  • Jaguars' Devin Lloyd: Tallies 127 tackles

Lloyd finished the 2023 regular season with 127 tackles (75 solo), seven passes defensed and two fumble recoveries in 15 games. Despite playing in two fewer games than he did as a rookie, the 2022 first-round pick recorded 12 more tackles in his second NFL season. Lloyd's production is also notable since he plays alongside Foye Oluokun, who was once again one of the most productive tacklers in the league with 173 stops.

Lloyd logged 10 total tackles (seven solo) in Sunday's 34-3 loss to the 49ers. Even though he's missed two games this year, Lloyd is second on the Jaguars' in total tackles (58) and pass deflections (six). • Jaguars' Devin Lloyd: Nine tackles in win

Lloyd had nine tackles (seven solo) in Sunday's 20-10 win over the Steelers. It was the third straight game that Lloyd had at least nine tackles and he played 100 percent of the defensive snaps for the first time since Week 1. His 48 tackles in six games ranks second on the team -- well behind the 92 of Foye Oluokun -- and he's seemingly over the thumb injury that caused him to miss two games earlier in the year.

  • Jaguars' Devin Lloyd: Draws questionable tag

Lloyd (thumb) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's contest against the Colts. Lloyd logged limited practices all week and is looking like a true game-time decision. He is looking to return from a two-game absence but is in danger of missing a third. More clarity on his status will come Sunday morning after he tests things out and consults with team doctors.

  • Jaguars' Devin Lloyd: Manages limited practice

Lloyd (thumb) was a limited participant at practice Wednesday. Lloyd has missed Jacksonville's last two games recovering from a surgery he underwent on his right thumb two weeks ago, but he took an important step toward returning to game action by practicing Wednesday. If he can practice in full Thursday or Friday, he may be able to shed his injury designation before Sunday's game versus Indianapolis.

  • Jaguars' Devin Lloyd: Will miss next two games

Lloyd has surgery on his right thumb Wednesday and won't accompany the team for its two-game stretch in London that includes matchups Sunday with the Falcons and Oct. 8 versus the Bills, Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com reports. Llyod suffered the injury in the team's Week 2 loss to Kansas City and was unable to play in the Week 3 loss to Houston. Rather than joining the Jaguars abroad, Lloyd will stay back in the United States and focus on his rehab and recovery in advance of the Jaguars' Week 6 game against the the Colts. While Lloyd is out, Chad Muma will likely continue seeing extra opportunities at linebacker.

  • Jaguars' Devin Lloyd: Totals 115 tackles

Lloyd had 115 tackles (59 solo), eight passes defensed, three interceptions and two fumble recoveries in 17 games during the 2022 regular season. The rookie first-round pick played an every-down role at times for Jacksonville this season, and he finished third on the team in tackles. Lloyd should take on a more consistent gig during his sophomore campaign in 2023, though his IPD potential likely will remain more limited while playing alongside Foye Oluokun, who has two straight 180-plus tackle seasons.

  • Jaguars' Devin Lloyd: Registers nine tackles vs. Dallas

Lloyd tallied nine tackles (seven solo) in an overtime win against the Cowboys in Week 15. Lloyd made his second straight start for the Jaguars and finished third on the team with nine stops. That was the most he has recorded since notching 11 tackles against Houston in Week 5. Chad Muma (ankle) had started over Lloyd in Weeks 12 and 13 before injuring his ankle, and he played just 11 snaps in his return against Dallas. However, Muma is listed as a starter in the Jaguars' Week 16 press release, per Jordan de Lugo of Generation Jaguar, so Lloyd may see his snap count decrease Thursday against the Jets.

  • Jaguars' Devin Lloyd: Slated to start Sunday

Lloyd will start Sunday against the Titans in the absence of Chad Muma (ankle), John Shipley of SI.com reports. Lloyd started the Jaguars' first nine games of the season, totaling 69 tackles and two interceptions during that stretch. However, he's reverted to a reserve gig over the past three games, recording 12 stops in that span. Look for Lloyd to return to relevancy in IDP leagues now that he's back in a starting role.

  • Jaguars' Devin Lloyd: Heads to Jacksonville

The Jaguars selected Lloyd in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 27th overall. Jacksonville moved back into the first round to get the sliding Lloyd out of Utah. Lloyd was considered arguably the top middle linebacker in the class prior to the combine but some middling workout metrics in the 40-yard dash and vertical jump dropped him to the 20s. Those measurables did not prevent Lloyd from being an absolute force for the Utes, though, as he racked up 255 tackles, 43 tackles for loss and 16.5 sacks over 47 career games. He has coverage ability to boot as Lloyd snared five picks and broke up 13 passes, 10 of which came as a senior. Lloyd and Foyesade Oluokun combine to give Jacksonville a strong group of inside linebackers.
