  • Jaguars' Gabe Davis: In line to sign with Jacksonville

Davis (knee) is slated to sign a three-year deal with the Jaguars, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Davis, who is presumably past the knee issue that sidelined him for the Bills' two postseason games, thus is in line to join a Jacksonville wide receiver corps that also includes Christian Kirk and Zay Jones, while Calvin Ridley is poised to become a free agent. If Ridley heads elsewhere, Davis should step into a key role with the Jaguars on the heels of logging 45 catches (on 81 targets) for 746 yards and seven TDs in 17 regular-season outings with Buffalo in 2023.

  • Bills' Gabe Davis: Doesn't expect to be re-signed

Davis (knee) said Monday he'd be open to returning to Buffalo but that he expects to hit free agency this offseason, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports. Davis, who missed both of the Bills' playoff games due to a knee injury suffered Week 18, said "there was nothing" in terms of extension talks with the team during the 2023 season. The wideout also said he'd have played this weekend if Buffalo had advanced to the AFC Championship Game, per Getzenberg, an indication that Davis will be fully healthy by the time free agency officially kicks off in March. Across 17 regular-season appearances in 2023, Davis secured 45 of 81 targets for 746 yards and seven scores, while his only carry went for minus-2 yards.

  • Bills' Gabe Davis: Won't be available vs. Chiefs

Coach Sean McDermott said Friday that Davis (knee) is ruled out for Saturday's divisional-round game against the Chiefs, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports. Davis has yet to practice since injuring his knee Week 18 against the Dolphins, so it's unsurprising to see him ruled out for another contest. It remains to be seen if he'll have a better chance of returning for the AFC Championship Game, should Buffalo emerge victorious over Kansas City and advance that far. With Davis sidelined again, expect Khalil Shakir and Trent Sherfield to handle increased roles in the receiving corps behind Stefon Diggs.

  • Bills' Gabe Davis: No practice Thursday

Davis (knee) was a non-participant at Thursday's practice, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports. Davis has yet to be listed as anything other than a DNP on Bills injury reports since hurting his knee Week 18 at Miami. The wideout missed Buffalo's wild-card win against the Steelers as a result, and he may be in danger of being a spectator for Sunday's divisional-round game versus the Chiefs with no activity to speak of so far this week. If Davis ultimately isn't able to suit up, Khalil Shakir and Trent Sherfield will be the beneficiaries at wide receiver alongside Stefon Diggs.

  • Bills' Gabe Davis: Not practicing

Davis (knee) isn't practicing Wednesday, Matt Parrino of The Syracuse Post-Standard reports. Though the wideout will open the week of practice as a non-participant, head coach Sean McDermott said Tuesday that he considers Davis to be day-to-day. Davis suffered a PCL sprain Week 18 and then missed the wild-card round of the playoffs, with Khalil Shakir and Trent Sherfield thus handling larger snap shares than usual in a 31-17 win over the Steelers on Monday. The Bills seemingly have at least some degree of hope that Davis can return for Sunday's divisional-round matchup with the Chiefs.

  • Bills' Gabe Davis: Considered day-to-day

Davis (knee) is considered day-to-day ahead of Sunday's game against Kansas City, Katherine Fitzgerald of The Buffalo News reports. Head coach Sean McDermott said the same about nearly all of his team's injured players, so practice participation this week will be telling. Davis didn't practice last week and was ruled out for an eventual wild-card win over Pittsburgh on Monday, with Khalil Shakir working as Buffalo's No. 2 WR and Trent Sherfield as the No. 3. Davis suffered a PCL sprain during a Week 18 win over Miami.

  • Bills' Gabe Davis: Ruled out for playoff opener

Head coach Sean McDermott has ruled Davis (knee) out for Sunday's playoff opener against the Steelers. Davis was listed as a non-participant in practice both Wednesday and Thursday, and now that he's been deemed unavailable for Sunday's contest, the wideout will target a potential return to action in the divisional round, should Buffalo advance. In Davis' looming absence, look for Khalil Shakir and Trent Sherfield to see added opportunities behind top wideout Stefon Diggs this weekend while contending with inclement weather conditions at Highmark Stadium, per Patrick Warren of the team's official site.

  • Bills' Gabe Davis: Idle for another practice

Davis (knee) isn't practicing Thursday, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports. With consecutive absences from practice to begin the week, Davis doesn't appear to be trending toward being available for Sunday's wild-card game against the Steelers. Davis, who exited the Bills' Week 18 win over the Dolphins with a PCL sprain, will likely need to get back on the practice field in some capacity Friday to have any shot at suiting up this weekend.

  • Bills' Gabe Davis: Won't practice Wednesday

Davis (knee) isn't scheduled to participate in Wednesday's walk-through practice, Sal Capaccio of WGR Sports Radio 550 Buffalo reports. Per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Davis is dealing with a PCL sprain after suffering the injury in the Bills' 21-14 win over the Dolphins in Week 18. While Davis' injury isn't considered a major concern, head coach Sean McDermott told Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com that the wideout is considered day-to-day as Sunday's wild-card playoff contest against the Steelers approaches.

  • Bills' Gabe Davis: Ruled out for rest of Week 18

Davis (knee) won't return to Sunday's game against the Dolphins. Davis was originally deemed questionable to return after exiting in the first half, but he was subsequently ruled out at halftime. He finishes the regular season with 45 catches for 746 yards and seven touchdowns. The 24-year-old wide receiver will look to recover in time for the wild-card round, as Buffalo has clinched a playoff berth regardless of Sunday night's result.

