  • Saints' Taysom Hill: Fills stat sheet Week 18

Hill logged six rushes for 51 yards and caught all four of his targets for 28 yards during Sunday's 48-17 win over the Falcons. Hill returned to form in the Saints' regular-season finale. The 33-year-old was inactive Week 14 with foot and hand injuries, and he totaled just eight touches across the previous three games. However, nothing slowed Hill down Week 18, as he logged his second-most total yards of any game this season. He didn't register any passing attempts Sunday, though this may have been due to a big night for starting quarterback Derek Carr, who completed 22 of 28 passing attempts for 264 yards and four touchdowns. Since the Saints were eliminated from playoff contention Week 18, Hill finishes the 2023 campaign with 81 carries for 401 rushing yards and four rushing scores. He also tallied career highs as a receiver with 33 catches (on 40 targets) for 291 yards and two touchdowns.

  • Saints' Taysom Hill: TEs to Sit

Hill caught a touchdown in Week 17 at Tampa Bay and finished with 11.5 PPR points, but he only had two targets and finished with two catches for 30 yards and the touchdown. He's disappeared as a rusher with five carries for 4 yards in his past three games, and it's tough to consider him a starter in the majority of leagues. We'll see if the Saints use Hill more as a rusher if Alvin Kamara (ankle) is out, but it seems risky given Hill's lack of touches in his past three games.

  • Saints' Taysom Hill: Scores in big win

Hill logged two rushes for one yard and caught both of his targets for 30 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 23-13 win versus Tampa Bay. He also went 1-for-2 passing for 11 yards. Hill got behind his nearest defender on an all-out blitz by Tampa Bay before hauling in a 22-yard touchdown near the pylon, thus extending New Orleans' lead out to two scores late in the second quarter. This also marked the 33-year-old's first touchdown since Week 13 and just his second receiving touchdown of the 2023 campaign. The versatile tight end's biggest contributions this season have come as a rusher while lined up in the shotgun, which has helped spare top running back Alvin Kamara's workload. While Kamara was forced out with an ankle injury Sunday, Hill's rushing production remained limited for the third game in a row; instead, No. 2 running back Jamaal Williams carried the load with a season-high 19 carries. Hill has now recorded two or fewer rushes in each of his past three games, and, unless he gets involved in the rushing rotation more consistently Week 18, his fantasy value will likely hinge on if he can find the end zone against the Falcons.

  • Saints' Taysom Hill: Limited outing in loss

Hill rushed twice for two yards and did not record a target or passing attempt during Thursday's 30-22 loss to the Rams. Hill played extremely limited snaps for the second week in a row, tallying 10 offensive snaps Thursday after appearing on just 12 snaps during the Week 15 win against the Giants. The 33-year-old logged a rushing attempt on the opening offensive series of each half for the Saints, but he did not factor into the team's game plan elsewhere. Hill missed the Week 14 win versus Carolina while tending to foot and hand issues, though he never appeared on the Week 16 injury report for any reason. He also tied for New Orleans' second-most rushing attempts Thursday, as the team was limited to just 16 total rushes while playing from behind for most of the night. Nevertheless, his stark dropoff in playing time recently, whether if be due to injury or overall offensive struggles, leaves little hope for his fantasy production as the Saints vie for a playoff spot over the final two weeks of the regular season.

  • Saints' Taysom Hill: Start Him in Non-PPR (Lineup Decisions)

Perhaps we should have been more cautious with Hill in his first game back from his foot injury -- last Sunday he played just 12 snaps and had a measly two touches with a pass attempt. He was as quick as ever in the game, nor did he shy away from contact. This week he's not on the Saints injury report, and the short week combined with very little usage the week before could spell an uptick in work. One problem: The Rams have been mostly terrific against the run in their past five games (3.9 yards per carry to running backs, which Hill should be classified as) with one rushing touchdown allowed (to Kyler Murray). There's no guarantee that Hill will be back to his usual snap count, which has been around 28.1 per game though his first 12, but if he's healthier than he should be more involved, especially in a short-week matchup. He remains start-worthy in non-PPR as a touchdown-needy tight end, good enough to go with over Darren Waller, Dalton Schultz and Kyle Pitts, but in PPR he should sit for those guys.

