  • Patriots' Hunter Henry: Re-signing for three more years

Henry (knee) has agreed to a three-year deal to remain with the Patriots, Mike Reiss of ESPN reports. Prior to missing the final three contests of the 2023 regular season due to a left knee injury, Henry caught 42 passes (on 61 targets) for 419 yards to go along with a team-high six TD receptions in 14 games. With the 2016 second-rounder set to stay put, the Patriots will enjoy valuable stability at the tight end position in the initial stage of Jerod Mayo's stint as New England's head coach. Regardless of who ends up as the starting QB for the team in 2024, Henry -- who will presumably be past his knee issue by the time on-field activities resume -- is set to reprise his key pass-catching role, a context that should result in the 29-year-old maintaining a degree of weekly fantasy utility this coming season.

  • Patriots' Hunter Henry: Re-signing with Pats

Henry (knee) is finalizing a deal to stay with the Patriots, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports. Henry completed a three-year, $37.5 million contract with New England and would've been eligible for free agency next week. He'll instead stick around under a new coaching staff, after averaging 44.3 catches for 510.3 yards and 5.7 TDs on 65.0 targets in his previous three years with the Patriots. The 29-year-old tight end figures to keep his starting job but doesn't figure to have much fantasy appeal in an offense that's expected to either have a rookie or journeyman veteran under center to start the season. There's been no indication of Henry needing surgery on the knee injury that cost him the final three weeks of 2023 -- his only absences since 2020, when he was still with the Chargers.

  • Patriots' Hunter Henry: Catches 42 passes this past season

Henry (knee) finished the 2023 regular-season with 42 catches on 61 targets for 419 yards and six TDs in 14 games. A knee issue sidelined Henry for the Patriots' final three contests, with the tight end ultimately having been placed on IR ahead of Week 18 action. With the three-year, $37.5 million contract that the 29-year-old signed with the team back in March of 2021 now having been completed, Henry is eligible to become a an unrestricted free agent this offseason. While there figures to be plenty of roster turnover in New England during the coming months following a 4-13 campaign, Evan Lazar of the Patriots' official site suggests that Henry could end up being a priority re-signing, especially if the franchise turns over the reins to a new young signal-caller, a context in which rostering a player (like Henry) who can be a reliable security blanket between the numbers and in the red zone would be valuable.

  • Patriots' Hunter Henry: Goes over to IR

Henry (knee) was placed on injured reserve Saturday. Henry was at times a touchdown hog for the Patriots this season, scoring six times in 14 games despite being saddled in a moribund offense at times. The team isn't necessarily in a bad spot cap-wise, but it'd be hard to argue that Henry has lived up to the three-year, $37.5 million contract signed back in 2021, and he could be an offseason departure if a new regime does ultimately take over in Foxborough.

  • Patriots' Hunter Henry: Won't play Sunday

Henry (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's season finale against the Jets. With Henry slated to miss a third straight game, Mike Gesicki and Pharaoh Brown (ribs) -- if available -- are in line to lead the Patriots' tight end corps in Week 18. Henry, who is eligible to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason, thus finishes his third campaign in New England with 42 catches for 419 yards and six touchdowns on 61 targets through 14 contests.

  • Patriots' Hunter Henry: Another limited session

Henry (knee) remained limited at practice Thursday. Henry, who has missed two straight games, also was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, so he likely will need to work fully Friday in order to avoid an injury designation ahead of Sunday's game against the Jets. If, however, Henry remains sidelined this weekend, Mike Gesicki and Pharaoh Brown would continue to lead New England's TE corps in Week 18.

  • Patriots' Hunter Henry: Gets in limited practice

Henry (knee) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports. Henry has missed the Patriots' last two games due to the knee issue, but his limited participation in practice to kick off Week 18 prep would seem to suggest he has a better chance to play in Sunday's season finale against the Jets.

  • Patriots' Hunter Henry: Questionable to face Bills

Henry (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Bills. Henry was a limited participant in all three of New England's practices during the week after sitting out the team's Week 16 win over the Broncos. If Henry's able to limit his absence to one game, he'll likely reclaim his spot atop the tight end depth chart while pushing both Mike Gesicki and Pharaoh Brown down a peg.

  • Patriots' Hunter Henry: Another limited session

Henry (knee) remained a limited participant at practice Thursday. Henry, who was inactive for the Patriots' 26-23 win over the Broncos in Week 16, was also limited Wednesday, which suggests that the tight end could be trending toward a return to the lineup Sunday against the Bills. However, unless he practices fully Friday, Henry will likely carry an injury designation into the contest.

