outings, sporting a .927 save percentage in that span. He'll take on a Penguins team Saturday that's averaging 2.85 goals per game. Overall, the 38-year-old Quick is 14-5-2 with a .917 save percentage and a 2.38 GAA this campaign.... See More ... Rangers' Jonathan Quick: Sharp versus Devils
Quick stopped 19 of 20 shots in Monday's 3-1 win over New Jersey. Quick came within minutes of his third shutout this year, ultimately surrendering a lone Simon Nemec tally 17:26 into the third period, though he'd still hang on for his fifth win in his last six starts. Quick has remained a steady option behind Igor Shesterkin in his age-38 season -- he improves to 14-5-2 with a .917 save percentage and 2.38 GAA. With the Rangers playing back-to-back games versus the Penguins on Saturday and the Islanders on Sunday, Quick should be in line for at least one more start during the Rangers' rare five-game week.... Rangers' Jonathan Quick: First off Monday
Quick was the first goalie off the ice at the morning skate, Mollie Walker of the New York Post reports, indicating he will patrol the home crease Monday against the Devils. Quick is poised to get the first half of the Rangers' back-to-back, which probably means that Igor Shesterkin will start Tuesday's road matchup versus Carolina. The 38-year-old Quick has a 13-5-2 record this season with two shutouts, a 2.45 GAA and a .916 save percentage through 21 appearances. The Devils rank 12th in the league this campaign with 3.30 goals per contest.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Jonathan Quick: Signs one-year extension
Quick signed a one-year, $1.275 million contract extension with the Rangers on Sunday, Peter Baugh of The Athletic reports. Quick has performed well as Igor Shesterkin's backup in 2023-24, posting a 13-5-2 record with two shutouts, a 2.45 GAA and a .916 save percentage through 21 appearances. The 38-year-old Quick has won four of his past five outings, stopping 147 of 158 shots during that span.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Jonathan Quick: Win streak snapped
Quick allowed four goals on 41 Columbus shots during Sunday's 4-2 loss. Quick has been huge for the Rangers in his 21 games, as Sunday's loss snapped a four-start win streak and dropped his record to 13-5-2 with a 2.45 GAA and .916 save percentage. However, the veteran backup's starts are coming inconsistently, especially now that Igor Shesterkin is getting back toward his Vezina-like form.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Jonathan Quick: Starting in Columbus
Quick will be stationed between the pipes for Sunday's game in Columbus, Mollie Walker of the New York Post reports. Quick will make his first appearance since stopping 32 of 36 shots in a win over the Canadiens on Feb. 15. He's riding a four-game winning streak with a .932 save percentage during that span. The 38-year-old is 13-4-2 with a 2.36 GAA and a .917 save percentage through 20 games this season.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Jonathan Quick: Gets starting nod
Quick will patrol the home crease against the Canadiens on Thursday, Colin Stephenson of Newsday reports. Quick was sharp in his last start Feb. 7 against the Lightning, stopping 17 of 18 shots en route to a 3-1 victory. He'll try to extend his personal winning streak to four games in a somewhat favorable home matchup with a Montreal team that's scoring 2.88 goals per contest on the road this year, 23rd in the NHL.... Rangers' Jonathan Quick: Sharp in win over Bolts
Quick made 18 saves in Wednesday's 3-1 win over the Lightning. The veteran netminder took a shutout into the third period before getting beaten by Brandon Hagel, but Quick still came away with his third straight win. The Rangers elected to give Igor Shesterkin a bit of a sabbatical around the All-Star break and have the 2022 Vezina Trophy winner study video in an effort to figure out why he's been struggling this season, so Quick has started both games since the schedule resumed in February and allowed just two goals on 52 shots. The team insists there's no goalie controversy and Shesterkin is still No. 1, however. As yet, coach Peter Laviolette hasn't given an indication who will be in the crease Friday against Chicago.... Rangers' Jonathan Quick: Set to face Lightning
Quick is expected to start at home against Tampa Bay on Wednesday, per Peter Baugh of The Athletic. Quick has an 11-4-2 record, 2.35 GAA and .918 save percentage in 18 contests this season. He's won his last two starts while saving 61 of 64 shots (.953 save percentage). As effective as Quick's been, Tampa Bay, which is tied for fourth offensively with 3.48 goals per game, might prove to be a difficult opponent.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Jonathan Quick: Stellar in OT win