  • Saints' Taysom Hill: TEs to Sit

Hill was awful in Week 15 against the Giants, and we'll see if he can rebound in Week 16 at the Rams. Against New York, Hill failed to complete his lone passing attempt and had one carry for 1 yard while catching his only target for a 4-yard reception. I'm hopeful he was just rusty after sitting out Week 14 against Carolina with a foot injury, but Hill has now scored 8.1 PPR points or less in three of his past four games. Hill is only worth starting in deeper leagues against the Rams in Week 16.

  • Saints' Taysom Hill: Moderate role in easy win

Hill failed to complete his lone passing attempt and logged one rush for one yard while catching his only target for a four-yard reception during Sunday's 24-6 victory over the Giants. Hill had a very quiet outing Sunday after sitting out last week with foot and left hand injuries. When healthy this season, the 33-year-old has played a key role as a physical, bruising rusher behind running back Alvin Kamara. Instead, No. 2 running back Jamaal Williams carried the load with eight carries behind Kamara's 16 on Sunday. Hill logged his lone passing attempt, rush and target during the first half, as it appears the team didn't want to push him too hard during his first game back. His lone contribution in the second half came when he returned a kickoff for 18 yards. Hill should have an opportunity put up more production while serving his usual multi-purpose role when the Saints next play versus the Rams on Thursday Night Football.

  • Saints' Taysom Hill: Clear for Week 15

Hill (foot/left hand) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's contest against the Giants, Brooke Kirchhofer of NewOrleans.Football reports. Hill failed to practice at all before sitting out Week 14 versus the Panthers due to a combination of foot and left hand injuries. This time around, he opened the week with back-to-back capped sessions before getting back to all activity Friday, clearing the path for his return to action. Hill thus is slated to take on his usual gadget role in the Saints offense, which has amounted to 90 touches, eight passes, 647 yards (from scrimmage plus through the air) and six touchdowns overall in 12 appearances this season.

  • Saints' Taysom Hill: Remains limited in practice

Hill (foot/left hand) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports. Hill sat out the Saints' Week 14 win over the Panthers and has had his reps capped in both of the team's first two practices of Week 15, so he may need to log a full practice Friday to guarantee his availability for Sunday's game against the Giants. If cleared to play this weekend, Hill would likely step into his hybrid tight end/backfield role that often entails a handful of targets and carries. He handled a season-high 13 carries in his most recent appearance Week 12 versus the Lions, but Hill could be eased back in with a lighter workload on the ground if he suits up Sunday.

  • Saints' Taysom Hill: Logs limited practice Wednesday

Hill (foot/hand) practiced on a limited basis Wednesday, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. Hill's took part in his first on-field activity since he sat out all of last week due to foot and left hand injuries. On Wednesday, he didn't don a red non-contact jersey and also was working with Saints quarterbacks, per Brooke Kirchhofer of NewOrleans.Football. That said, New Orleans didn't include No. 1 quarterback Derek Carr on its injury report for the first time since Week 10 prep, so Hill may be relegated to his typical gadget role if he's able to put an end to a one-game absence Sunday versus the Giants.

  • Saints' Taysom Hill: Practicing Wednesday

Hill (foot/hand) took part in Wednesday's practice, Brooke Kirchhofer of NewOrleans.Football reports. Hill didn't practice last week before being inactive this past Sunday against the Panthers, so his ability to log some on-field work to start Week 15 prep generally is a good sign that he has a chance to return Sunday versus the Giants. He also was spotted without a non-contact red jersey while working with Saints quarterbacks. Wednesday's injury report will reveal whether Hill was a limited or full participant.

  • Saints' Taysom Hill: Questionable after missed practice

Hill (foot/hand) didn't practice in any fashion this week and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Panthers, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. Though Hill's third consecutive absence from practice Friday was less than encouraging, the Saints aren't yet closing the door on him being ready to play ahead of the 1 p.m. ET kickoff this Sunday. He's been a huge part of the offense of late -- in part due to injuries at receiver -- and the Saints certainly could use Hill's help this Sunday with Chris Olave (illness), Rashid Shaheed (thigh) and tight end Juwan Johnson (quadricep) all listed as questionable. Head coach Dennis Allen said Hill's foot injury is the real concern, not his left hand, per Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football.

  • Saints' Taysom Hill: Misses third straight practice

Hill (foot/hand) isn't practicing Friday, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports. A third consecutive missed practice puts Hill in serious doubt for Sunday's game against Carolina. It remains to be seen if the Saints list him as questionable, doubtful or out on their final injury report Friday afternoon.