  • Patriots' Hunter Henry: Limited at practice Wednesday

Henry (knee) was a limited participant at practice Wednesday. Henry closed out Week 16 prep with a limited practice, but after initially being listed as questionable, the tight end was subsequently downgraded to out Saturday, one day before the Patriots' 26-23 win over the Broncos. With another limited session in the books, Henry has a chance to suit up this Sunday against the Bills, but unless he practices fully by the end of the week, he'll presumably carry an injury designation into gameday.

  • Patriots' Hunter Henry: Won't play Sunday

Henry (knee) has been downgraded to out for Sunday night's game against the Broncos. After sitting out practice Wednesday and Thursday, Henry logged a limited session Friday before being deemed questionable by the Patriots. With Henry now unavailable to face Denver, Mike Gesicki and Pharaoh Brown are slated to handle the team's tight end duties Sunday, and in that context both players now profile as potential Week 16 fantasy darts in deeper formats.

  • Patriots' Hunter Henry: Gets Week 16 questionable tag

Henry (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game in Denver. After sitting out the Patriots' first two practice sessions of the week, Henry took the field Friday, albeit as a limited participant. Henry's return to practice was at least enough for the Patriots to leave the door open for the tight end to play Sunday, but clarity on his status one way or the other won't officially arrive until New England posts its inactive list 90 minutes prior to the game's 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff. If Henry can't play this weekend, Mike Gesicki and Pharaoh Brown would see expanded roles at tight end.

  • Patriots' Hunter Henry: Gets on field Friday

Henry (knee) was present for the start of Friday's practice, Zack Cox of NESN.com reports. Henry was also spotted during the media-access portion of Thursday's practice, but he ended up being listed as a non-participant on the Patriots' official injury report, as he was Wednesday. The Patriots will release their final injury report of the week later Friday, when it will be known whether or not Henry carries a designation into Sunday's game against the Broncos.

  • Patriots' Hunter Henry: Misses another practice

Henry (knee) remained listed as a non-participant in practice Thursday, Zack Cox of NESN.com reports. Per Cox, Henry -- who didn't practice Wednesday -- was present for Thursday's session, but the tight end didn't end up taking a tangible step forward in terms of activity. Henry now has one more chance to get in some practice work before Sunday's game against the Broncos. If Henry is sidelined Week 16, Mike Gesicki and Pharaoh Brown would be in line for added snaps at tight end.

  • Patriots' Hunter Henry: Returns to practice

Henry (knee) was present for practice Thursday, Evan Lazar of the Patriots' official site reports. Per Lazar, Henry -- who didn't practice Wednesday -- didn't appear to be doing much during the portion of the session that was open to the media. The Patriots will release their second Week 16 injury report later Thursday, when the extent of the tight end's participation will be known.

  • Patriots' Hunter Henry: Not practicing Wednesday

Henry (knee) wasn't on the field for Wednesday's practice, Evan Lazar of the Patriots' official site reports. Henry sustained a knee injury in this past Sunday's 27-17 loss to the Chiefs, leaving the game after compiling 66 yards and a touchdown on seven catches. The tight end has scored in both of his last two games, so the Patriots would be without a key offensive player if he's unable to play Sunday against the Broncos. Henry could still bolster his chances of playing this weekend by returning to practice Thursday or Friday.

  • Patriots' Hunter Henry: Week 16 Waiver Priority List

Keep an eye on Henry's health after he injured his knee in Week 15 against Kansas City. Prior to going down, Henry was having a standout game with seven catches for 66 yards and a touchdown on nine targets. In two games with Bailey Zappe, Henry has 10 catches for 106 yards and three touchdowns on 12 targets, and he could be a low-end starter in all leagues for Week 16 at Denver. The Broncos are No. 1 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing tight ends.

  • Patriots' Hunter Henry: Hurts knee Sunday

Henry was forced out of Sunday's game against the Chiefs with a knee injury. Prior to his exit from the contest, Henry had caught seven of his nine targets for a team-high 66 yards and a TD. Next up for the Patriots' Week 15 tight end snaps in his absence are Mike Gesicki and Pharaoh Brown.

  • Patriots' Hunter Henry: Another dud despite new QB

Henry caught two of four targets for 15 yards in Sunday's 6-0 loss to the Chargers. A change in starting quarterback from Mac Jones to Bailey Zappe didn't lead to an increase in production from either Henry or New England's offense as a whole. After topping 50 yards three times through Week 4, Henry hasn't reached 40 yards in a game since. The struggling tight end will try to get more involved Thursday against the Steelers.

  • Patriots' Hunter Henry: No targets versus Giants

Henry wasn't targeted while playing 46 of 68 snaps on offense in Sunday's 10-7 loss to the Giants. Over his two previous games, Henry recorded a combined seven catches on 11 targets, but none of the Patriots tight ends caught a pass Sunday in a contest marked by the struggles of quarterbacks Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe. Henry will look to rebound Week 13 against the Chargers, but given the current state of New England's offense, he looks like a touchdown-dependent fantasy option.