  • Bills' Gabe Davis: WRs to Start

It's risky to trust Davis in Week 18, but I like the setup for him at Miami. He already had a productive game against the Dolphins in Week 4 with three catches for 61 yards and a touchdown on three targets. Cornerback Xavien Howard (foot) is out for Miami, which means Davis could see action against Eli Apple or Kader Kohou if Jalen Ramsey lines up opposite Stefon Diggs, and that's a positive for Davis. It could also be a big game for Diggs if Ramsey doesn't shadow him, and the Dolphins are down pass rusher Bradley Chubb (knee) as well. Josh Allen has the chance for a big game in Week 18, and Davis and Diggs should also do well against this beat up Miami defense.

  • Bills' Gabe Davis: Quiet game as offense struggles

Davis caught two passes for 21 yards on three targets in Sunday's 27-21 win over the Patriots. New England's defensive game plan had the entire Bills offense in a difficult spot, with Josh Allen producing just 169 yards and one interception through the air and the leading rusher (James Cook) held to 48 yards. Perhaps the Bills would have thrown with more urgency if the Patriots offense had proved more threatening, but in this game the Buffalo defense did most of the necessary lifting, producing four turnovers and scoring on one. A road game against Miami in Week 18 could require more passing from Buffalo, and perhaps with that Davis might find more opportunity than he did against New England on Sunday.

  • Bills' Gabe Davis: Breaks out of slump

Davis recorded four receptions on six targets for 130 yards and one touchdown in Saturday's 24-22 win over the Chargers. Davis entered Saturday's contest having recorded zero catches in four of his last six games, but he was the key to Buffalo's passing attack in Saturday's win. He accounted for each of the team's four longest gains from scrimmage, the highlight of which was a 57-yard touchdown catch early in the second quarter, when he got behind the Los Angeles secondary and dragged a defender into the end zone. Davis is the epitome of a boom-bust fantasy option, as he's now topped 100 receiving yards in two of his last four games.

  • Bills' Gabe Davis: Shut out yet again

Davis was held without a catch on two targets in Sunday's 20-17 win over Kansas City. While Davis posted a slick 6-105-1 line in Week 12 heading into the Bills' bye, he's now been shut out in two out of the last three contests. He's become an all-or-nothing type of fantasy play -- he has six or more catches in four outings this season but three or less in the other nine games. He's also fallen behind high-upside rookie tight end Dalton Kincaid in the pecking order, seemingly putting Davis as the No. 4 option in the passing game once you factor in Stefon Diggs and running back James Cook. Davis can pop at any moment, especially when teams fail to pay much attention to him, but he's going to be tough to trust with a fantasy playoff outcome on the line.

  • Bills' Gabe Davis: Not targeted Week 11

Davis failed to draw a target in Sunday's 32-6 win over the Jets. Davis was held without a target for the first time this season and went without a reception for the second time in 11 appearances. Despite playing the most offensive snaps (67) of any Bills receiver, the veteran could not connect with Josh Allen in what ended up being a blowout victory. Davis has proven to be a talented playmaker in his time with Buffalo, but his lack of consistency makes him difficult to trust on a weekly basis.

  • Bills' Gabe Davis: WRs to Sit (Start/Sit)

We'll see if the coordinator change from Ken Dorsey to Joe Brady helps the Bills passing game, specifically Davis, but he's tough to trust against the Jets in Week 11. He's scored 9.6 PPR points or less in four of his past five games, and he has a terrible history against the Jets, who held him to two catches for 32 yards on four targets in Week 1. In his past four games against the Jets, Davis has combined for 10 catches for 135 yards and no touchdowns. He's barely a No. 3 Fantasy receiver in most leagues in Week 11.

  • Bills' Gabe Davis: Held catchless in loss

Davis failed to reel in either of his two targets in Sunday's 24-18 loss to the Bengals. A week after recording season highs in both targets (12) and receptions (nine), Davis was held without a catch for the first time in 2023. His low volume on a night when Josh Allen attempted 38 passes is concerning, but Davis has seen five targets or fewer in six of nine games this year. With that said, he's always a threat to find the end zone, as he has amassed five touchdowns through those nine games. The 24-year-old's inconsistency makes him difficult to trust in fantasy, but he's proven that he can be a difference maker in Buffalo's high-powered offense. Davis will look to have a bounce-back performance when the Bills host the Broncos in Week 10.

  • Bills' Gabe Davis: Start Him (Lineup Decisions)

It'll sting if you start Davis and the Bills go back to using him as a downfield threat more than a short and intermediate target. My guess, and it's just a guess, is that the Bills like the idea of playing up-tempo with so many explosive talents on the field. Davis also has been a reliable end-zone target all season, so even if the Bills do go for a slower pace or don't use Davis the same way he can connect for a score to help his numbers. He has just enough upside to be a low-end WR2 in PPR this week over DK Metcalf, D.J. Moore and Amari Cooper.

  • Bills' Gabe Davis: Flex Starter (Lineup Decisions)

Davis is basically a weekly flex starter because of his upside as a deep-ball target in a Josh Allen-led offense. But it's nice to know the Buccaneers have been susceptible to deep throws and deep touchdowns this season. I would roll with Tee Higgins, Josh Palmer or Courtland Sutton over him, but low-upside receivers like Diontae Johnson, Marquise Brown and DeAndre Hopkins don't come close to Davis' upside.

  • Bills' Gabe Davis: Down game ends TD streak

Davis caught three of four targets for 21 yards in Sunday's 14-9 win over the Giants. Davis' impressive touchdown streak came to an abrupt halt at four games following Sunday's stinker. The deep threat finished with his lowest yardage total of the season while also coughing up a fumble, barely scraping together a positive score in most fantasy formats. Even with the rough outing, Davis still owns a respectable 24-362-4 receiving line on 30 targets through six weeks. The Bills' No. 2 receiver could be primed for a bounce-back game against the Patriots next Sunday, as Bill Belichick's defenses have historically shaded coverages toward the opposition's No. 1 option.
