  • Steelers' DeShon Elliott: Finds new home

Elliott signed a two-year contract with the Steelers on Thursday. Elliot will join his fourth different team in four years after stops in Baltimore, Detroit and Miami. The 26-year-old started 15 games for the Dolphins last season, recording 82 tackles (53 solo) and seven passes defended, including an interception. Although a starting job won't be certain for the veteran safety, he should at least bolster the depth in the Steelers' secondary in 2024.

  • Dolphins' DeShon Elliott: Free agency looms

Elliott (calf) racked up 82 tackles (53 solo), seven pass breakups, one interception, and one fumble recovery across 15 regular-season appearances. Elliott put together an impressive season on his one-year deal with Miami, prior to a calf injury forcing him out of the team's playoff loss to Kansas City early. The severity of Elliott's calf issue remains undisclosed, but there's not yet any reason for significant worry about his health being a concern on the free agent market. Heading into his age-27 season, if Elliott doesn't opt for a reunion with the Dolphins, he should have little difficulty securing a starting role at safety elsewhere.

  • Lions' DeShon Elliott: Angling for starting role

Elliott should be in the mix for a starting role in 2022, Justin Rogers of The Detroit News reports. With Tracy Walker cemented at deep safety and AJ Parker commanding a starting nickelback role as a rookie, the 6-foot-1 Elliott would most likely fit in as a strong safety. After the Lions gave up on a 2019 third-rounder in Will Harris despite injuries at safety late last season, Elliott's competition for a potentially IDP-relevant role currently consists of a slew of undrafted projects like Jalen Elliott and C.J. Moore.
