  • Ravens' Mark Andrews: Limited to two grabs in return

Andrews (leg) secured both targets for 15 yards in the Ravens' 17-10 AFC Championship Game loss to the Chiefs on Sunday. Andrews' remarkable recovery and return from a significant mid-November leg injury culminated in an underwhelming performance, with Lamar Jackson often facing pressure from the Chiefs' aggressive front and Andrews, along with the rest of Baltimore's pass catchers, struggling to get open. The fact the talented tight end managed to get healthy enough to suit up is certainly encouraging from a longer-term perspective, however, and Andrews is expected back next season, albeit with a hefty $16.9 million cap hit, in what will be the fourth year of a five-year deal that he signed before the 2021 season.

  • Ravens' Mark Andrews: Fully cleared for Sunday

Andrews (leg) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's AFC Championship Game against the Chiefs. The Ravens removed Andrews from injured reserve earlier Friday, with head coach John Harbaugh clarifying shortly thereafter that he intended for the tight end to play. Andrews' lack of designation heading into Sunday confirms that he'll be available for the AFC Championship Game, a development that doesn't come as much of a surprise after the tight end was listed as a full participant on every practice report since last Wednesday. According to Ryan Mink of the Ravens' official site, Andrews declined to comment Friday on what his snap count might look like Sunday, leaving it unclear if he'll return to his pre-injury role or cede snaps to highly capable backup Isaiah Likely. Either way, Andrews will be playing in his first game since suffering a fibula fracture and ankle ligament injury in a Nov. 16 win over the Bengals in Week 11.

  • Ravens' Mark Andrews: Confirmed ready for Sunday

Coach John Harbaugh said Friday that Andrews (leg) will play in Sunday's game against the Chiefs "unless there's some kind of a problem" following his activation from injured reserve. Harbaugh is merely stating the obvious -- that Andrews is being activated to play and not just as a decoy/distraction. The Ravens presumably would've removed him from injured reserve last week before facing the Texans if they sought to benefit from deception, so the real question now entails the extent of Andrews' role rather than whether or not he'll play. On that front, the Ravens aren't likely to reveal anything ahead of time, so we'll probably have to wait until Sunday to see how TE snaps are split between Andrews and capable backup Isaiah Likely. As well as Likely has played the past couple months, Andrews is still bigger, faster and more experienced, though he won't necessarily have his usual speed/explosiveness in his first game back after missing nine weeks.

  • Ravens' Mark Andrews: Activated from IR

The Ravens activated Andrews (ankle) from injured reserve Friday, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports. Andrews, who the Ravens reportedly expect to make his return to the field during Sunday's AFC Championship Game matchup against Kansas City, is now officially eligible to do so now that he's back on the active roster. The star tight end was designated for return from injured reserve Jan. 12 and has since put forth a number of full practice sessions. Those are all positive indications that Andrews, who at this point looks fully on track to suit up Sunday, may be able to hit the ground running in his first NFL action since Week 11.

  • Ravens' Mark Andrews: Another full practice

Andrews (ankle) practiced fully Wednesday. Since the Ravens designated Andrews for return from injured reserve Jan. 12, he managed two straight uncapped practices last week but wasn't activated ahead of this past Saturday's divisional-round win against the Texans. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported earlier Wednesday that Andrews is expected to be added back to the active roster for Sunday's AFC Championship Game against the Chiefs, and his ensuing full session seems to reiterate that point. Baltimore will need to activate Andrews by 4 p.m. ET on Saturday in order for the tight end to be available one day later.

  • Ravens' Mark Andrews: Expected to return vs. Chiefs

Andrews (ankle) is expected to be activated from injured reserve and play in Sunday's AFC Championship Game against the Chiefs, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Andrews logged two full practice sessions ahead of last Saturday's divisional-round win over the Texans, but he wasn't officially activated from IR in advance of the contest. Now set to take part in full practices for the second week in a row, Andrews appears to be trending toward a return to the lineup Sunday, provided he doesn't experience any setbacks after he required surgery in November to address damage to his left fibula and left ankle. Isaiah Likely has impressed while filling in as Baltimore's top tight end, so the team will have the luxury of easing Andrews into action if he isn't ready for his usual full snap share Sunday.