Quick stopped 32 of 33 shots in Monday's 2-1 overtime victory over Colorado. Quick was excellent Monday, allowing just a Nathan MacKinnon goal late in the first period before the Rangers won on Alexis Lafreniere's overtime tally, with the 38-year-old netminder earning an assist. Quick's started the Rangers' last two games bookending the All-Star break, earning wins in both to improve to 11-4-2 with a .918 save percentage and 2.35 GAA on the season. The veteran goaltender may be working his way into a timeshare with Igor Shesterkin in New York. The Rangers are back in action at home Wednesday versus Tampa Bay.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Jonathan Quick: First off Monday
Quick was the first goalie off the ice at the morning skate, Mollie Walker of the New York Post reports, indicating he will patrol the home crease Monday against Colorado. Quick is coming off a 29-save performance in a 7-2 win over Ottawa on Jan. 27. He has supplied a 10-4-2 record this season with two shutouts, a 2.43 GAA and a .915 save percentage through 17 games played. The Avalanche rank first in the league with 3.84 goals per contest this campaign.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Jonathan Quick: First win in six weeks
Quick made 29 saves Saturday in a 7-2 win over the Senators. It was his first win since Dec. 15 (1-4-1; six starts). Even with that queasy run, Quick is 10-4-2 with a 2.43 GAA and .915 save percentage, and he has given his career some late life at age 37. He's 15 wins from the 400 mark, but it remains to be seen if he will get another contract for next season to allow him to pursue that plateau.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Jonathan Quick: Set to start Saturday
Quick is expected to start on the road against the Senators on Saturday, per TSN 1200 Ottawa. Quick has posted a record of 0-4-1 over his last five appearances, allowing 16 goals on 138 shots in that span (.884 save percentage). That's somewhat diminished his strong start to the season, but he still has a 9-4-2 record, 2.46 GAA and .913 save percentage across 16 outings. Ottawa is just 18-24-2 in 2023-24, and even though the Senators are a more impressive 12-11-2 at home, this match is still an opportunity for Quick to get back into the win column.... See More ... Rangers' Jonathan Quick: Facing Kings
Quick was the first goaltender off the ice at morning practice and will defend the road crease versus LA on Saturday, per Colin Stephenson of Newsday. This will be Quick's first game in LA since he was dealt at the trade deadline last season after 15-plus seasons in a Kings uniform. Quick faced the Kings at home earlier in the season, kicking out 25 shots in a 4-1 victory. The 37-year-old goaltender is 9-3-2 with a 2.49 GAA and a .912 save percentage. He should get a standing ovation in LA. The Kings have been slumping of late, going 1-5-4 in their last 10 games.... See More ... See Less -

Quick will be in the visiting crease versus Washington on Saturday, Stephen Whyno of the Associated Press reports. Quick is 0-2-1 in his last three starts after starting the season 9-0-1. He has a 2.44 GAA and a .915 save percentage this campaign. The Capitals rank 30th in the NHL with 2.36 goals per game . Look for Igor Shesterkin to start Sunday at home versus the Capitals in the second half of the Rangers' back-to-back.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Jonathan Quick: Third straight loss
Quick made 27 saves in a 4-3 shootout loss to the Canadiens on Saturday. The Habs went up 3-0 by the 2:39 mark of the second period before the Rangers found their game and started a comeback. Quick has a 9-2-2 record with a 2.44 GAA and a .915 save percentage in 14 games this season. He hasn't delivered those kind of ratios since 2017-18, when he carried a heavy starter's workload in Los Angeles. However, Quick has struggled of late, allowing 11 goals in in his past three outings en route to mark of 0-2-1. Use caution if you choose to put him in your lineup.... See More ... See Less -

Quick was the first goalie off the ice Saturday and is expected to start on the road in Montreal, per Colin Stephenson of Newsday. Quick is coming off losses in his last two starts, allowing eight goals on 60 shots in that span. He'll look to get back in the win column versus a Montreal team that's averaging 2.86 goals per game, the sixth-lowest mark in the league. Overall, the 37-year-old Quick is 9-2-1 with a .916 save percentage and 2.41 GAA this year.... See More ... See Less