  • Saints' Taysom Hill: Idle for another practice

Hill (foot/hand) wasn't on the field for Thursday's practice, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports. Now that he's missed the Saints' first two Week 14 practices, Hill will likely need to get back on the field Friday in some capacity to put himself in a position to be available Sunday against the Panthers. Hill is coming off a busy Week 13 loss to the Lions in which he played 28 snaps and took a season-high 13 carries for 59 yards and a touchdown while throwing two incompletions and reeling in his two targets for 15 receiving yards. With the status of Derek Carr (concussion/rib/shoulder) uncertain for Sunday, Hill could end up taking more reps under center than usual if he's able to overcome his own pair of injuries, though Jameis Winston would likely serve as the Saints' primary quarterback if Carr can't play.

  • Saints' Taysom Hill: TEs to Start

Hill was a Fantasy star once again in Week 13 against Detroit with 13 carries for 59 yards and a touchdown, and he caught two passes for 15 yards on two targets. He should do damage against the Panthers in Week 14 on the ground since Carolina has one of the worst run defenses in the NFL, and Hill should also see time under center with Derek Carr (concussion) not expected to play. Hill has the chance to be a top-five tight end in all leagues.

  • Saints' Taysom Hill: Sleeper TEs

The last time we saw Hill in Week 10 prior to the Saints bye was a dud for him against Minnesota with two catches for 17 yards on four targets and one carry for 6 yards. Prior to that, Hill had scored at least 12.3 PPR points in four games in a row, and I'm hopeful he can get back to that level of production. He's scored a touchdown against the Falcons in three games in a row (two passing and one rushing), and Hill will hopefully get the chance for some goal-line carries this week at Atlanta.

  • Saints' Taysom Hill: Logs three touches in loss

Hill logged one rushing attempt for six yards to go along with two receptions (on four targets) for 17 yards during Sunday's 27-19 loss to Minnesota. Hill looked like he was on pace for another productive night early on, logging two receptions and what wound up being his lone rushing attempt over the Saints' first two offensive series. He fell to the wayside until the third quarter, when he failed to haul in back-to-back passes from backup quarterback Jameis Winston, who stepped in to relieve injured starter Derek Carr (shoulder). Hill's most productive outings this season have come while being used as a running quarterback, but the Saints likely abandoned that portion of the playbook after falling behind 24-3 at halftime. Hill's role as a receiver when lined up at tight end has netted him a consistent 4.6 targets per game over the last five games, but he's still averaged just 7.9 yards per reception over this span. The 33-year-old will look to get more involved after the Saints next play following their Week 11 bye.

  • Saints' Taysom Hill: Catches one TD, throws another

Hill rushed 11 times for 52 yards, caught four of five targets for 13 yards and a touchdown, and completed his only pass attempt for a three-yard touchdown in Sunday's 24-17 win over the Bears. After being stuffed for a one-yard loss on a 2nd-and-goal run from the 1-yard line, Hill moved from under center to tight end and caught a two-yard touchdown on the next play. The next time the Saints got near the goal line, Hill threw a three-yard touchdown pass to Juwan Johnson. After failing to produce a touchdown through six games, Hill has three rushing touchdowns, one receiving touchdown and one passing touchdown in his last three games. His significant role in the red zone will make Hill an appealing Week 10 fantasy option against Minnesota, especially in formats in which he's eligible at tight end.

  • Saints' Taysom Hill: Set to play Sunday

Hill (hip) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Bears, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports. The Saints placed a cap on Hill's reps Wednesday and Thursday due to a hip injury, but it was lifted Friday, when he was able to log a full session. He's thus set to man his typical do-it-all role in New Orleans' offense versus a Chicago defense that has given up a league-worst 81.7 percent catch rate to opposing tight ends this season.

  • Saints' Taysom Hill: Sleeper TEs

Hill was back to being a wild card for the Saints with Juwan Johnson back in action in Week 8 at Indianapolis, but that worked out well for Hill's Fantasy production. He had nine carries for 63 yards and two touchdowns, along with one catch for 14 yards on one target, and he's now scored at least 12.3 PPR points in three games in a row. While it was great to see him operate like a traditional tight end the previous two games with Johnson out, Hill is always a threat to produce with his legs. He's worth trusting as a low-end No. 1 tight end in this matchup with the Bears.