  • Ravens' Mark Andrews: Won't return Saturday

The Ravens didn't activate Andrews (ankle) from injured reserve ahead of Saturday's divisional-round contest against the Texans, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports. Andrews has been on injured reserve since cracking his left fibula and suffering ligament damage in his left ankle Nov. 16, but Baltimore opened his practice window last Friday and he followed that up with an LP/FP/FP practice regimen this week. The Ravens will continue to exercise caution with their top tight end, with his next game action contingent on his teammates securing a spot in the AFC Championship Game. In the meantime, Isaiah Likely and Charlie Kolar will continue to handle TE reps for the Ravens.

  • Ravens' Mark Andrews: Not expected to suit up Saturday

The Ravens are not expected to activate Andrews (ankle) in time for Saturday's divisional-round playoff matchup against the Texans, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Andrews was listed as a full participant in practice Wednesday and Thursday, but Baltimore reportedly doesn't plan to activate him from IR by Friday's 4:00 p.m. ET deadline. The standout tight end is working his way back from a significant ankle injury suffered Nov. 16, and it looks like a more realistic target for his return could be the AFC Championship Game, should the Ravens beat Houston and advance that far. If Andrews is indeed sidelined Saturday, it will fall to Isaiah Likely, who has scored five times in his last five appearances, to operate as Lamar Jackson's starting TE.

  • Ravens' Mark Andrews: Upgrades to full practice

Andrews (ankle) was a full practice participant Wednesday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports. Andrews returned to practice last Friday and continued practicing this week, with head coach John Harbaugh noting that the tight end looked especially good during a limited session Tuesday. The 28-year-old apparently made enough of an impression to upgrade to full participation one day later, and with no report of a setback, he could practice fully again Thursday. The Ravens will need to activate Andrews from injured reserve by Friday in order for him to play in Saturday's divisional-round playoff game against Houston, which is taking place two months and four days after he suffered a major ankle injury Week 11.

  • Ravens' Mark Andrews: Limited in practice

Andrews (ankle) was a limited practice participant Tuesday. Andrews returned to practice Friday and seems to be getting a real chance to show the Ravens he's ready to play this Saturday against Houston. His availability for this weekend remains highly uncertain given that he hasn't played injuring his ankle Nov. 16 and requiring surgery, but the tight end at least seems on track to be ready for the conference championship game or Super Bowl if the Ravens make it that far. Isaiah Likely has filled in admirably since Andrews suffered the major injury, catching five touchdown passes in six games while averaging 3.5 catches for 53.7 yards on 4.7 targets. Even so, a healthy Andrews is much more of a threat than Likely to command targets and defensive attention.

  • Ravens' Mark Andrews: Improving in practice

Andrews (ankle) had a good practice Tuesday according to head coach John Harbaugh but remains uncertain for Saturday's matchup with Houston, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports. The Ravens designated Andrews to return from injured reserve last Friday, opening a 21-day window in which he can practice without being activated to the roster. He was then limited to individual drills during Friday's practice, with Hensley noting that the tight end moved around well in warmups. The Ravens will need to activate Andrews this coming Friday to have him available Saturday in the divisional round against the Texans, but even if he's active, he could be restricted to a limited role.

  • Ravens' Mark Andrews: Limited to individual drills Friday

Andrews (ankle) took part in individual drills Friday but didn't participate in team drills after being designated to return from injured reserve earlier in the day, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports. Baltimore isn't publishing injury reports while on bye during the wild-card round, but Andrews would have received a limited designation in Friday's practice. The tight end reportedly looked fine running routes and cutting during individual drills, nearly two months after hurting his ankle Nov. 16 against the Bengals. How he fares in practice next week will likely determine Andrews' availability for the Divisional Round, but Friday's developments certainly marked a major step in the right direction.

  • Ravens' Mark Andrews: Designated to return from IR

Andrews (ankle) has been designated to return from injured reserve by the Ravens, Ryan Mink of the team's official site reports. Per Mink, Andrews -- who suffered a major ankle injury on Nov. 16 against the Bengals -- returned to practice Friday, which opens up a 21-day window in which the star tight end can be moved to the Ravens' 53-man roster. While it remains to be seen if Andrews will be ready to play in his team's divisional-round playoff game next weekend, he'll be able to log several practices before a determination is made on his status. Per Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com, Andrews looked good moving around in warmups.

  • Ravens' Mark Andrews: Eyeing postseason return

Head coach John Harbaugh said last week that Andrews (ankle) might be able to return during the playoffs, Saraha Ellison of the Ravens' official website reports. "Our job is to get to that point," Harbaugh said. "That's what we have to do -- get to the point where we're still playing when [Andrews] comes back." Andrews suffered a fibula fracture and ankle ligament injury during the team's Week 11 win over Cincinnati. He'll miss a sixth straight game to close out the regular season when Baltimore hosts Pittsburgh on Saturday, but the Ravens seem to have at least have some hope of getting their star tight end back in the lineup if they make a deep playoff run. They've already taken the first step in that direction by locking up a first-round bye and homefield advantage in the playoffs, with their first postseason game set to take place either Jan. 20 or Jan. 21. Backup tight end Isiah Likely has stepped up big in Andrews' absence, scoring four touchdowns in five games and averaging 3.8 catches for 58.2 yards on 5.2 targets.

  • Ravens' Mark Andrews: Moves to IR

The Ravens placed Andrews (ankle) on injured reserve Saturday. Andrews cracked his left fibula and injured a ligament in his left ankle during last Thursday's win over the Bengals and underwent surgery earlier this week. Though that made his move to IR inevitable, coach John Harbaugh indicated that there is "an outside chance" the star tight end could return before the end of the season, per Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com. With Andrews out for the foreseeable future, Isaiah Likely will get an opportunity to take on a significant role in Baltimore's offense.

  • Ravens' Mark Andrews: Dealing with fibula, ankle issues

Andrews reportedly suffered a cracked fibula and an ankle ligament injury during Thursday night's win over the Bengals, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. The report adds that following his MRI, Andrews is still believed to be dealing with a long-term issue, with the tight end slated to visit a specialist next week to gather more information. Per Ryan Mink of the Ravens' official site, coach John Harbaugh noted after Thursday's contest that Andrews' injury looked like it was season ending. Based on that, as well as Rapoport's Friday report, Andrews is a candidate for IR. In his looming absence, Isaiah Likely and Charlie Kolar are next up for Baltimore's TE snaps.

  • Ravens' Mark Andrews: Season likely over

Andrews suffered a serious ankle injury in Thursday's 34-20 win over the Bengals and is unlikely to return this season, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Andrews suffered the injury early in the first quarter and was quickly ruled out. To understand the full extent of the damage to his ankle, Andrews is set to undergo an MRI on Friday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports. Isaiah Likely is a candidate to step up at tight end in Andrews' absence, though he did not record a catch in Thursday's win.

  • Ravens' Mark Andrews: Questionable with ankle injury

Andrews is questionable to return to Thursday's game against the Bengals, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports. Andrews suffered the injury while being dragged down just short of the end zone on Baltimore's first offensive possession. After walking off the field, he was briefly examined in the blue tent before going into the locker room.

  • Ravens' Mark Andrews: Strong performance against Seattle

Andrews recorded nine receptions on 10 targets for 80 yards in Sunday's 37-3 win over Seattle. Andrews matched his season high in targets and yards despite Lamar Jackson taking to the air only 26 times. As his yards per catch indicate, Andrews worked primarily the short areas of the field, but he did manage long gains of 16 and 13 yards. He's come on strong in the middle portion of the season, posting at least 60 yards in five of his last six games.

  • Ravens' Mark Andrews: Pair of touchdowns against Lions

Andrews recorded four receptions on six targets for 63 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 38-6 win over the Lions. Andrews played his part in Baltimore's blowout win, catching touchdowns of eight and 11 yards, while chipping in a long gain of 22 yards. It was his second multi-touchdown performance of the season, and he now has five overall. As expected, Andrews has remained a focal point of the Ravens' offense, as he now has at least four catches in every game and at least 60 yards in each of his last four contests.
